YIPEE - I sure hope so - maybe I can find out while I am on the ship next week and if not then, when I am on the ship on Feb. 20th. I'll just act like I am a CM since I'm gonna be on so often. :thumbsup2

I just heard that the prem-ear at sea for Toy Story is going to happen on the Wonder in March, 2008.

Since I'll be on the ship with Kay on February 28-March 2, I'm hoping we will get to see it! That would be a blast!

Okay, back to your regularly scheduled programming!

Ok, one thing I am not liking about the "nice" weather. It has woken up the bats! We didn't realize it but we have bats in our attic and we think we actually trapped them when we added more insulation and now it sounds like they are scrambling through one of our walls!

Called someone and they said since they hibernate they won't remove them until spring. So unless we take action into our own hands - and I don't know what hubby is thinking or going to do - they get to live around for a couple more monts :(

I guess they woke up for a couple of reasons, one the warm weather, and 2 we made it quite warm for them so they moved around to find a cooler spot (according to the bat removal people we called). I am not a happy camper.

I think hubby is thinking of taking a slegehammer (or some destructive device) and going into that wall they are in and wack them with a tennis racket or something. I am not to sure I am fond of that idea, but I don't want them hanging around and leaving their bat feces and urine in my walls either.

Sigh.

Other than that :rotfl: things are going well. I can tell it is going to be a LOOOOOOOOOONG semester. I will be ready for my vacation at the end of April for sure!

JSMom-
Wow! Sounds like you got quite the year of travel planned. I would love to go aborad but not a big fan of flying, plus hubby isn't a fan of going out of the country that much unless he can get there by land or sea.

I am in a lot of pain today - had some pelvic ultrasounds done to try and determine what my problems are. More appointments in the next coming weeks.

Today was a great day for me. I stepped on the scales and lost 14 lbs since last wed! And we got tickets to see Oprah next week. Mary, we will be in your neck of the woods. While we are in Chigaoland, we also want to check out the DVC preview center. Any suggestions on how to get from Harpo studios to the mall?

Mandy-sorry to hear about the bats. That is just icky!

JS- sounds like you are going to have a great spring/summer with those trips.

Kay- are you ever home and how is Shelby?
What is the Toy Story thing they are doing on the ship? Haven't heard of it.

Annette

CONGRATULATIONS on the weight loss - I am getting to the point where I am gonna have to watch it too. Too much good food at the hospital lately.

Let us know when the show will be aired. Good for you. How long have you had the tickets??

Yes, you definitely have to go to the DVC premiere center. I would love to do that also.

As far as Shelby goes, she will be operated on next Tuesday, as I want to be home to make sure she is OK when I leave. I am supposed to leave on Wednesday and then go to the Port on Thursday morning from WDW.

Then when I get home for a couple of days, I will leave for Linda's house for the weekend. I hope she has paid her electric bill. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: just kidding, of course.

As far as Toy Story goes, maybe Linda can enlighten us on that a little more.

I'll be on the ship for my birthday, March 1st, so maybe they'll have the prem-ear to celebrate.

Mandy: yes, so sorry to hear about the bats --- :scared1:

I will be staying with some friends that work at WDW and have a house close by. I love it when I don't have to pay for lodging there. I banked all my DVC points until my next use year. They always beg me to stay with them, so I do when I get a chance. They get my family into the parks when we are there, so I hate to let them down and never stay with them.

I emailed last week for last minute tickets and they called today! I was surprised! We are only about 4 hours away, so it won't be too long of a drive. I will post the show date when I know. Now, what should I wear? They said bright colors and no white. The audience always looks great. I have to represent the Dis. Maybe I should wear lime green!

Are you sure they are bats? Sounds an awful lot like the squirrel infestation I had once in an attic. They nest in January and give birth in the spring. Long story, but it was nasty and expensive to take care of. Good luck!

I am in a lot of pain today - had some pelvic ultrasounds done to try and determine what my problems are. More appointments in the next coming weeks.

Hope you are feeling better Cheryl...hugs.

you have to wear RED ----------

and no YELLOW either

I wore yellow at The Price is Right - the last time we went - about 2 years ago and was in the front row and it looked white to me. Not bad, but not good.

Here is the scoop on Toy Story from All Ears

Disney Cruise Line will debut a new musical on the Disney Wonder
this spring -- "Toy Story-The Musical." This marks the first
time this popular Disney Pixar classic has been adapted for the
stage. "Toy Story-The Musical" explores the true meaning of
friendship as Buzz Lightyear and Woody transform from jealous
adversaries to best friends with an unbreakable bond. The show's
elaborate costumes capture the vibrant colors and playfulness of
the animated characters. Guests of all ages will delight in an
original collection of show tunes that retell the story in a fun
and energizing way.

