Michael since you will soon be sailing on the Wonder see if they can tell you who are Captain and Cruise Director will be for our cruise.

Mary, we are crusing Aug 13-16 for the Wonder's 10 year anniversary of their maiden cruise with Ken and Shari and a bunch of our other friends. Since it is one month before, I'll do some checking then too to see what's going on. And, if Clayton's on, I'll drive to bribe him with Girl Scout Cookies to see if he knows anything about entertainment and stuff!

Well, my original plans for my June vacation (Southern Cal with Sandi and her son), so I spent this past week and especially last night planning my new vacation.

I thought about doing to Disneyland for my birthday, but decided that since I have the cruise plus a WDW trip in December, that I wanted to do a non-Disney trip. So instead I decided that I would head down to Williamsburg, VA, Frederick, MD, Gettysburg, PA and Valley Forge, PA and overload on history. :lovestruc

I ended up making all of my hotel reservations last night and now all I need to do is figure out a dinner reservation or 2 for Williamsburg and pack. Here is what I decided to do:

6/18 Drive from NH to Williamsburg (this is the one really long drive of the trip)
6/19 & 20: Colonial Williamsburg
6/21: Jamestown & Yorktown
6/22: extra day to do anything that I want in the area. Maybe more time at Colonial Williamsburg maybe something else.

6/23: drive to Frederick, MD. Along the way stop in Fredericksburg to visit the battlefield and stop at the battlefielf near Frederick. (Moncton or similar?)

6/24: Go to Antitem and Harper's Ferry. That evening drive to Gettysburg

6/25 & 26: Gettysburg

6/27: Lancaster plus drive to King of Prussia

6/28: Visit Valley Forge in the morning and then head home.

Yes, I am planning on getting lots of stamps in my National Parks Passports. :goodvibes

Wow, what a trip. Sounds like fun. I like the history stuff. It is very interesting to me. Especially to see where battles have been fought and stuff. It is hard to believe because alot of the battle grounds are so small. Sorry, just remembering when DH was in Virginia for a school and when I came out we went to the park where the great crater is.

Have a fun time! :yay:

Morning!

Happy Monday!

Have a good day!

Take care

Robbie - sounds like a great plan! I hope someday to get to Colonial Williamsburg.

Linda - what a great cruise. Be sure and tell Ken and Shari hi from us. I'm really hoping Clayton is on the Member Cruise. If you see him give him our best as well. He's the best!

Morning Everyone!

Thought I would post a question of the day. We will get to know each other better and have more to talk about when we meet.

Feel free to jump in with a question if you like.

What is your favorite ride at WDW-Florida or Disney-California?

Morning Everyone

What is your favorite ride at WDW-Florida or Disney-California?

My favorite ride is Peter Pan. I just love flying in the ship around Nederland. I just wish the lines were shorter. I could go on it over and over again.

I am not sure if I really have a favorite one.. but I suspose it would be soarin.

I am not a roller coaster fan at all.

Good Monday Morning!

My favorite ride at DW is a toss up between Rock'N'Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror. I love them both. In fact, the first time we took my niece and newphew on RNRC I was screaming so loud with my niece I lost my voice! :scared1: But it was sooooo worth it! :lmao:

not sure I have a favorite ride but just returned from dw and the podcast cruise and so looking forward to the members cruise.

My favorite ride has to be peter pan. I love the city lights and how Tinkerbell lights up the ship. :goodvibes

I can't just pick one so I'll divide them up this way.

Favorite classic ride - Pirates of the Caribbean. I prefer the Disneyland one to WDW but they are both great.

Favorite new ride - Soarin'! With Toy Story Mania a close second.

Hey, everyone!
I'm back.
Had a very interesting "vacation" at WDW. Missed Mark and Mary to pieces. We (kids and I) checked in Sunday night. I picked up Mike after he got off work at 11p. Monday we went to Jetty Park (gaRry Park) to watch the launch, then caught the Star Trek movie. Tuesday we spent the day at Aquatica. Wednesday we hung out (kids did some school), went to Sea World, and then took KT to her youth group. Thursday we did Busch Gardens. Friday we checked out of the cabins, went to see Star Trek on IMAX, and then went to Disney Quest.

Came home nearly daily to take care of the cat and shower. Also had to watch Survivor Thursday night we could see it on the DVR.

Never stepped foot in a Disney park!

Weird, weird "Disney vacation" for us.

No way I'll catch up with the 20 some pages since I've been gone! Hope I didn't miss anything too important. :)

Good morning everyone - happy Tuesday!

Nice to see some posters we haven't seen in a while answering the questions. Hopefully we'll get more of the lurkers out and posting especially as we are getting closer to cruising. :)

Karen - we missed being with you guys. That is certainly a "unique" Disney vacation. :lmao: So can you give us all a quick review of the cabins at Fort Wilderness please.

The cabins were great. Very rustic. Roomy. Well stocked. We were in the 2700 loop so very close to the front.

Every cabin has a big porch with a picnic table and grill. Sadly, no fire rings throughout the entire campground (I totally understand why) so pie mold making is going to be tricky down here.

You enter the cabin in the kitchen/dining room area. When we first got there, the door under the sink was busted off. We were busy and didn't have a chance to tell anyone about it, but they must have known b/c someone came to fix it. :) Housekeeping does your dishes every day. That's kinda sad b/c one day they ran the dishwasher for two glasses and a bowl.

Then to the right is the living room area. Very comfy and nice. See that big wall with the quilt hanging on it? Two things.....that's a murphy bed! And secondly, they bolt that quilt to that wall pretty darn good. I know, b/c I wanted it for my own house and I checked. (Just kidding. I'd never have stolen it, but it was cute and some of the fabric had hidden mickeys on it. They should sell that kinda stuff in their gift shops. I'd rather have that then another t-shirt!)

IMG_5824.jpg

The bathroom was nice. Very roomy. All 4 of us could be in there brushing our teeth at the same time. The shower got used ONCE all week. By NICK! The rest of us jumped in the shower when we came home to feed the cat. :)

IMG_5827.jpg

The bedroom was a bit cramped. And not a lot of big drawer space. We ended up living out of our suitcase. Which isn't a big deal for us b/c we didn't have that much. :) The bed is a full sized which is a little tight for us. After a couple of nights, Mike ended up sleeping on the murphy bed and I slept in the bedroom. Yeah, kinda weird, but we needed sleep. :) Kids slept in the bunk beds and loved it. :) Very comfy beds for sure.

All in all it was a great vacation. Not DVC, but much better than a straight hotel room. The campground was amazingly quiet. I've been to some where there is craziness and partying well into the night. Very peaceful and beautiful there. Our Sunday check in through Friday check out in May was 170 points.

The only thing missing from the vacation was Mark and Mary..... but we'll catch up with you in September. :)
