09/12/10 - DVCers Take Over the Wonder (S.S. Member Cruise 2010) - Thread #2

WHEN EVER WE HAVE BREAKFAST AT OLIVIAS WE USUALLY GET THE SAME WAITER. I THINK HE IS FROM NYC ABOUT OUR AGE, VERY FRIENDLY GOOD MEMORY, I HAVE REMEMBERED HIM AND FOR SOME REASON HE REMEMBERS ME.

Ok. I can barely contain my excitement so I am going to share it here since only fellow Disers would understand the other day I posted that we made ressies for NYE and also my b-day (the 1st). DH asked where I wanted to eat on my B-day. I told him that I had made ressies for Tutto Italia. He asked if that was where I really wanted to eat for my B-day. I said it was fine but if I could eat anywhere I would want to try the new Queen's Room at Victoria and Alberts. He said to go for it! Well they only have 4 tables so I figured it would be a slim chance. They had one table for two available on my birthday I am so excited we get to go!!!!

WOW!!! I didnt realize they had only 4 tables. How far normally ahead do you have to book that? Id like to find out how you and Wally enjoyed it, Maybe i could book it for our anniversary next year.

I guess I got lucky since it is new and perhaps not widely known about just yet We have been to V & A twice in the main room. I have not yet been able to get a ressie for the Chef's table. Maybe one day. Wally and I take pictures of our food there so we will be happy to give you a trip report on the dining experience!

SINCE YOU AND WALLY ARE VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE AREA, MAYBE YOU CAN REFRESH MY MIND ABOUT WHERE LAURA AND I CAN BUY SOME PARROT BAY RUM ONCE WE ARRIVE AT AIRPORT. WE KNOW THE AREA BUT HAVE NO CAR. SO THE POSSIBILITIES WE KNOW ARE GOODINGS GROCERS AND OKW STORE WHICH ARE BOTH WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE. I CANT REMEMBER IF YOU CAN BUY LIQUOR IN THE MALL IN THE HOTEL AT THE AIRPORT AND TAKE ON THE BUS TO WDW. PARROT BAY IS USUALLY ABOUT $10 A BOTTLE DOWN THERE AND YOU CAN GET BANANA AND KEY LIME FLAVOURS. UP HERE IN CANADA LIQUOR IS TWICE AS MUCH AND YOU CANT GET THOSE 2 FLAVOURS IN PARROT BAY. I CAN GET IT IN MAIBU RUM BUT THE COST IS AROUND $25 A BOTTLE.

Don't ya just hate that morning. Sounds like us going to DTD before heading home. Of course I am going to get my chocolate from Ghirhadelli to bring home. But on the brite side, four weeks and we will be sailing away and you'll be back at Disney!!!!

Wow, I've been away for several months and I had hundreds of pages to read and then find a new thread! You guys have been SO BUSY! I had no idea Disboards would be like this. This is so cool. We've been a bit busy ourselves. We have a new baby- due last week... Born in May.. just a bit early. It's really my granddaughter, but since they live only 3 miles away, we live the drama. We have a 15 month granddaughter by the same daughter so two babies has been quite fun. We are REALLY ready for the cruise. It will be hard to be away and at Disney with the rest of the family but we also can't wait for a break. In the midst of all the fun, my DH and I were being pulled behind the boat by a "friend" who decided we should jump bigger waves on the tube and we crashed into each other. My DH's head hit my shoulder. 6 weeks later, my arm is still broken. So I'm learning to type a little slower now. However, all that being explained, I'm still planning to make buttons for those that want them! I have the supplies and some ideas for the design. I luckily had all my FE gifts completed before we started with the baby in May so we're ready for 11 days of Disney and cruising!! Woo hoo!!

Congratulations on the birth of your grandchild. My husband and I became grandparents to a little girl in March and we are thrilled.

Sorry to hear about your accident...sending you pixie dust for a full recovery.

I do hope they bring back Spectromagic soon. It was nice to get to see MSEP but I like Spectromagic better. It is very hot and crowded so we are making our way back to OKW. We are in one of the refurbished studios and it is so pretty! Earlier today we had lunch at Olivia's and we had the key lime tart for dessert. OMG that was SO good! We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing in the pool. Then we had dinner at The Wave before heading to MK. I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

well i just got home from the smokey mt. we had a great time .i had to take the hole family .because they are not going on the cruise with me. now im ready for the cruise with out them.

We are getting closer and closer to the cruise, bet the mountains were wonderful... glad you had a good time
