Hello all. I like the pictures of the dogs. They are beautiful.

It was not as hot here today. I think the thunderstorms that rolled through last night cooled things off. It was still a little humid though.

I am so happy that the week is almost over. It has been a busy one thus far. I hope everyone's week is going well.

Hi all!! We got the storms last night just around 6pm - CRAZY rain - DH was laughing because the pool guys had gotten done a little before 5pm and the pool was filling - so he said the storms would help fill the pool!!:)

We ordered the lumber for the deck today. My dad and I are starting on Saturday - DH will join in on Mon since he has to work the weekend. I can't wait to float on a raft in my pool!!!

Have a good night all!!

OHHHHHHHHHHH I SEE DEBBIES LIGHT IS LIT:rotfl2:HI DEBBIE!!

 Hi Ian!

You could may say my light was on but nobody was home. :lmao: I was not on the computer most of the night because I was putting the FE gifts together. It was too hot to be outside tonight so I thought I'd work on that. :thumbsup2 September WILL be here before we know it like it or not! :upsidedow

WOW that is HOT! YIKES!!! Hope you don't get the thunderstorms. Maybe a bit of rain will cool things off though.

It is wonderful to watch them run. So, she has learned some Houdini tricks with her collar :lmao:

Terrie

We could only hope. Right now it is kind of yellow looking outside and the thunder is rumbling.

:rotfl::rotfl: Yes she has. She is very smart.

Here's to a quiet rest of the week Marsha. It is half over to the weekend. Just keep that in mind. ;)

The rain sure does help fill up the pool. Hope it fills fast for you so you can float around real soon! :yay:

Well, the girls want the computer and I'm getting tired. Have a nice night.

With all the dog talk, I need to tell you guys what my mean DH did today. It was in the low to mid 90's today with a heat index of almost 100. He came home from work at about 3:30 and let our dog, Pooh Bear, outside. When I got home at 5:45, SHE WAS STILL OUTSIDE!!!! I thought she was literally going to die. I've never seen her tongue hang so far from her mouth as she panted!!! I know that's how dogs cool off, but she looked like she was struggling to breathe. I got her a cold bowl of water and made her lay down on the pergo floor underneath the ceiling fan. She was breathing sooo fast! I called DH and let him have it! Poor thing, she's SIXTEEN years old and isn't in the greatest of health, and I really thought she was going to die of heat exhaustion tonight!

So, you all have my permission to slap him silly when we're on the ship for animal cruelty. Thankfully she's ok now! DH is really a good guy, I think he forgot to let her in as he was probably in a rush to get to his second job. So, maybe I should cut him a little slack. But only a little!

Oh yeah, and we have a RACCOON that hangs out in our backyard and hides underneath the shed. Nice, huh?!

Debbie, I am so glad Pooh Bear is all right. 16! Wow what a great age :thumbsup2

Terrie :)

Debbie - I'm glad Pooh Bear is ok. That heat yesterday was horrible. I know Tessa likes to come in a lay in front of an air conditioner vent.

And a raccoon under the shed is not fun. We have one that is totally destroying my garden. Last night it took alot of my sweet corn. :headache: I am so mad about that. I told DH we need to go on a coon hunt this weekend. :rolleyes1

GOOD MORNING, Another hot sunny day here. We havent had rain in a couple weeks. About 1mile away they got a downpour but we didnt get a drop. Another day of outside sweating bullets working in yard. We feed a couple stray cats and noticed a Raccoon helping himself to the food. I carefully chased him away but they are nasty.
When its hot like this our Lab as soon as I let her out she makes her way to the stairs of the pool and walks in for a swim. Does a big circle and get out. If you were in the pool she use to swim up to u and grab on to your arm with her mouth. I used to have to duck under the water as she swam over me. My arms and shoulders cwere getting all marked up:rotfl2:

My DMIL has a big wooded ravine lot. She feeds 1000s of birds a few ducks that have been coming for generations and a wild turkey who was well known in St Catharines for chasing cars. She is DISABLED with MS and 80 so she cant walk. She has about 5 racoons she feeds every night. She puts out a tray of peanut butter and crakers. They come and stand looking in the door waiting. Sounds cute but if they ever got in the house they would trash the place. You have to know my DMIL she dances to her own drum:rotfl2: Just ask LAURA.:rotfl2:

Those darn raccoons! I'm sorry they got your sweet corn! DH told me to get the shoot this raccoon with a bee-bee gun! :lmao: (Is that how you spell it?) Yeah, right, ME put ANY type of gun in my hands? NOT HAPPENING!

That's so cute that your dog takes a dip in the pool like that! When we had a pool, we took Pooh Bear in it and she couldn't swim fast enough to the edge. It was hillarious! She HATES the pool.

:rotfl2: I could just see all those raccoon faces waiting for their peanut butter and crackers!

JUST THOUGHT ID POST SOMETHING SO OUR THREAD WOULD BE BACK ON FIRST PAGE:rotfl2:

 PAGE TWO?! After ALL the activity on this thread the last couple of weeks???!!!!

Wow looks like it was a slow day today! :cool1:

That's surprising! Where is everyone?! :confused3

Oh I love raccoons! We live next door to a park with a preserve area. Sometimes we see raccoons, possums and armadillos. Once I spotted one of the two panthers that also live there, but that was many years ago. I never could think of raccoons as nasty since I have such a fond memory of them from chilhood. As a kid, when I was about 10 years old, we used to go to the beach and since I am not a fan of the ocean I'd take off toward the lighthouse that was in a very wooded preserve where the public was not allowed to go and fenced in. I'd bring oreos and chips, climb the fence and then go find a clearing in the wooded brush. There, I would sit down and just wait for the raccoons to find me. They always did and it was such a neat feeling to have them come real close and take cookies from my hand. Once I can remember a mother raccoon bringing her two babies with her along with a few other adults. The babies were even more adventurous than the adults and besides eating oreos they would get into my lap, stand up on their hind legs to peer at my face and then touch my face, exploring it all over with their tiny soft paws.

Terrie :)

Debbie - I hear ya. A gun in my hand :rotfl2:. That is a laugh. But we live in the country and have 35 acres of timber land out behind the house so we have lots of wildlife.

Terrie - just no amardillos here!

Ian - Tessa does not get in our pool. The first day we had here when she was a pup she accidentally backed in to the pool. Sank right to the bottom. DH was right there and pulled her out by the nap of her neck. So she does not go in to pool.

Chris-I found it really interesting to read about detassling. It just proves everyday we learn something new. I can either drive out to eastern Long Island to buy corn at a farmstand or the grocery store where it is 12 ears for a dollar-on sale. My DDIL is from Columbus Junction. Julie and my son did that big bike ride across Iowa. Her parents followed in a RV. She also did it when she was younger with her dad. My son loved it. The country, towns, and all the warm people who cheered them on with water, lemonade and even pies!
Only my DH and I are going to the Food & Wine also. Have you picked any seminars? I'm going to try to get us into the 3D Dessert Discovery and Celebrating Family & Friends in the Kitchen.
Vicki

We just logged into the DVC website to see the words "Your loan has been paid in full" It was the second 150 points we bought at OKW. We now "own" our DVC free and clear!!! WOO-HOO!!!!!!! (I would post some bananas doing the happy dance, but I'm on the laptop and I only have five smilies to choose from! (That's one of them. LOL)
