04/10/2011 Mexican Riviera Cruise

Anyone else want to join the FE fun??? Those that are signed up, is there any particular day you would like??

Hi CalMom - I finally read about FE's (so I know what it is!) and me and my little family would love to be in on this fun!

Count us in for the FE. We are a party of six. ME, DW, DD-10 DD-7 DS-5 and grandma. The kids first cruise, and I want to make it as memorable as possible.

Anyone sailing with a toddler? This is our 4th cruise but first with 2.5 year old. Excited and a bit nervous.

Hi everybody. Still trying to figure out how to make this the greatest vacation ever. What can you tell me about pin trading, pillow cases, other things to have signed or any other things like theese I can plan out. Thanks for your input.

Not sure if anyone else in GTY status has checked yet but we were assigned our room today!! We are in #6637. Sorta bummed that we didn't get an upgrade and not to thrilled with our location but at least we're on the ship!!!! Yay!!!

Can't wait to hear what everyone else got!! And if we have any Dis neighbors???

TWO MONTHS UNTIL WE CRUISE, YEEEAHHHHHH!

I am 6096, not exactly neighbors but close!!!

I see we have some new people joining the thread, how about a brief introduction??? :thumbsup2

Hello all. Looking forward to our 3rd Disney Cruise and first time on the Wonder. It'll be me, DH, DD7, and DS7.

We did an Eastern in 2007 and a Western in 2009. Seems that we are cursed to have a changed itinerary every time. We missed Castaway Cay due to a Tropical Storm in 2007, and then missed Cozumel due to H1N1 in 2009. This time we will miss Mazatlan. Oh well - it's being on the ship that matters!

TWO MONTHS UNTIL WE CRUISE, YEEEAHHHHHH!

Woohoo!! :cheer2: Can't wait to be onboard! Picked up some cute fabric for my FE the other day and found a few kid things for the FE exchange today, so things are moving along!

To all the new folks - WELCOME!! :yay:

I am more of a pin collector rather than a pin trader, but I do know that in addition to the limited edition pins they have available to buy, there is also an evening session where you can trade pins with the ship officers.

We haven't done the pillowcase, but instead did a photo mat, which turned out really great. Just take the item you want signed to Guest Services and tell them you want to leave it to be signed. They'll have you fill out a form that asks what characters you want (Fab 5, Princesses, everyone). They'll get it back to you on the last night of the cruise. We put the photo mat, a bunch of Sharpies and a bag of candy (as "payment") in a ziploc with our cabin number on it and everything was returned to us (minus the candy of course!) If you're going to do pillowcases, I'd suggest fabric markers instead of Sharpies so the color doesn't fade when you wash them. Either way, it's a great keepsake of the trip.

That's really all I specifically planned for the kids last time, but there were also random things that happened that were special too, like running into Pluto on deck 4 with no other kids around and playing fetch with him. My DS remembers those little, unplanned things more than anything else, but of course, those encounters are totally random and may or may not happen!

This is our first Disney cruise, but my husband and I began taking our daughter on cruises when she was about 2, and we are sold on cruising as a great way to vacation and travel with a little one - with a great combo of family time and adult time available! Our daughter is almost 5 now, and she absolutely loves going on cruises, but we have some mixed experiences with her and the kids camps... on some cruises she liked the camps and on our last cruise - 10 day cruise, she didn't like the camp (picture it:10 days, a 3 year old that doesn't want to go to kids camp for an hour even when there is an ice cream party! Mommy and Daddy needed a vacation from the vacation!!!) in my daughter's defense, I didn't think the counselors were all that engaging in that particular camp... so this is how I convinced my hubbie to give DCL a try. Everyone raves about how much fun the kids have on Disney. Although you may be a bit nervous, I am sure you and your little one will have the best time, and you will see that cruising is one of the best vacation bets there are for travelling with kids

Hi! I'd be happy to organize the FE list. I did it for the 08 Panama Canal cruise with I think 100 people involved so this will be a piece of cake!!

I need everyone to give me a list of their name and the ages, names of their party along with the cabin number. Best to send me a private message so I make sure I get it. I will then create a master list to give to everyone that wants to participate. You need to get a small gift (anything from .25 cents to whatever) for each cabin. Normally, kids like to get their own so if there are 3 kids in one cabin, you might want to plan on 4 gifts (1 for the adult(s) and 1 for each kid). Sometimes there can be family gifts like a CD. Once I get the names of all that want to participate, I can assign days so the kids can look forward to a gift each day.

