04/10/2011 Mexican Riviera Cruise

Finally arrived home after a delayed flight from LAX. It was nice to meet the few of you we did meet. I enjoyed my first-ever tequila tasting and learned a lot about blue agave!

My kids are still raving about their Journals (thanks mafpi!) and want to expand the picture section. So I ended up with a DCL picture package I didn't plan to buy, and the kids are already pressuring me to download my camera pics so they can print some out. Work, work, work!!! DS missed getting Daisy's and Donald's autographs and wants to bring this journal on our next cruise to he can finish up that page.

LovingRN, thanks for the tip about Hotel Finisterra in Cabo. We had a nice walk on the beach - well, except DS who complained about the coarse sand, just as you warned! But the kids really enjoyed a swim in the nearly-empty pool. I too look forward to reading TRs, but hope no one posts a pic with me in some awkward pose in the background.

We booked a place-holder ressie for use in 2013 or 2014. We are already booked on the Fantasy next June and are looking forward to that, but we're spoiled now by the short flight to LA vs the grueling cross-country flight to FL.

Mindy, seeing your D&B purse at brunch yesterday gave me the guts to drop a few $$ on one too. Can't wait to show it off. By the way, did you find that bracelet for the previous cruiser's daughter? I looked a little in the Cabo shops but didn't see one (though I saw something similar in PV.)

Woohoo!! That purse was a splurge but it was perfect for the cruise. Just enough room for my KTTW card, camera, lipgloss, and a few ginger pills. What color did you get?

I also was told about the Finisterra from a co-worker who went on the DCL MR cruise in 2005. We ultimately didn't have time to check it out but it sure sounded nice.


I've been spending all night sorting through the 1500+ pictures that we took between the two of us. I am so sad about the cruise being over. We drank our sodas out of our Drink of the Day cups at dinner tonight, which we had to make ourselves!!!!!!!!!! So depressing! Back to work tomorrow, ugh!

We only had an hour drive home from the port so we are home safely and all unpacked. Yay!! However, we are bummed that we didn't get to meet a single one of you! We boarded late so couldn't make it to the lounge meet and had already done the tasting a few times before so wanted to try something else. We should have hovered outside your tasting so we could have meet some of you but of course I didn't think about that until now.

Anyhow, we had a good time and just wanted to thank you for all the awesome FE gifts!! Some of you went above and beyond what was expected!! Sorry ours wasn't more creative but I barely got our bags packed in time let alone had time to make something cool.

Hope everyone had a great time!! We are booked at Aulani this Oct, the 5/19/12 Fantasy and the 9/2/12 New York Cruise so hopefully we"ll get to see some of you then!

Hi everybody. Thanks to all of you for your gifts. That was one of the highlights for my kids. It was fun explaining to neighbors what are FE was and why we had so many magnets on our door. I would hear kids say "Look at their door. They are so lucky!" We didnt rebook although it was tempting, and I know I will regret when, not if, we book another cruise. We decided upfront that we were going to buy the CD, so we took advantage of all the picture oppurtunities. My kids were a good sport. We had 217 pictures on my CD. Overall AMAZING. I love going to plays, and I would not have been disappointed if I had to pay admission to see the plays on the ship. My best feeling was seeing tears in my kids eyes as we left the ship. I knew right then that this trip was amazing and special to them and worth every penny.

Hey everyone! I agree with you all I am so bummed about the cruise being over! We did not get to rebook on board but I am sure we will be cruising again, I am thinking land and sea on the Dream We only got to meet a few a few of you but sure glad we did since we ended up running in to a few of you over and over. lol

Mindy, I am so impressed you took that many photos, I wish we did, we only took like 400. We didn't buy any on board because we weren't that impressed with them and for $20 a pop I better love it! lol

Don't know if anyone will be back to read this at this point but I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the gifts we got and for writing notes on our door. My kids loved coming back to the room to see if we got anything and were always so excited! I didn't even put out any of the stuff I bought for them until the last 2 days! You guys rock!

We also booked our next cruise on board...just the placeholder for now but I can't wait for the time to come again! This was the best vacation ever!!!!! I'll definitely look into a group much earlier next time so we get the full effect of the FE exchange!
