Thank you Papa!!! :D My husband's is a copy with a raised seal. So I guess we are okay. I can imagine me standing at the port saying "sorry honey, guess me and the kids are cruising without you!" LOL

Beth - I know it wasn't meant to be funny but I could just picture anyone of our husbands being told that!!!!
And us waving "bye bye" from the Deck sipping our Bahama Mama's!

Rae

No documents for us either.

I did have to get new birth certificates since mine didn't have the raised seal. I guess years ago they didn't have that type as mine is over 50 years old. They did let me use it on the last cruise, but doubt it they would now. So in order to get a passport, I need the raised seal so I'm prepared with both a passport and new birth certificate.

Rae and Elaine---We are also doing WDW from Dec 5-9. I always wanted to go to see the Christmas decorations and since the boys will be away at college and I don't have to worry about their sports schedule, Norm and I are going. We are staying in the low rent district All Stars with the AP rate of $49/night. Got great airfare on SWA. Plus is so much cheaper when it is just 2 flyihg instead of 4.

Happy Birthday Mike

Everyone have a great night.:bounce: :bounce:

Nancy

Happy birthday Mike!

Happy Birthday Mike!!!Hope you had fun "trolling"LOL!

Beth...still no doc here:(

Next version of the list is on it's way to you.

Gil & Vickie--Ed & I will be cruising without our sons (ages 28 and 25), so you won't be the only "old folks" on the ship.

Thought I'd pass on some words of wisdom from peagreenid (better known as Patty):

Subject: Inner Peace

Someone sent me an article that said the way to achieve inner peace is to finish things you've started. It is definitely working for me.

I am now making a point of always finishing what I start, and I think I am well on my way toward finding inner peace. Because I care for you, I am passing this wisdom on to you.

Here are the things that I have finished today:

two bags of potato chips,
a strawberry cheesecake,
a package of Oreos,
a bottle of wine,
and a small box of chocolates.

I think this really works because I feel better already!!!

Feel free to pass this on to everyone you know who may need Inner Peace.

Big thank you and {{{{hugs}}}} to Mary for all of her work on the lists!

Also {{{{hugs}}}} to @GoofyNut for the packages.

Guess I'm in a huggy mood tonight.

PAPA Mike a Happy and Healthy birthday to you!!!!!! Tough week at workand the FDA comming for a visit (inspection), weather still stinks, and still no documents. Thank God tomorrow is Friday and another work week is in the books and one more closer to vacation. Usually have a couple of weeks in by now, feeling burnt out. I need to see the MOUSE now. Wait a minute!!!!! EAGLES on tomorrow night and grilled salmon for dinner, Barbara isn't working Saturday and we are having an clothing/ packing rehersal. This weekend is shaping up pretty well better get to sleep and get a head start on it. Goodnight and a better tomorrow all ! :earsgirl: :earsboy:

Karen--- I loved the Inner Peace story. I am going to pass it on to several of my friends.

Gil & Vickie---Norm and I are also another "old couple" traveling without our sons (18 & 19). We are sending them off to college and we are doing the cruise. It's our way of dealing with the empty nest.

Nancy

Mary--Got a confirmation from Captain Marvin's, and I saw that you already had us listed as going. You are really amazing!

Nancy--I'm a big fan of the All Stars. We've stayed at almost all the resorts, and we have DVC points at Old Key West and Wilderness Lodge. I still think the All Stars are a great value, and we really like the food courts, especially for breakfast. The only times I've regretted staying there is during Cheerleader weeks. Those girls are REALLY loud.

I can hardly believe it--it is RAINING. I forgot how nice the raindrops sound on the roof. Hope it keeps up long enough to soak into the straw area in my yard that used to be grass.

Hope the rest of you get your documents tomorrow.

Karen

Karen---Didn't realize you were DVC members also. We have OKW. I hope the cheerleaders are not at All Stars when we are there. Since my points are gone for 2002, we have gotten to try some of the other resorts. Did CBR in June, POFQ for 2 days after the cruise, and then All Stars in Dec. With the mousesavers codes or AP codes they have been fairly inexpensive (for Disney). When we used to camp at Fort Wilderness, I remember paying nearly $45/night for prime campsite so All Stars seems like a real bargain.

No rain here yet, but is suppose to be coming tonight. I have that straw yard also. Our area is looking at even more water restrictions. As soon as the boys are off to college, water consumption will be done @ our home since we won't have the
2 x day showeres that they take.

I agree with George, thank heavens tomorrow is Friday and another week is done.

How is Riker doing?