About us: Lisa, Quentin - sailed 3 times with Disney (Mexican, Caribbean, and Panana Canal). We've sailed on other lines (Princess, Celebrity, NCL, RCCL). We have 5 kids - ages at sail time: Owen (13), Jack (10), Aidan (8), Luke (5), and Abby (1). We live in Northern California and plan on driving down. We may or may not be traveling with others, still working on that.

It is springbreak for our kids. Yeah!
Lisa
I would like my family to participate in the fish extenders.
Two adults and two girls ages Miranda age 10 and Gillian age 6.
I'm new at this so just let me know what I need to do.
Thanks for organizing this!

Do you have your cabin?

The FE List so far:
Hoppin62 & Yolie1021: 2 adults, 3 children ** do you have one or two cabins?
Cowgirl: 4 adults, 2 children ** need cabins, assume 2?
Actnkidz: 2 Adults, 2 children ** need cabin
Casiland: 3 Adults, 1 child
Minyjoy: 2 Adults
Dizneyholic: 2 Adults
DisFanInCo: 2 Adults
Mafpi: 3 Adults, 3 children
Hipchickjewels: 2 Adults, 2 children ** need cabin
Loving RN: 2 Adults, 1 child ** need cabin
Calmom: 2 Adults, 5 children (may be one more adult)

TOTAL: 26 adults, 19 children OR 13 cabins

If I overlooked you or got your stats wrong, I apologize. Please just PM me to correct.

Cut-off will be Friday, Feb. 25 to put your name in to participate. Some folks will be ordering personalized items so we have to have a cut-off as it can take several weeks to order anything personalized. For those that haven't done this before, please do not feel pressure to spend $$. Some of the more thoughtful gifts I have seen our less than .50 cents per gift, so that would be a total around $20 for our count. You can also just get one gift per cabin, for the whole family/group. We have enough participating that we should have almost 2 gifts every day, one in the AM and one in the PM. If you have a preferance, please let me know and I will do my best. This is all for fun, no pressure and really no rules. So if you want to just surprise and not let me know when, that is fine. The purpose with assigning days is just to see that we have each day covered.

Has anyone started their cruise pile yet??? I went to the Ralph Lauren outlet and got swim suits for all the boys. Matching of course - that way I can spot them in the Goofy pool! I also got them all sweatshirts. I have a feeling it might be a little cold. So excited for our trip!

Thanks again for coordinating, Calmom! We have no preference on AM or PM. And, just to double check - the total of 24 adults and 14 kids is not including your family, correct? I am counting 26 adults and 19 kids total, but just want to make sure I'm not counting wrong (it's been a long week! :))

We're just starting to get things together. Both my hubby and I lost a bunch of weight last year, so we have a whole bunch of new stuff we have to pick up (swimsuits, formal night wear, shorts). I found a great formal dress this past weekend but that's as far as I've gotten. Hoping to find some good early season deals in the next couple weeks!

WOOOOHOOOOO, congrats to you and DH! :goodvibes

I set a goal to lose 10 pounds before the cruise and so far I'm down 7. :cool1:

I'm already starting to put my gifts together and I only bought enough for 14 cabins, WHOOPS. :scared1: So I'm torn, I hope more people show up and join in the fun but then I have to go out and buy more stuff, lol

I haven't been focusing on cruise stuff because our engagement party is next weekend and DF's parents are staying with us for 4 days. :scared1: The weekend after that I need to start working on making my FE!!!!! :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Yikes - I did forget us! Thanks, corrected it. Congrats on losing weight. Wish I could say the same - I seem to keep gaining it lately. We have an oscar party to go to so I was going to try to get a formal dress for that and then use it for the crusie.

Yay for your engagement party! Have fun and congratulations to you both!

Oh, an Oscar party - how FUN! :cool1: That's a perfect excuse to get a nice dress! I don't know if I'll ever wear mine for any other event, but it was cheap enough that I didn't feel too bad about buying it :)

Thanks for the weight-loss well wishes. It's definitely not an easy thing to do, but we joined a weight loss challenge that people at my work do, so it was a great incentive - lose the weight or pay $1000 each!

Mindyjoy - Congrats on the 7 lbs so far, that's a great accomplishment!

Looks like our boat will be full of skinny people. Me and my wife wanted to lose 15 lbs a piece for the cruise. We take Herbalife and lost 10 lbs in a month. 5 to go.
