04/10/2011 Mexican Riviera Cruise

Does anyone know if you can buy postcards and stamps on board? Can you mail postcards from the ship?? :confused3

Postcards - yes. Stamps - I can't answer for the Wonder, but when we cruised the Magic last year, I had to wait until we got to Castaway Cay to get a stamp from the post office there, and that's also where I mailed them. For some reason I vaguely recall seeing a "mail" slot by Guest Services, but that could have been in a dream I had :)

Oh and yes, I am SOOO busy this week. Trying to get stuff wrapped up at work so I can totally ignore it for a week plus packing and making sure I'm not forgetting anything :confused3

We leave on Saturday for a quick day trip to Disneyland and then will ride the Disney shuttle to the port on Sunday. I'm HOPING we make it in time for the meet at 3pm, but if not, we'll see some of you at the Tequila tasting on Monday :cheer2:

Ditto! Trying to get the laundry finished and the packing started. Got my FE in the mail Monday :cool1: finished up the FE gifts yesterday  (with the exception of the help I will be getting from daughter putting some goodies in ;))

Lucky you! We were going to try to squeeze a quick trip to Disneyland before the cruise and time has just gotten away from us :confused3

We'll see if it's worth it - it's supposed to be CRAZY busy on Saturday, but I'm hoping the weather will hold off the crowds. But, even with crowds, it's fun to just be there people watching and we have ressies for Blue Bayou, which I'm sad to say I've never been to before. Figured we need to try it at least once just to say we've been there ;)

Way to go:cool1: Blue Bayou is one of my favorites, the food is good (luv the Jumbalaya! Got some kick to it though!) The portions are huge... last time, my friend and I split the plate, and still couldn't finish it all :lmao:

Have a great time! And I hope the weather cooperates with you. :upsidedow

Thanks for the info on the stamps! I was hoping to avoid the confusion of buying stamps in Mexico. :faint:

You are going to love Blue Bayou! DF and I go for my bday every year and we always split the Monte Cristo sandwich ... droooooool. They only serve it during lunch hours. It's sooo good!!!

When we were there on Sunday taking our engagement photos, it got really packed! We got there right when the park opened and it was really nice for a few hours. After noon it started to get a bit unbearable! Good luck! :cool1:

Yep, that's exactly why I got lunch reservations! :cool1: I've had the Monte Cristo at Cafe Orleans and loved it, but figure it'll be even better sitting next to the pirate "river" :)

Our flight lands at 9am, so I fully expect to hit the park right along with the rest of the crowds. Oh well, we'll just go with the flow and have fun anyway! :wizard:

Hi everyone! This will be my families first cruise and we are so excited! We are big-time Disney fans and can't wait for all the fun. I would be interested in joining your FE group if it's not too late! I just found out about it and it sounds like so much fun. My family is myself, DH, DS (8) & DD (turning 6 on the cruise!). We're in room 6010. Let me know! Thanks!!:woohoo:

I am sorry to say that the F/E has been finalized, but there are a couple of suggestions a few pages back. :)

:thumbsup2 ... anywhere or only in the white? :confused3

We have been so busy this week , trying to make sure clothes fit and laundry is done. Also I am trying to finish up our FE gifts every time I think I'm done I come up with a new idea. Also now we are trying to pick a date to book our next cruise on while on board, did everyone see the new ports and dates released today?

I did get all of my magnets printed today, they all look great. The sombrero looks so cool!

Mindy, we are supposed to board at 12:30 as well, so hopefully we will all be able to make it to the meet at 3.

Does anyone know how the weather has been on the at sea days? Hopefully its not too cool.

We can't wait to unplug and relax all week. So excited Clayton is the CD. On our last cruise on the Magic he was the CD and he was so awesome to my son. My son had asked him to trade pins, but he didn't have any on him at the time so he said to remind him later that night and he would trade with him. So later that night my son saw him and asked to trade, well Clayton didn't have any pins again so he told my son to wait and he ran off to his cabin and came back with a really cool pin that he gave him. He was very generous and went out of his way to make my son happy. Great guy!

Thanks for letting me know. I'm bummed to have missed it...we booked our cruise last May and I just found this website a couple of days ago! Oh well, next time! Everyone please try to come by and leave a note on our door (room 6010, we'll have a whiteboard) because my kids will love that as much as gifts. I like the idea of me leaving gifts "from Mickey" so I will definitely be doing that. Thanks everyone for all the great information on here...really helps out a newbie like me :)

We booked the nursery for a couple hours (10:30-12:30 or 1:00 which is before lunch and nap time) on sea days hoping to catch some sun / relax time at the pool, and 9-10:30 every night. DS I know will not sit through 2+ hr dinners so after 45 mins off to nursery. The servers will bring the kids food out quickly for dine and play. We are going to wing it, since I am a SAHM he's with me all day, we hope he'll like the nursery. All our excursions are beach and or pool ones... Good for toddlers. If you and DH want to see a movie you might want to book the nursery for that too...

Sorry for the late reply - I thought I had subscribed to replies but I guess not!

Those are great suggestions... I have DS booked from 1-5pm every other day. He's a good sleeper but he also loves to play, so I figure he'll play for an hour or so once he gets there, and then he'll konk out hopefully. I haven't read much about the sleeping areas for the nursery but I assume they're clean and well organized. I hope DS will actually sleep there!

Thanks for the tip about movie time... I think we're going to have to play it by ear from here on out. Only a few days away!!!!

So close now! Just one more day of work and praying to the cruise gods that I don't have to work tomorrow. :cool1: I started packing last night but I have so much more to go!!!!
