04/10/2011 Mexican Riviera Cruise

Does anyone know what current movies are playing on board? I tried to Google it but couldn't find anything.

We will be at the port early, and hard to miss us (5 kids, 4 boys and a girl that will be walking around everywhere!). If you see us, please come introduce and I can hand out the bubbles (while supplies last!). Lisa

And it looks like Puerta Vallarta is just about the same! :cheer2: I'm ready - I was caught (without a coat) in a short but heavy "blizzard" yesterday when I was running errands and I was thinking I would SO rather be in the warmth in Mexico :)

So my parents heard from another family who just got back from the most recent Disney Wonder cruise, and they are saying that suits/tuxes/sport coats and even ties aren't necessary. I'm assuming they were referring to formal night too. Does this sound right?! I was planning to pack the suit but if I don't have to then I definitely won't.

Would business casual (dress shirt and slacks) be sufficient then? Anybody know or have experience?

DF hates dressing up so he is wearing slacks and a polo shirt. I would never be able to get DF to wear a tie on vacation!!! (The horror!!!!) The formal/semi-formal attire is "suggested" but not recommended. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the info! I was dreading having to pack my suit... A polo and or dress shirt it is then!

One other question - what amenities are provided in the rooms, specifically toiletries? They provide shampoo, soap, etc right?

There are lots of threads on dress code and based on those plus what we saw last Jan, I would say that:
- For dinner in Palo, the dress code listed on the Disney website IS enforced. This is a dress shirt OR jacket for men and a dress or pantsuit for women. No shorts at all - and yes, we DID see someone asked to change who tried to get in wearing shorts to dinner.
- For brunch in Palo, no jeans and no shorts, but otherwise a polo shirt and khakis for men is fine and a sundress, skirt or nice pants and nice top are fine.
- For the regular dining rooms on regular nights, they say no shorts, tank tops or swimwear, although I have seen pretty much all of that and no one has ever been asked to leave that I've seen.
- For the regular dining room on formal night, I would say the good majority of people ARE dressed up in nice dresses and suits/tuxes. However, is it absolutely required? No.

If your DH is not comfortable wearing a suit, than you don't need to force him to wear one :) Business casual will be fine!

For us though, we don't often get a chance to really dress up, so while my DH will not be wearing a tuxedo, he will be in a three-piece suit and I'll be in an evening dress. For the rest of the nights, my DH is bringing khakis and dress shirts and a sport coat, but honestly, that's just because he likes to dress up and have fun with it. I'll be in a sundress/skirt most nights as well.

Good to know about Palo, thank you! I will make sure DF packs a dress shirt.

I can't comment on the toiletries. I'm assuming shampoo/soap/lotion is provided, just like a hotel?

Wow so I have missed a lot on here...

Let's see, we are from Sacramento, my name is Leslie (28) and my DH is Keith (28) and we ended up on this cruise because the 13th is our 4 year wedding anniversary, that is the short story. There is a longer one but I won't bore you with that :)

So from what I have been able to sort through we are doing a meet at the first tasting?? Is that right? DH and I are definetly planning on doing a few of the tastings, very excited about that!

Mindyjoy, did I read that your DF works on Community?? My DH will most definetly want to meet him, he LOVES that show!

We also have a meet on boarding day at 3pm at the Promenaude Lounge, although I don't know if DF and I will be able to make it, since our check-in time is at 12:30.

Otherwise I suggested a smaller meet at the first Tequila tasting on Monday.

Congrats on your anniversary!

So how is the weather on the boat?

Hopefully about the same!! :cool1:

For San Pedro on the day of our departure, the weather forecast is partly sunny with a high around 65 degrees.

It seems like this thread has slowed down this week. Is everyone busy packing?? :rotfl2:

Does anyone know if you can buy postcards and stamps on board? Can you mail postcards from the ship?? :confused3