If my memory serves me right, Dreams is not going to be used as one of the shows any longer. I hope it isn't Golden Mickey's they are doing away with. I'll find out next week. But I do know that several of the CM's went to one of the shows in December 'cause it was going to be replaced.

I'll find out.

They do have new entertainers and dancers since about September and they do a great job. Several things were added to Dreams and Golden Mickey's at the beginning of the shows, like jokes and the Captain coming out and talking.

I'll get the additional scoop next week for sure.

Annette - congrats on the weight loss! And congrats on getting tickets to see Oprah!

Oprah's studio is in downtown Chicago and the DVC preview center is out in Schaumburg - about 27 miles away. Think going from downtown Detroit out to Novi if that helps.

While the preview center is nice I don't know if I would make a special trip to see it. Basically it is a store front with pictures and a large light up map, then there are the one bedroom and studio AKL walk throughs. Good if you haven't seen them, but if you have there isn't much else to see. The rest of the center are sales offices. Of course if you are into shopping Woodfield is the place to go.

Here's a link to their website with directions on how to get there both by car and public transportation. http://www.shopwoodfield.com/infodesk/directions.html

As for what to wear to Oprah. I had a friend who was just there when the Osmonds were on. She said they spend a lot of time seating you by what you wear (color etc.) so it doesn't look like one big group. She was in bright green and black and did end up in the front row on one side. Not sure if that helps or not.

Have fun!

Good morning everyone!

Mandy - sorry to hear about the bats. :scared1:

Cheryl - sorry to hear you are having more problems. Hope you are feeling better soon. :goodvibes

off to the Social Security Office this morning to get a few challenges straightened out. Gotta love our Government !!!!

I just heard that the prem-ear at sea for Toy Story is going to happen on the Wonder in March, 2008.

Do you think we'll get to see it during the Member cruise, or is all the entertainment different?

Ok, one thing I am not liking about the "nice" weather. It has woken up the bats! We didn't realize it but we have bats in our attic and we think we actually trapped them when we added more insulation and now it sounds like they are scrambling through one of our walls!

Ewww! :scared1: (Never a dull day on the Disboards!)

Congratulations....keep up the good work!:thumbsup2

Good morning.

Mandy - I do hope you get your bat problem solved soon. I remember Carol goind through the squirrel incident a few years ago. That was a nightmare.

Cheryl - I hope they find out what is causing you this pain and can stop it soon.

As for weight loss - awesome Annette. I have made a deal with DS. He needs to work on his Personal Fitness Merit Badge so we are going to work on it together. I am paying him $2 a pound to keep me motivated. We will see if it works.

Annette-
CONGRATS on the weight loss!! Awesome!
I somehow managed to gain almost 2lbs in the last 36 hours :( Go figure. I am sure it is one of those fluke fluctuating things.

I heard about Toy Story, sounds neat. Didn't see the Golden Mickey's though, hubby was being a slight crab that night so we didn't go to see it.

I am almost positive they are bats. The previous homeowner had bat problems before and she never really took care of anything so I am sure whatever she did, it wasn't done properly and they have come back. I have read they are territorial so if you don't seal it up they will come back, and when you do seal it up, they tend to hang around the same area. Just our luck I swear!

Kay-
Don't even get me started on the gov't, I swear they are so bass ackwards sometimes it's nuts! Good luck with that!

Just got great news at work-not. Our MMIS contract lost thier bid to renew the contract. Now we have to train a whole new set of contractors. oh what fun

Speaking of Chicago. Mary, I put in for a training class that is being offered in both Orlando and Chicago. So it looks like I have a 50/50 chance of seeing you guys in May.

If my memory serves me right, Dreams is not going to be used as one of the shows any longer. I hope it isn't Golden Mickey's they are doing away with. I'll find out next week. But I do know that several of the CM's went to one of the shows in December 'cause it was going to be replaced.

The "new CM's" should be in Toronto right now rehearsing the new show along with learning their parts on the shows currently on the ship. I believe they will bring them in sometime in February and overlap with the current performers who will at some point be going on vacation. I believe there is usually an overlap if my memory serves me right. I know when they introduced Twice Charmed on the Magic during our May cruise in 2005 through the Panama Canal that is what they did. I'll have to check through my connection with the dance captain on the Wonder to see what they are doing.

Kay-be sure to check it out while you are on the ship and give us the update. I am wondering if on the 3 night if they will really do away with Dreams or if they will take away Hercules? I hope not. I love Hercules and miss it not being on the Magic anymore. I think they should be Hercules on the Magic and do away with Twice Charmed. JMHO.......
