09/28/2002 Cruise

Sorry everyone. It seems the last updated list was not
compleat. For some reason the updates made to it were left off.
I will work on it this weekend and try it again.I have everyones updated info. Please be patient with me. I love computers but they really stump me sometimes!
Kathy, I will forward you the addresses I have.

Mary ... I got the addresses you sent and I must tell you ....
:bounce: ing with Joy over the last list you sent. I love the format, really easy to read. I pasted it together and shrunk a little and now I have everybody on one sheet.....I'm sure that won't last long as more DISers get into our little group!

This weekend I'm going to get the LOGO mailer ready. I still need snail mail addresses for ...

PowerAlaska/Alabama
Wendy
Peagreenid
KellyR
ShellofClearH2O ..... please either E-mail or PM me asap if you want the LOGO for shirts (or curious to see it)

Also for name tags, I need to know if PowerAlabama is Chrystina or Christina. For everyone already on Mary's list ... your tags are done, just waiting to be laminated and holepunched for the laynards. Pick-up with be at the Raddison or Sail-Away.

:( Oh No ... now I'm hyped and it's still too far off to say
"are we there yet"

Seems like we're in for a rainy weekend here ... maybe I can get caught up on some of the stuff it was too hot to do (HeHeHe).

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY ALL YOU DADS AND NEW GRANDPAPA!

Check back later..................

Gosh, we were way down on page 2!
14 weeks to go (that means 7 Western from now!)
105 days (double digits are SO CLOSE!)
3 months

I hope everyone now has the updated list.
Cathy, I also make a small version of the list as a "cheat sheet"!
I hope no one is offended if I check my list when we meet!

Going to take the kids to the beach today. DH is working a "side job" (vacation $ yipee) and the weather man says a beautiful day!

Happy Fathers Day to all the daddys out there (granddaddys too)

Hey gang have been busy babysitting this week while Stacey went to class:) Come on September, it is getting closer all the time.

Grass needs cutting and things to do around here. Catch you later. Mike

Have had a senior moment. Kathy and I were talking to a couple at the nursery window while waiting for Katie to be released and come home and I had on my cruisetoberfest shirt on. Turns out the couple that we were talking to were also on the same cruise with us last year. Never met them on the boat , but it turns out to be a small world after all.

Meant to tell everyone that three weeks ago. I have got to lay off of the nutrasweet.:p

:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc It's almost 100 days till the Cruise!

Art just found a hat ... "I have to put this away to take on the Cruise" ... guess he's starting to get excited about the cruise.

2 days ago we uncovered our pool and it needed about a foot of water..... well God turned on the sprinklers and now it's almost full without any help from Art & I. Now, If it'll just stop raining and let the sun come out I can work on my tan. Don't want to scare too many people away!

Did I read right ... have they changed some of the shows on the Disney Cruises? I heard that the Ghost Ship one is gone.

For any of the girls that sew ... Check your local Walmart. They just got in some really nice Mickey American Flag designs in.

Well have some stuff to do ... check back later.

Cathy opened our pool this week. Cover leaked over the winter.:( After much algae killer and plenty of cholrine water is beautiful and crystal clear. Mikey and his wife have already been in it.

Happy fathers day to all the dads on the cruise. I am planning on having a wonderful day tomorrow. I am going to fix Kathy a good breakfast when she gets home in the am. Have some cleaning to do before Stacey brings Katie by in the afternoon for me to baby sit while she and Eric go out for his fathers day.

Getting more excited about the cruise as the days go by. Looking forward to meeting everyone again and hearing the horns sound as we leave port canaveral.:bounce: :bounce:

Happy Fathers Day to all of you fathers out there in cyber space. Hope you have a great day! :D
DD is leaving tomorrow for summer sleep away camp.:( Her first time leaving us. But it's just one week, we can handle that, right?
It was my last day at my "other job" today. Of course I will go back after the cruise. Just don't want to work two jobs all summer. I will miss the residents and my co-workers.
Talked DH into staying at the Raddison on the Sat. we get back. So we can see the Shuttle launch. But that is something that can change at the last minute. (the launch I mean) It would be the perfect ending to what I KNOW will be the perfect vacation.
Everyone enjoy your pools. Summer is here which means.............Sept is not far behind!:bounce: :bounce:

We will keep our fingers crossed for you being able to watch the launch Ave. Hope that everyone has a great day. Mike

 Seems that the following DIS'ers haven't been on our thread lately .... hope you are all OK ... at least drop in to say HI...PowerAlaska/Alabama, Wendy, Peagreenid, KellyR,TiiiigerGirl, (the rest of you know who you are)

Tuned in on Sunday afternoon to see the Wonder at the port .. nice sight.

When we come back from the cruise, we'd like to stay at DL for a few days to do some more Disney. Wouldn't you know it, Fall Fantasy Rates end 10-2-02. DOES ANYONE KNOW if WDW is planning on beginning any new celebrations, exhibits, rides, etc after the 3rd?

Also wondering ... does anyone know where I can get the clip-art of the Mickey American Flag? I have an idea bouncing around in my head again!

Well back to work ... UGH MONDAY'S!!!!!!

