04/10/2011 Mexican Riviera Cruise

Great idea to get to know each other  I really can't wait to meet everyone and puts some faces with names ;)
So our story is that my husband, 4.5 year old daughter and I are taking our 3rd MR cruise, but first time on DCL. We live in San Diego (only 2 hour drive to the port) and have found cruising to be great with a child, unfortunately on our last cruise, our daughter found the kids camp to be not so engaging and really did not want to spend any time there, leaving my husband and me with virtually no adult time QUOTE]

I have family in Carlsbad and Oceanside. My mother grew up there. My aunt in Carlsbad is actually driving up on Sat before the cruise to meet us for dinner.

That is great that you guys are getting together... We actually live about 15 minutes South of Carlsbad. I do make it out to your state at least once or twice a year for some skiing... mostly Southern Utah (Brianhead) but my daughter and I flew to SLC just this past January to ski in Sundance (wish we got that invite every year!) So beautiful in Utah!

My husband and I are pretty excited DCL allows us to bring our own alcohol on - we like to enjoy a bottle of wine with dinner, so we plan on bringing our wine bottle tote. We are bringing one wine to have at our Palo dinner (fun to celebrate date night on our cruise:lovestruc.)
BTW Mindy, one fun idea:idea: you may want to think about that I am glad my husband and I did was a couple of years after we got married, when the wineries released vintages of wine from the year we were married, we bought several different ones and put them away as "Anniversary Wines" - we love to go out to a nice dinner on our anniversary and take one of these bottles to really make it special.

:thumbsup2 Yes, I TOTALLY learned my lesson last time when I wasted a whole bunch of magnetic paper :rolleyes1 So the store was out of paper this evening, but I did test on a regular piece of paper and it came out alright. I'll print out a couple extra just in case anyone needs one!

My printer didn't do well with the magnetic paper, so I printed these and laminated them. Then I will use the thin stick on magnets to hang these... they should work just fine pirate: I still can't get the sombrero to work! :badpc:

Those look great! I am printing mine out as we speak, don't know how well they'll turn out....:confused3
Not sure if we will have our FE before we leave either... I am looking for the notice that it is on it's way...

A Bevmo opened up today. Did a little shopping. This should be enough for two?:love:

This is a great idea, thanks!!!!

For those of you asking about maps .... if you are on the FE list you don't have to worry about bringing a map .... I can say no more. :rolleyes1

Computers are such a pain sometimes :( I work with a graphic designer who's given me tons of printing advice, so I've had pretty good success lately, but before that, I could never get things printed right.

I like your magnets! :thumbsup2

I'll be in your neck of the woods in a few months. My friend moved to Loveland and I am going out to visit her for a long weekend. Than in August I will be going to Limon.

Sounds fun! We go up to Loveland quite often, well, at least the edge of Loveland, to visit the outlet stores up there :thumbsup2

I'm so excited about this cruise being a 7 day cruise. Our previous cruise on the Magic and on the Wonder were only 4 days, as we did the 3 day park and 4 day cruise combo. It felt like we had hardly settled in, before we had to leave, so I am excited that this is a longer cruise. 7 days with no cooking, cleaning, work, school, cell phones or computers. I will completely disconnect, and I can't wait. Just one more week, one more week, one more week...

This is a great idea, thanks!!!!

Yeah!!!! You are the best:cool1::cool1::cool1:
Now I guess I will have no excuse for wandering around the ship aimlessly:confused:

Here is the thread.

I spent a good deal of time printing and laminating magnets tonight. :cool1: BUT I'm not done yet ... I found a typo on one and have to redo it, but too tired tonight. :surfweb:

I got this idea from the thread on the main page and thought I'd share what DF and I are going to do in case anyone else wants to do the same. We are going to put this candle as a magnet on our door in honor of Rebecca. I am not going to add her name or any words or anything because I don't want risk upsetting any of the CMs. Just a simple candle to honor her.

I printed mine on photo paper. Then I bought magnetic tape at Michaels.

Thanks so much for the link for the Sombrero, I had been looking all over for it.

Does anyone know if Clayton is still the Cruise Director on the Wonder?

It sounds like it, based on recent trip reports.
