That was the name if it. Noemi said that it used to be on the menu and many people ordered it because they were repeaters and expected it. We hadn't really studied the PALO menu so we didn't know what was missing if that makes sense. I saw the manager bring out many dishes though so I am wondering if there were other special orders.

I am sure we were there on Pirate night which we chose on purpose as it was the least favorite of the published menus (not expecting to be paged). We totally missed dessert which was ok because we were stuffed. They don't do "small" side dish tastes. LOL

We actually preferred brunch because you could do small tastes, but the food was wonderful at dinner as well just very very filling.

One thing I will say about Palo is that the portions are larger than the main dining room meals. You walk out of there so full. I tried to pace myself to make room for the chocolate souffle'. I had heard about people ordering two souffle's and saving one for later and joked about getting two souffle's with Annemarie (not our server, but the one who stepped in to help our server). When our dessert came out she had TWO souffle's for me, one for now and one for later. Double Yum! :cool1: Sorry you weren't able to get dessert. They could have given you something to take with you for later. They also gave us a pannecotta (spelling?) to try. I tried to be polite and ate a single bite and it was delicious too. But, I was determined to finish my chocolate souffle'. I had waited a whole year for this thing! :hourglass

So funny. I forgot DH's black socks too. So all he had was the one pair he'd worn on the plane. I ended up buying a pair of Ralph Lauren black socks in Treasure Ketch for $16. He wore those, then I did laundry so he had two clean pair of black socks again. But he sure did give me hell the night he had to wear white athletic socks with his black shoes (I know - the horror, right?)

That just made me remember.... DS was called a "slob" by some Old Biddy in Walmart because he bought white socks :confused3 She said Men should where black socks at all times.. Her Husband wouldn't be caught Dead wearing white socks.. And she never once owned or wore a pair of Jeans because Jeans are too classless and trashy.. :sad2:

Hi everyone!!! :wave2:

I am here to remind EVERYONE of the DIS rules, and to please abide by them, no matter how hard it is.

Inserting popcorn smilies only fuels the fires, as does making rude or sarcastic remarks.

Remember as much as we love DCL, and all that it offers, that others may differ in opinion, and we should respect that. I do agree it in all about the delivery, so please think twice, and if you need it, there is an ignore button..

Thank you all, and LOVED your photos...

Have a great holiday..:grouphug:

So who's got the pic of the GROUP pic so I can see everyone I missed????:confused3 :confused3

I didn't see anyone take one at the Meet & Greet and I had a Migrain for the Pirate one... Brack has the Pirate one but they are still enjoying Disney I believe.. :guilty:

Thanks for the reminder. I didn't know about the ignore list. Thank you.

Oooooh... so it was her husband that we saw in the bermuda shorts, sandals, and knee-high black socks. :lmao:

DH wears the little ankle, white athletic socks with tennis shoes when he wears shorts, but always wears black when he wears jeans since he's usually in "dressier" shoes than tennis shoes.

Regarding St. Thomas, I want to live there! We fell in love with the island and plan to go back again. :cool1: Did anyone see how much gas was on St. Maarten ($5 A GALLON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)? That is crazy. On St. Thomas it was over $3. When we drove home from Florida the prices of gas kept getting lower and lower the closer we got to Texas. We love our Texas.

- Jennifer

Of course you don't drive nearly as far there and the cars are tiny!

My wife works as a teacher at Head Start, and we saw a Head Start van on St Thomas. So, she's joking about how she could live down there and just relocate to the local Head Start school. What's funny is that I can do my job remote every day of the week, so it's not unthinkable....... ... :)

I would love it.

There is a need for a pharmacist there as well. Temp position but requires a one year commitment. We seriously thought about that, but decided that spending one wonderful day there on vacation really did not give enough info to commit to a year assignment.

I am beginning to think we missed the real DISmeet:eek: . We hung out where the landyards were being distributed and no pictures where taken.

Thank you very much mammasita, I didn't know about the ignore feature but have added quite a few to my list now because of your post. :woohoo:

Thanks for the reminder. I didn't know about the ignore list. Thank you.

I didn't either. Does anyone know how it works? Would posts from anyone on the list just not show up? That'd be kinda funny if someone not on the list responded though... it'd be like seeing one of those one sided conversations.

Which reminds me of a funny story... When we were first moving to California, we had to come out for a week or so and look for a place to live. So we're out here, first time, coming from the middle of nowhere to "California" (and all that it implies). We're riding around in the rental car looking at places and get stopped by a red light. I look over and there's some man having a conversation with himself. I look at DH and say "Omg.. that man is just standing there talking to himself!" (Remember - small town girl in CA for the first time) DH calmly looks over and says "Don't be rediculous - he's not talking to himself. He's talking to that tree."

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Jim hates wearing socks of any color. It's a constant battle at our house! Once he started wearing Crocs (some of you heard the story of his two broken feet), he decided that socks were no longer necessary. Even now that it's cold, I have to fight to get him to wear them. It's like having a kid again! To make things worse, we stopped at the Crocs store at the Orlando airport and he saw the lined Crocs for winter. He wouldn't buy them, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a package show up on my front porch one of these days since I noticed that he was on their website last night!

I will mention, however, that he did wear black socks (and real shoes, too) with his tux while we were on the ship!

I thought the same thing at the airport I completely forgot about bluetooth headsets and was kind'a cracking up a lady that I thought was just talking to herself until she grabbed her ear to adjust the headset then I was OHHHHH, yeah forgot about those things.....:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Ohh yeah Beth glad you posted.
When I was filling your stocking the lady across from your room was not to happy about me putting stuff in your stocking. She told her husband, good god how many people are going to put stuff in that stocking. I turned and :teeth: and said a whole lot.
Everyone else I passed said it was such a neat idea and that they would want to participate next holiday so naturally I said DISboards.com

DH is practically attached to his. I tell him he's slowly turning into one of the Borg.

I would like to think the same with this guy but it was almost 5 years ago and the guy was obviously "residence challeneged." Who knows.. maybe he was asking the tree to be home? :confused3

The ignore feature is found in your user CP..

You just go into your user CP, and you will have options listed on the left hand side.

Buddy/Ignore lists is the one. You would add/remove anyone you just don't want to read their posts. You will see their name on the post, but NOTHING on what they may have written....

Hope it helps..

Or an Out House

I just got one, and use it only when in the car.. At least people think maybe I'm just singing to the radio or something ;)

She was not very happy with the four of us DIS families in a row right there. She had several very noisy children spread over three cabins in the area, and those noisy children chose to wake the rest of us before 7 AM most mornings. We made our displeasure known in various ways!

The Secret Santa was a lot of fun, as was meeting all of you that I did get to meet. There are a few that I didn't meet, but we were all so busy all of the time!

I've looked through most of my pictures and don't have any from the DIS meet. I still have to check a few, however. I can't find the pictures of the waves in the pool, either, but I might have taken those with the film camera and not the digital.

If you put someone on your ignore list, you'll see a little message that says the post was hidden because that person is on the ignore list. I had a few people on ignore for a while (no one from this thread), but it just became too annoying. I just don't read posts from those few people now!
