chris,
Enjoy your time at wilderness lodge. The first time we stayed as a family was at the wilderness lodge. This is before we became dvc members. We stayed in a room overlooking the lobby and remember sitting out on one of the benches watching the people and reading a book with my son. This is when we fell in love with disney. We wish we could have purchased at WL but got into the how long you can own..... We stayed there 4 years in a row before joining, wow ssr would have been paid for in those 4 trips. Anyway some nice things about wl since you have not stayed there. When you check in see if they have an opening for the flag raising one morning. You will not be able to get to the park when it opens but the view is worth it. We have pictures and a certificate and to watch my boys raise the american flag with the ranger still gives me goosebumps. They let you stay up there for a bit and take pictures and the ranger will take pics for you as well as give you a history of the lodge as well as the lodge it was built after. I will try to post a pic on here if I can figure it out. Also take a night to sit on the beach or by the pool and watch the water parade. We also like to sit in front of the fireplace and look at the totum poles to identify all the animals.
Ok I have taken enough space.
Scott
