We booked our cruise while we were onboard last January. My DH has been trying to get me to go to Mexico for years and I figured a Disney cruise would be a good way to do it. We mostly picked this particular week because it worked in my DH's work schedule and we found out we could book one of the "secret porthole" rooms which saved us some money. The "no kids" decision was kind of spur-of-the-moment as we were talking to the booking person. We are pretty excited to be able to experience some of the adult shows and things we missed out on the last cruise. My DS is totally unhappy with us, but we're planning on booking another cruise onboard this time to hopefully make it up to him
We've always gotten verandahs in the past, so this will be a little different for us. I really like the price of an inside room, but don't think I could handle not being able to look outside, so this was a good compromise for us.

We want to do a few tastings but I think we are going to spread them out, since I am a lightweight. Shhh, don't tell anybody.
I'm not sure outside of Tritons is a good place to meet. At 3pm, I think there will still be people boarding right there in the Atrium and the crew does the PA announcement welcoming each family (noisy). I haven't done a Meet before, but I've read a lot of TR's where they used the Promenade Lounge as a meet location. It's just around the corner (aft) from the Atrium and Triton's. What do you think?
I think you buy a "ticket" for a tasting once you board, I'm guessing at Guest Services, which, coincidentally, is also right around the corner from the Atrium (forward). BTW, I am also not a huge drinker, and was planning to truly just "taste" the tequila drinks. We'll see if I can hold to that plan so I can be a little proper for Formal night on Monday!

A word of caution - try printing a draft version on regular paper and measuring it before you print the real thing. I wasted some precious cardstock last night on my sombrero. 
This has already been answered but I'll just confirm that the price was $15 each person and we booked at guest service after we got on board. Unfortunately, you can't book this one online yet but I wish you could.
We aren't big drinkers at all and I only like the girly stuff so I guess you could call us lightweights as well!! However, the Martini's were delicious and I'm hoping to try some new ones this time around. We had four samples: Red Apple, Le Creme, Chocolate, & an original dark Martini (which I almost spit back out!! lol). I loved the other 3 though. Gus also was picked to make a full size Lemon Drop (so tasty) and then they brought out a bonus sample called Wedding Cake (yum!!). As you can imagine, we were feeling pretty giddy after all this and then proceded straight to our cabin to pass out!!
I want to do the martini tasting! But probably on a different day from the tequila tasting! 
Do you think if I wear my Just Engaged pin, they will bring us the Wedding Cake one???? 
We got engaged in November, I finished school in December, and Community just got renewed for another season (meaning another year of work for DF), so we are celebrating a LOT of things on this cruise!!!!

Basically DF and I haven't been on vacation in 5 years. DF works in TV so his jobs and income are sporatic, and I decided to go to college about 5 years ago and have been working full time and attending classes full time, so we haven't had much spare time or money for vacations. I wanted to take a vacation to celebrate my graduation, and DF got a steady job finally (watch Community, Thursday nights on NBC *shameless plug*), so we started to make plans. When I heard about the Wonder coming to LA I told DF about it and was worried because he is not the worlds biggest Disney fan, he just kind of tolerates it for my sake. But he said it sounded like fun so we started saving and booked it last October!

Congrats on graduation!! I did the same thing and it took me 7 years so I can relate! After almost dropping out after my grandfather died suddenly, becoming caregiver to my 80 year old Gma and working full time I just sat there and cried at my graduation ceremony because I just couldn't believe it was happening.
That's awesome about Community! We love that show. I have to admit, I'm super jealous though. I went to school for Mass Media & Communication and I desperately wanted to work behind the scenes in the Entertainment Industry but just couldn't commit to those loooonnnggg hours since I needed to be home with the Gma. It'll be fun to hear what it's like!!
If they don't hook you up with a Wedding Cake Martini then we'll just have to buy you one to celebrate your engagement!
Just need to add the dowel and we'll be all set! This is my first sewing project but my mom helped a ton, so I think it turned out pretty ok

So our story is that my husband, 4.5 year old daughter and I are taking our 3rd MR cruise, but first time on DCL. We live in San Diego (only 2 hour drive to the port) and have found cruising to be great with a child, unfortunately on our last cruise, our daughter found the kids camp to be not so engaging and really did not want to spend any time there, leaving my husband and me with virtually no adult timeWhen I discovered DCL was coming to the west coast, I was able to convince my husband to spend the extra$ to give DCL a try and see if we can get a nice family vacation that includes a little adult time too
Funny thing is we have always cruised with another couple and their son who is 7, but he is not into Disney. They would not spend the money for DCL so they leave the day before us on the Norwegian Star and we will meet up with them while we are in port in Puerto Vallarta
I really hope we have a great cruise experience and possibly convince the hubby to think about another
Being a DCL newbie I have a question to those of you that have been there done that... is there pocket ship maps available somewhere? I am always so disoriented on where things are for several days when I get on board the ship...
Also, is it customary to tip the kids club counselors?
Hmm...good question about the pocket maps. I don't remember seeing any when we were on the Magic. I do remember doing a lot of wandering around trying to find stuff though
Tipping the kids club counselors isn't necessary, although there was one counselor that went out of his way to spend time with DS because he was a little shy with the other kids at that time, so we ended up giving him a bag of candy at the end of the cruise as a little "thank you". I do know if any of the non-tipped positions, like the counselors, get monetary tips they have to pool them with all the other CMs in their area. So, any money that the youth activities team gets is pooled among the whole group. I think this is also true if you give non-monetary gifts without a specific name on it.
We are just taking ours in one of those rolling cooler bags.... does anyone know if we are allowed to bring snacks on board (carry on or checked)??
