04/10/2011 Mexican Riviera Cruise

Hi Calmom, and all the others!

My name is Rita, and I am casilands friend, and we are already signed up for the fish extenders. I am traveling with casiland, my 13 year old daughter, and my 21 year old son.

I am planning on letting casiland take care of the fish extenders for the kids, while I get something for the adults. I was wondering if calmom had a break down of the 26 adults, how many men and how many women? I may want to make something for the adults, not quite sure yet as I work during the week, and moonlight as a RN on weekends, so a little short on time sometimes. But in case I decide to make something I would want to know the male/female breakdown if you have it.

I can't wait for this cruise. It is our 3rd Disney cruise, and our 2nd time on the Wonder. Since our last time on the Wonder, we have done Royal Caribbean in the Caribbean, NCL in Hawaii, Celebrity to Alaska, Carnival to Mexico, but we are super excited to be back on Disney. We think Disney is the best. I am bringing a ton of books, and can't wait to be disconnected from the computer, cell phone, and the rest of the world, and just rest for a week. I may not even get off the ship at all. That is why it's great to travel with Casiland as she goes on excursions with my kids. They are doing the zip line tour and some others.

I look forward to seeing you on the ship, and hope we have a Dis meet while we are there. I'll be the one reading books and doing nothing.

Rita

OK, I've had alot of people ask me how I did theese. So please bear with me as I try to explain. Remember, I am no expert, just a parent trying to make a special gift for my kids.
First I requested a welcome letter from a disigner, link below, printed it on photo paper and used it as page two.
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2622431
Then I found another disigner and went thru his shared photos in his disney cruise folder and found logos and journal pages. link below
http://www.4shared.com/dir/19077581/4fa6c900/sharing.html
Then I just searched thru different disigner photo bucket and shared pages for autograph cards and downloaded them. Then I googled "Disney cruise name badge" and got one that I pasted on my front cover. link below
http://media.photobucket.com/image/disney cruise name tag/Telynn_Rose/Little%20Badges/01cruise.jpg
Then I dowloaded a walt disney font to put into my windows alphabet. link below
http://www.pickafont.com/fonts/W/Walt Disney Script V4 1.html
Then with The Print Shop Program, copy pasted, cropped inserted, made bigger, whatever my imagination thouht would look good, created the pages. Laid it out to how I thought it would look good. Printed double sided on heavy card stock. Printed the front cover, back cover and welcome letters on photo paper. Took it to a print shop, had them laminate the covers and spiral bind it. Now this might seem like alot, but if you take your time and let your imagination run, it will come out great. Everybody that I showed my book to loves it. I made four pages for autographs, eight pages for sea days, pages for the restaraunts, cabin, ports, friends, and crew members. Really look into that link that has the journal pages. They really get all the credit. Hope this helped. Cant wait to give them to my kids.

Do you have your cabin?

The FE List so far:
Hoppin62 & Yolie1021: 2 adults, 3 children ** do you have one or two cabins?
Cowgirl: 4 adults, 2 children ** need cabins, assume 2?
Actnkidz: 2 Adults, 2 children ** need cabin
Casiland: 3 Adults, 1 child
Minyjoy: 2 Adults
Dizneyholic: 2 Adults
DisFanInCo: 2 Adults
Mafpi: 3 Adults, 3 children
Hipchickjewels: 2 Adults, 2 children ** need cabin
Loving RN: 2 Adults, 1 child ** need cabin
Calmom: 2 Adults, 5 children (may be one more adult)

TOTAL: 26 adults, 19 children OR 13 cabins

If I overlooked you or got your stats wrong, I apologize. Please just PM me to correct.

Cut-off will be Friday, Feb. 25 to put your name in to participate. Some folks will be ordering personalized items so we have to have a cut-off as it can take several weeks to order anything personalized. For those that haven't done this before, please do not feel pressure to spend $$. Some of the more thoughtful gifts I have seen our less than .50 cents per gift, so that would be a total around $20 for our count. You can also just get one gift per cabin, for the whole family/group. We have enough participating that we should have almost 2 gifts every day, one in the AM and one in the PM. If you have a preferance, please let me know and I will do my best. This is all for fun, no pressure and really no rules. So if you want to just surprise and not let me know when, that is fine. The purpose with assigning days is just to see that we have each day covered.

Has anyone started their cruise pile yet??? I went to the Ralph Lauren outlet and got swim suits for all the boys. Matching of course - that way I can spot them in the Goofy pool! I also got them all sweatshirts. I have a feeling it might be a little cold. So excited for our trip!

Thanks Calmom for taking the lead on all this! We are in cabin #6074 and have a 4.5 year old daughter. We are pretty flexible, just let me know when you want us to do our gift (although it may be better for me to do it earlier in the cruise, rather than last day).
We do seem to have some rather creative cruisers out there... love the memory books and all the creative FE's I've seen, unfortunately I am not that creative!!! I will probably be buying my FE.
MindyJoy enjoy the engagement party!

Hi,
I am just getting caught up on the DIS boards. I gave you my name (Tina, Darrell, Miranda (10) and Gillian (6), but now I need to give you my cabin number.
It is: 10c-2145

I want to make sure I understand the FE. I will deliver little presents to the other participants. You will give me the room numbers. How many are participating? Is it possible to only do it one day and not all seven days? Is that acceptable? Is there a certain time of the day we need to deliver? How long does it usually take, any ideas?

Thanks so much for your help! Thanks for organize this!!

Tina

Tina,
You will only need to give your gifts to the participants one time (1 day). It does not take that long to pass out your gifts, maybe around :30 minutes or so.

I have one more family to add to the FE.

For two kids: Nolan (13) and Danielle (11)
Their parents are not going to participate.

They are in cabin number: 11-b-5635

Thanks!

I noticed that our itinerary has day 5 & 6 at Cabo.... does anyone know if we will stay docked there overnight or go out to sea and return the next morning?