Hi Cathy and everyone,

Hooray for this Monday! I'm off till Wednesday night. (Doing the "Happy" dance.:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: )

Now if I could only get rid of this cold my DD1 gave me I'd feel great.:(

Stacey and Eric followed me to the hospital last night so I could weigh ole Katie girl on our electronic scales and guess what! She weighs in a hefty 7 pounds and 4 ounces!:D I told them to start giving that girl a pacifier more and let her swing some when she gets cranky. What to do???????????? Also she is still on the high calorie formula and I have a feeling this will be the last week on that. I think over 3 pounds of weight gain in less than a month is a little much. Any comments? Just a grandma....(Too Nursie?)

Take care everyone, Kathy

OK I'll stop lurking and take time to post. In some ways it was fun last year having the good natured competition to see who get the most posts. It kept me from being a lurker.

Brandon started summer day camp today. He was excited! He was up at 5:00 am which isn't quite as bad as it sounds since I do start work at 6:00 but I was hoping he would sleep in a bit. Instead he was downstairs every few minutes asking if it was time yet. The camp is only 4 days a week so I'm trying to work 4 10's so we can be off together on Fridays. That means that today since I had to take him and go through orientation I worked from 6am to 6pm and still didn't quite get 10 hours in. I am beat.

Anyother Homeschoolers coming on Cruisefest?
(Not that I plan to hold class!!!) ; )

Rae

I've posted a few questions and replys on different threads in the last few days. But each one is listed as "post 49". What's up with that? I would like to get to vet status before we cruise. Anyone have a clue? Thanks.

Do you only get credit for one post per day?

Ave, your "count" is updates with each post. So if you look back at the very first post you made on the board it would say 51(or whatever your current count is)

I am getting excited about my trip to NY in just 16 days!I looked into getting tickets for The Lion King on Broadway but the it is a 3 YEAR WAIT! Beauty and The Beast might be doable. I would love to take DS to see a Broadway show!
We are going to visit Tulirose (Rosemary) while on Long Island.

DD is getting excited about sleep a way camp! She is going to Girl Scout Camp and will be in the Jr Horsewomen progam. She leave July 14.

Kathy, how wonderful Katie is doing so well! The lastest thinking with baby feeding is, feed them when they are hungry, stop when they are full! I remember my mom was feeding DD and mom wanted DD to "finish" the last few spoonfuls, even though she was full. It was really hard to convince her that it is ok to throw away 1/4 oz of baby food or a few ounces of formula. All animals (including man) will naturally stop eating when satisfied, overeating is a "learned behavior"(one I wish I was never taught!LOL)

Shelly (TiiiigerGirl) how was Brandon's first day? Did he make friends? Is he anxious to go back? My two love their summer camp program. They did tie-dye tee-shirts today!

Rae, do you home school year round, or do you follow the school calender?Do you have other children or just Michael?

Tiiiigergirl - Those were the posting days, weren't they! Competition was tough, competition was rough! AND the 9/22ers WON!!! :p

Must be "get out of lurker mode" day today.

Twinave - Your counting the number of your posts post just made me laugh! Your count goes up each time you post but it will show the new number on ALL your posts. If you look back on the very first thing you ever posted, it will say "51". Hey, isn't that Heinz variety!?!

Which, thanks to your post regarding post counts, I checked my own post count and was astounded to see I just passed the 2 Grand mark!!!! This will be my 2004th post here on the Dis and I have been posting since March of 2000!!!

Remember the competition last year on the 9/22 thread to post the landmark number post and SOME people stole them away from other people, PAPA!!! And we can't forget those rascally 9/29ers! The NERVE!!

Wishing I was joining you guys this year!

Hey Mary! Your post wasn't there when I started my response to your sis! Just answered your PM. Looking forward to seeing you and your son on your trip out here! :)

I homeschooled my oldest son (Christopher - almost 22) from 9th on. We were rearended in 1994 by a 16 year old who just received his driver's license. Our 7 year old daughter Kayla was killed (organ donor), and it was just best for Chris to be homeschooled while we all healed from injuries (physical and emotional)

He finished course work in 3 years, took SAT/ACT and got his GED. He currently is at Indiana University and a 3.93 GPA student (HURRAH!) I don't take all the credit for that, he does the work!!

We adopted Michael a year after losing Kayla and although I never intended to homeschool him - he insisted! So he works daily (year roung) in different subjects. We use the cruises to work with geography, manners, culture, etc.

Indiana laws are, well, liberal, to say the least. It does take a lot of willpower and stamina to keep it up though - mostly on my part!!; )

Rae

Rae... I am so very sorry to hear about your loss! How awful for you and your family. A doc I work with lost his 16 y/o son (baby of the family and Dr Cater's best buddy) in a MVA last August. A women not paying attention ran a red light. The anniversary of that tragic event is just 6 weeks away and our hearts are just breaking, knowing that he will have a really tough time as the day approches. Thankfully his wife and his other children as well as his strong faith have pulled his family even closer together.
You must be so proud of Chris! What year is he in?
I am looking forward to meeting Michael and am hoping my DS and he can be buddies!
