I thought this would mean we would not have the pleasure of your company on this thread anymore. :confused3 I wish you well as well. Enjoy your upcoming trips, see you on Cruise Critic boards.:surfweb:
I decided to hang around. I have never posted on Cruise Critic.

As another person said that if this was their first cruise on DCL it would probably be their last. That is not attacking DCL, just sharing disappointment with the experience. I am not sure why it is ok for another poster to say such a thing and not for me. But whatever.

I thought about posting some more pictures since I have a spot of time.

Amber--it's funny that you mentioned this. I've often wondered why there are no flies at the buffet, and so few insects anywhere on the island! We so some huge dragonflies at the beach, but they're the only insects we saw. We did see a lot of fish in the water, including some really pretty ones that were actually jumping out of the water around our feet.

Beth

DH made this comment that they dropped off huge DDT bombs before we arrived. Seriously not only were they not at the buffet, they weren't around any of the tables. It was very nice and something we thought Disney did right with the whole island experience. Not having to tender was just da bomb.

We came back to Scuttles after an hour at Serenity Bay and DD was just covered head to toe in sand from the treasure hunt. We then took her to the family beach. She was hungry as were we and then she started not liking the salt water. We had the buffet and gosh darn it if it was like a HUGE treat to have potato chips.

It was like heaven getting back on the ship at 12:30 and having the Goofy pool and hot tubs to ourselves. DH and I also got to spend about 20 minutes each (not with each other but alone sadly) at Quiet Cove.

Stacy, I love my baby Polar Bear. I named her Snowflake and she is sitting nestled between Snowball's front legs. Thank you very much.

Well, did any one else forget to pack anything?
DH forgot his sunglasses and bought new ones at Orlando airport.
I forgot some of my make-up.:scared1:
I also forgot some of my special Secret Mickey gifts.
Cruise was still great. 379 days until the next one.

BTW, our Asst Server brought us two beverages at a time every night. We never had to order after the first night. We were at a table of four with our friends. They have never cruised on DCL before and keep commenting about how friendly everyone was. From guests to staff. Their last cruise was on Princess to Alaska. They said no one was friendly. They were amazed that everyone they passed would say hello.

I soaked a big jar of cherries from Sam's in Brandy while were gone to make chocolate covered brandied cherries. DH told me not to drop them off at DD's school today.

For those who tape TAR, just note there is no Cold Case this week. We had to manually set up the timer to record an hour after the normal TAR ending. This is just in case football runs long (Which always happens).

Here are some pictures taken at WDW after your cruise. We met up with Pfishgirl and DH and spent Sat PM and Sunday with them.

This was my first Disney cruise, and I will be going again. It wasn't perfect, but it was better than I thought it would be, and I and our entire family enjoyed it. Nothing is perfect.

You know, we personally had some pretty rough things with this cruise but did we have probably the best vacation that we've been on together? YES!! It was GREAT!!! Are we excited and planning on doing another one?? ABSOLUTELY!! You know we can list things that weren't great: went through a tropical storm, got sunburned the next day, an asst server that was slightly lacking. But on the other hand I have a list too long to post of the GREAT things on the cruise. Overall though, I would do a DCL EVERY week if we could I think. I say all of this to state everyone has had something that was less than desirable but the difference between most of us and others is that we all went into this with a positive attitude and because of that we were able to have an INCREDIBLE trip that we will treasure while others will probably swear off DCL for good and then lurk around Disney threads. :rolleyes1

I apologize in advance if I got a little picture happy in my post, but it was such a great trip that it was hard to pick which ones. Being an introvert, I want to thank each and every one of you for being so friendly and welcoming before, during, and even after the cruise. I was unsure of what to expect from the whole "meet" thread thing as I had never done it before, but it certainly added a great dynamic to the trip. I hope we get to cross paths with you again in the future and Happy Holidays to everyone! :goodvibes

- Bill

(Oh and these were taken with the camcorder and not even the regular digital camera. I REALLY like this camera! :thumbsup2)

I think that was very well said, and I agree wholeheartedly. It's too bad that the immature and self-centered will just ignore it.

You were there on pirate night? I don't even understand that comment as we were paged to go get DD before the dessert was served and unfortunately had to leave early. Yes it takes a very "Disney-person" to say such a thing. :sad2:

I take that back, we were NOT at Palo on Pirate Night. But, DH did order a "special" pasta dish. The man behind us (near the windows) at Palo WOULD NOT shut up. Some people just like to hear themselves talk. That was him. :sad2: The couple on the other side of us DID get a page during dinner. It was funny, the pager went off and everyone checked their pagers. It was like a pager lottery. However, you don't want to win that one. Are you sure you were at Palo on Pirate Night? That could have been you behind us on the other side? If so, you were nice to us in person. We ate at Palo the night of St. Thomas.

Regarding St. Thomas, I want to live there! We fell in love with the island and plan to go back again. :cool1: Did anyone see how much gas was on St. Maarten ($5 A GALLON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)? That is crazy. On St. Thomas it was over $3. When we drove home from Florida the prices of gas kept getting lower and lower the closer we got to Texas. We love our Texas.

My wife works as a teacher at Head Start, and we saw a Head Start van on St Thomas. So, she's joking about how she could live down there and just relocate to the local Head Start school. What's funny is that I can do my job remote every day of the week, so it's not unthinkable....... ... :)

I would love it.

Jason:

It was nice visiting with you during Brunch. I'm sorry your family was sick during the cruise. We missed them at Brunch. I don't think we ever saw your wife or kids. I hope everyone is healthy for the holidays and that it was just the rocking of the boat that make them ill. I think everyone was a little green the second night. I brought three packs of Bonine and we went through two and half of them during the cruise. We were taking them every day just "in case". It worked. They even helped DD5 even after she was already seasick when we gave them to her. We highly recommend them! :thumbsup2

We loved St Thomas also and we would like to spend a week there soon. It was lovely. We are going to look into resorts.
