09/12/10 - DVCers Take Over the Wonder (S.S. Member Cruise 2010) - Thread #1

Hello All! Haven't been on as much because we were in NC attending DH's cousin's funeral. It was his mother's (she will be cruising with us) first cousin but they were more like sisters.

It was a qucik but long trip. We had a blowout going. Something fell from a truck and slashed our rear right tire. DH was on the side of 95 South changing a flat. We have AAA but it was quicker to do it ourselves. So, yesterday we had to get a new tire before the drive back. We got home this morning and had to head to work. I am exhausted.

I enjoy people watching too. I say I am going to read on the cruise but never do.

I am getting more and more excited about the cruise too. At least you get to have a Disney fix before the cruise. Enjoy DL.

Your Croc flip flops should be fine.
There is one recommended dress up night on the cruise. Some people choose to dress up and some do not. The characters are dressed up in their finest attire.

Good thing no one was hurt and it was just a blowout...whew.

I always say I am going to try people watching and never get around to it Maybe this time I will give it a whirl.

I am also getting REALLY excited about our crusie! I can't wait to meet everyone

Oh I am so glad to know that the dress up is recommended. Wally and I like being comfy over dressy. Although, I do like to see the characters dressed up in their finest

This has been such an "off" week on our thread!!! Nobody's been on constantly like usual. I think everyone is enjoying the last few weeks of Summer. There are things I like about every season, but I like EVERYTHING about Summer! So I'm always so sad when school is getting ready to start because I know the warm sunny days are coming to an end.

I know! I am surprised. I guess you are probably right. I have been slammed with work and just pop in here and there when I can. I wish we had 4 seasons. We are toying with the idea of moving to TN when we retire to experience four season but I am not sure if we can be that far away from WDW

Marsha - so sorry to hear about your MIL's cousin and the frustrating experience you had on the way down there. I'm glad you made it there and back safely...so many times people don't pay attention on the highways and it can turn into an ugly situation with a vehicle in an emergency stop.

Thank you. We were blessed. There was a truck behind us that saw our tire blow & was able to get in the other lane. We were in the fast lane going over 70 so I am thankful that everything worked out. And, this incident reminded me that there are some nice people in the world. One gentleman stopped to ask if we needed help. Very nice of him. I was just trying to keep DS still while we were standing on the side of the road. DS had a first during this incident. He said he had to go potty so he went to the potty on the side of the road and asked where does the pee go. That made me laugh.

TGIF! Today is DH's Friday since he has off tomorrow. Does anyone have any plans for the weekend?

My Friday is shot because I have to be in the office in the morning, then teach a class during the day and the I have two classes back to back in the evening. I am either going to Bradenton with one of the dogs for grooming and handling with my partner on Saturday if the dog needs it. I will assess him sometime tomorrow or Saturday. My MIL is coming down Saturday to pick Longans from our tree she gave us several years ago. Sunday I think I will catch some movies with DH and maybe hang out with my BFF

I have been busy at work too.

Having 4 seasons can be nice except it gets old after a while, especially after the winter we just had. Why TN?

Good thing everything turned out ok It is nice to be reminded from time to time that there are nice people out in the real world. One of my very favorite things about WDW and the DIS is how nice everyone is. Being involved in competitive dog sports, you don't get to see that very often I have had so many disappointments and shock over how some people treat others in my chosen hobby that it's just not as fun anymore as it used to be. I get much more enjoyment from being here chatting with Disney people who are SO much NICER!!!!!!

I definitely will This crusie is my attempt at trying new things! TN has no income tax and also I figured the winters should be fairly mild compared to other states. I fell in love with the Chattanooga area

It is a fruit. It is very popular with Asians. I like them ok.
