04/10/2011 Mexican Riviera Cruise

Hi Ame, it is nice to meet you. I get the feeling that people are lurking but not posting, so I try to post every few days or so ... I love meeting and chatting with new people!

It sounds like you are not from the US; where are you from (if you don't mind me asking)?

I live near Hollywood and I go to Disneyland about once a month, so if you have any questions about what to do in Los Angeles before and after the cruise, feel free to ask! :yay:

Fiji, wow, I've always wanted to go there! Did you have a good time? Tropical islands and beaches are my idea of a vacation!!

Just wanted to wish all my fellow cruisers a happy Thanksgiving!!! Gobble gobble!

Glad to see some more people excited about the upcoming cruise. I checked in here a few months ago but there weren't many people. Our last cruise had about 90 people doing the FE so hopefully more people check in.

Thanks Calmom for offering to organize everything, I'll send you a pm in the next few days with our details.

Its going to be me, my DH, DS(9), and DD(6)

Mindyjoy we are also in the SF valley, in Porter Ranch and this will be our 4th Disney cruise.

Hi Actn, so glad to see more people post here. I try to post every few days but I had a busy weekend.

I know Porter Ranch very well. Several years ago I lived in Chatsworth off De Soto so I frequented the shopping area in Porter Ranch. I haven't been over there in several years and it has probably changed a lot!

What other Disney cruises have you been on?

I'm so glad more people want to do the FE ... this is my first cruise and I'm excited to try it! I'm a big kid!! :yay:

Here I am. We would like to particiapte in the FEs as well. Send my PM. We are getting close.

yaaaay, more people!!! Hi Calmom, nice to meet you!

I noticed you did the Mexican cruise with Disney before. I'm assuming you liked it since you're going back! :rotfl: I'd love to hear about the ports and what excursions you did, if any.

I would love to do the spa villa but I'm not sure it's in our budget. We splurged for the verandah room ... but I guess we have a few months to save up.

As far as FE - it's just me and BF, both "kids at heart" :dance3:

I'll go through my notes and post report shortly on the ports. We didn't do many organzied tours, mostly on our own last time. This time we might do more tours.

The FE is very fun. We just need 7 families to commit to get something in your extender every day; or we can pick two days and only have a few people. Nothing expensive, can be stickers, tattoos, etc. Fun!

I would love to read about what you did at port. I wish we could read some trip reports before we having to choose our activities!!!

4 MONTHS UNTIL OUR CRUISE :banana::banana:

Bumping up .... sigh ... I wish our thread was a little more active.

I hope everyone had a good holiday! Any crazy stories to tell??? Mine was pretty uneventful but DF who is visiting his family in Rhode Island had to cancel the family Christmas party on Saturday due to the blizzard. They lost power for almost 24 hours.

Just checking in after the hectic holidays! Now to start planning for the cruise which is 3 and a half months away.

We would definitely be committed to doing the FE for 7 days so count us in.

Thanks CALMOM for organizing the FE, hope more families join in.

Hi!!

I have been following this thread since we booked this cruise onboard the WBTA last Sept. Sorry I haven't had time to post yet!! I'm gonna make up for that now!! :rotfl:

I'm Chasity and will be traveling with my long time fiance, Gus. We are both in our mid 30's. This will be our 3rd cruise, all have been with Disney! We are DVC members at Saratoga Springs & Animal Kingdom Lodge. We've been to WDW at least 12 times and try to go at least once a year. We live about 40 miles from Disneyland and have been annual passholders for the past 10 years! Sorcerer Mickey is my favorite character and I have quite a collection. We are obviously big fans of Disney. However, we also love broadway shows (Wicked is our favorite), New York City, movies, our Xbox 360 & Wii, The Hollywood Magic Castle, summer nights at the Hollywood Bowl and are basically just entertainment junkies!!! I feel like I'm writing a personal ad. Anyone want to date us?? lol :rotfl2:

Here's a little backstory about this cruise...
We spent 18 months planning our dream vacation...the Westbound Tranatlantic this past Sept with 4 days in Barcelona beforehand and 4 days in WDW after. It was gonna be a 23 day vacation extravanganza and our first trip to Europe!! The day we got on the plane to leave, I started feeling bad and by the time we got to Barcelona, I had to go to the hospital at 3am and again the day before boarding DCL. Since I had been on antibotics for 4 days already I wasn't supposed to be contagious so I hope that was true! What started as an upper respiratory infection turned into whooping cough and I was really ill the entire 23 days!! I've never been that sick in my life!!
I came back exhausted and depressed and it took a full 2 months for me to get back to feeling normal!

Anyhow, I really want to make up for it on this cruise so I'm looking forward to it more than you know!!!

Chasity (& Gus)

Yay, welcome! So sorry to hear about your prior cruise experience!!!!!! Hopefully this one will be better!

I also live about 40 miles from Disneyland, yay! :yay:

Have you picked your excursions yet? We are still trying to decide. :confused3

I was just looking at those a few hours ago! I think we might do the 4x4 jeep thingy in Cabo and maybe some snorkeling & beach time on our own in one of the other ports but that's about it. After the WBTA, we really don't have a lot to spend on extras this time. However, we will probably get a spa day pass and do a brunch and dinner at Palo. Gotta have my chocolate souffle!!

Would love to hear what everyone else has planned!

The 4x4 sounds fun but I'm not sure I'm brave enough! :scared1:

I want to do snorkleing but I've heard the water can be murky and COLD! :scared1::scared1:

For Mazatlan we are doing Randi's Happy Horses but that's all we've decided on so far. We don't have a lot of extra funds so we are looking for the most bang for our buck.

I bet you can handle the 4x4!! Maybe if you read some reviews first!
Good point about the snorkeling...didn't even think of that. I guess we'll just have play it by ear on that one.

Yeah, I might just hold off on the DCL excursion part and see what I can find on my own. If I find anything good, I'll pass it along!

92 days!!!

Hi all! Holidays were crazy as I am sure they were for all. We have done the pirate cruise before, that was a lot of fun, especially for the kids. For most ports we boos a day pass for a hotel (mostly star wood properties) and that has always worked very well. Kids get the beach, the pool, and we get some relaxation and a nice shower!

Does someone have a full list of those on this cruise to email me? What I can do is create the FE list with all Disers listed but can then highlight and assign days to those that are gifting. Sorry I can't be more often on the boards - with the 5 kids, dual jobs and normal life it has been too busy. Buti will commit to get the list out, probably 2 weeks prior, unless we can get it wrapped up early. If anyone has the list please pm me and I can provide my email. Thanks! Lisa. (DH Quentin, DS Owen (13) Jack (10) Aidan (8) Luke (5) Abagail (1).

Anyone else book anything last night? We ended up doing a high tea, brunch & dinner since they were all available. First time that's happened so had to take advantage! It will be our first time trying out the high tea.

No excursions booked yet but I'm sure we'll end up booking something soon!

89 days!!!
