This is our first Member Cruise. Do we need ot bring or do anything special. On our first cruise they told us to bring an empty suitcase on the member cruise for all the stuff. Is that really true??

Yep, tis true! What we usually do is pack some kind of duffel that we can put the clothes form the suitcase into to make room for goodies on the way home.

Welcome aboard! If you read posts #1 and #3 you can find out information of who all is going and how to get hold of us if you want to be included on the web page. I see Mark has already answered on the extra suitcase. They do give some great goodies. BTW we are from IL as well. What part of the state are you in?

Welcome aboard, DW and I are first timers as well. We were told by our DVC Guide that we should be sure to bring our DVC Member cards, Disney Visa, Annual Passes, Dining Experience card, etc. Any card that has Disney on it cause they will ask everyone to show thier such and such card for prizes and such.

He also indicated that we should bring an extra suitcase. DW also plans on packing something in case she develops motion problems. Since we have never been on a cruise we just want to be sure.

Hi all for the past two day's all I have been doing is shoveling and blowing snow. Yesterday we had about 6 inches. Tomorrow we get a repreve'but Wednesday they tell us we are going to ge 10 more inches. WHEN IS IT GOING TO STOP.
Well enought of that. Linda sorrry to hear about your nightmare. I hope you got it all ironed out.
Mary I hope you and Mark are keeping warm. I know it's been cold in Chi Town.
Joan did you have to use sunscreen while bike riding? Before I forget Joan when do we have to call DCL for resivations for 4 at Parlos Brunch.
Tomorrow I get the Honey do list Nancy is subbing at school tomorrow.

hi all - having a wonderful time on the wonder.

Tina, Tim and I linked our dining together. The wonder changed their regular routine for the 4 day for this week. Didn't link up with the others 'cause they had children and wasn't sure if they had a table large enough to move around!!!! But all are having a grand time.

I booked next February for Valentine's w/a B2B so make sure I get the whole week in. Tink and Tim booked the Valentine's cruise also.

Tina won at Bingo last night and I won the big blue/white beach towel in the DVC meeting 'cause I had the most cruises out of the group. I "think" this is my 25. I have to add them up when I get home to make it correct for the next cruises.

Today we were at Nassau and tomorrow we will be at sea.
Actually we will just be wandering around Castaway Cay for the day and docking early Wednesday morning.

The family that won A Million Dreams for staying on th Island are onboard and we are going to have a tender come and pick them uep very early tomorrow morning and take them to the Island for the day/night and then we will join them on Wednesday mroning.

We'll have sight of the Island all day.

It is going to be aired on Good Morning America tomorrow morning, in case anyone wants to watch/record it.

Should be fun. I "think" it will be taped to some extent on Wednesday morning also once we get docked and start going ashore.

Oh for sure you need to bring an extra suitcase. We filled our largest suitcase with all the stuff they gave us. Luckily we didn't pack many clothes because we were doing laundry at SSR once we got off the ship.

For us we didn't get 1 of everything, but 4 because there were 4 people in our cabin.

My kids were getting spoiled!

Member Gallery Update!

We have three new families joining us in the gallery. Welcome to:

grumpy'swife Janet and her DH Tony. They are retired from Northampton, PA. They had to cancel the May repo cruise and our using their points in Sept. They will do the Member Cruise, 3 nights at the Contemporary, back on the Wonder for 4 nights on the 28th and then back to the Contemporary before heading home. Sounds like a great trip.

zoecaley - Tom & Kristi. This will be cruise #5 for them and on their last cruise went to Palo for the first time. They said "how sad is that?" You know what - we didn't go to Palo until our 4th cruise and I don't regret it at all. Now you need to try brunch!

DSNYFN1 - Sean and his wife Kerrie are new to the boards. Welcome!

Dan - thanks for the warm wishes. We had a fun day at the Chicago Auto Show today (both took a vacation day to make a long weekend).

As for booking dates:

The 90 day mark for returning cruises is 6/23/08

The 75 day mark for new cruisers is 7/8/08

Remember that booking starts at midnight Eastern, 11 pm Central, 10 pm Mountain and 9 pm Pacific.

I'm sure we'll all remind each other as booking time gets closer.

I can honestly say that I know what you are going through. A few monthes ago I was covering a story at a local High School here in West Palm and my wallet was taken right out of my purse in a large marked news van. I had put my purse in the back of the truck and hit the keyless entry button, but I can only assume that it did not work. This particular HS is in a bad area so I guess one of the kids opened the van to see if the camera was inside and then they saw the purse and snatched the wallet out. I was so upset. I too had to spend hours cancelling things. I also had just been to the October Shuttle launch so my SS card was still in the wallet as well. Since they could now get to anything with that # I also had to get a fraud block through lifelock placed on my account to make sure that they did not steal my identity. I felt so scared for weeks. I hated the feeling that someone out there knew everything about me. Trust me it gets better, but it has taught me to keep purse close and make sure that my doors are locked, cause I too was just across the street and the truck was in my line of sight.

for those who are interested ----

the family for Year of a Million Dreams left at 7:15 am this morning. It will be aired tomorrow morning on Goodmorningi America. after we dock and go ashore.

The weather is pretty bad here on the Island right now. Very windy and a cold front is coming in with rain anticipated. (bad for Pirates Night tonight also) Hopefully the family will make the best of what they have. It is the Mom and Dad and three children that are pretty much grown and no little children involved. The children's ages were a determining factor in choosing the family also this time.

We are just stopped outside the boat ramp entrance right now and going to circle CC all day.

So tired this morning - Tina and Tim kept me up too late last night. I kept trying to go back to the room, but was held hostage

I just wanted to post and say that I'm so sorry to hear about your hassle! I could so relate when you said that not getting your ressies online was just the final straw. We've all been there...you survive something horrible, and then the first time someone looks at you funny it's all over for you.

I hope you can get everything resolved as quickly as possible. I'm looking forward to meeting you in September.