Nancy

Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes. Didn't get to go trolling in the windup. Too many other things on the plate. Kathy had to get a haircut and she had only slept for 2 hours trying to be up with the family and it was raining.

Having a/c troubles. Have to go to the basement and pull out the inline filter before the unit and see if that helps. Keep fingers crossed that the unit is ok.

Is it September yet???????????

Going to get a cup of coffee and give Kathy the seat of power at the computer.:p Mike

Hi everyone, had a rotten week at work and then was pulled to normal nursery night before last and found another sick baby. Called the doctor and had it transferred to the NICU and had a quiet rest of the the night in the normal nursery. Some times I hate my job. As most nurses (at least in my area will tell you) We hate to be pulled anywhere outside of our nice, safe, enclosed unit. Oh well, at least I have a job.

Mike and I have never cruised with children. We have been on the Magic twice now and have enjoyed watching other families with their children. Our little ones are 29, 27, and 24. All are married and we have only ONE grandbaby. :p and Lord is she precious! Hopefully in a couple of years the kids will be able to join us in a cruise. That is my fondest wish. Meanwhile, I gotta cruise with Mike and we REALLY enjoy getting away from the kids!To use a quote from Tulirose and (?) Dan, What's up with that?

Waiting for DD1 to get here, she has been sewing the cutest little "Sunbonnet Sue's" They are dressed to represent different months of the year. I don't know what she plans on doing with them but I have enjoyed watching them come to life on the sewing machine.

Was just going to say "HI" to everyone, hope all are well, travel safely to the ones traveling, hope puppies are doing well. Take care, Kathy

ps, I need that boat!

Isn't it nice that we "empty nesters" can enjoy cruises! Ed always tells me that it isn't an empty nest until they get all their stuff (not exactly the word he uses) from the basement and attic!

I do enjoy seeing the kids around the ship, but it sure is nice not to have to worry about any little kids myself. Someday.....I'd love for a grandbaby to spoil.

Nancy--I know what you mean about the water usage when the guys are home. I thought girls were supposed to take long showers. My son Steve used to hold the record. Once I bought one of those shower clocks on a rope for him. He was highly insulted that I thought he spent too long showering. I guess it's better than no showers at all. He really hated that clock!

Riker is looking forward to having his dad home tonight. Me too. Taking care of this dog is much easier with two seeing-eye humans. I miss the days when I could open the back door and send him out in the yard alone.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all of you see the FedEx folks today.

Karen

Mary was wondering where I am, so here am I.

DW called me about 30 minutes or so ago and asked if the FedEx truck was for us. Apparently she passed one while taking DS to hockey camp this morning and thought he might be looking for our house. Unfortunately, although I was at the house for an extra 5 minutes he never showed. So we're still waiting. Maybe. Unless he dropped the docs off at the neighbours. Perhaps I should give them a call. But they already think we're strange enough as it is. :p

I regret posting that song a couple of days ago, because we're still awaiting the Wells Fargo wag... er.... FedEx truck.... and I have that stupid tune running through my head. Incessantly.

We're off to the cottage next week (DW and kids for a few more days than I as she gets more vacation time than I do) and I hope those docs arrive before we leave.

One last suitcase to buy (we figured this would be the time to get new luggage) and then we can start the packing full-speed.

Karen - I can empathize with what you're going through with Riker. We had our dog Newton put down back in May at the age of 14yrs 8 mos. She had been deteriorating for some time - blind, deaf, arthritic, incontinent. It was not pleasant watching a member of the family (she was older than the kids) going through what she did.

I see that both Nancy and Karen are DVC members, as are we. (This cruise is half on points, half cash). I remember one or two other posts where people mentioned they are also DVC members. I wonder how many other DVCers there are in the DIS group on this DCL cruise. :D

- Mike

We also just got back from hockey camp last week with my oldest son (Vancouver, BC is the closest place in the NW) and still no docs. I thought the last time we sailed we had them sooner.

We are also DVC members sailing on points. It is great that we have a way to celebrate our 20th anniversary without breaking the bank.

Here I am! Still no docs here either.:(

I have a ? for those of you who are bringing pins for the kids. How many are you planning on bringing along? DD and I are planning on going to Downtown Disney (the Disneyland one) sometime next week, and I'm not sure how many pins to pick up. I don't want to not have enough for everyone!

The paper this morning said that the launch is going to be postponed to "no earlier than Oct. 2".:( The website hasn't been updated yet, though.

BTW Mary, we'll be staying at the Cocoa Beach Inn for the two nights prior to the cruise.

Off to wait for the Fed Ex guy!:Pinkbounc
