03/29/08, March 29, 2008 Eastern Magic - Who else?

just wanted to let you know you want be alone....our "costumes" will most likely consist of the bandanas they give out at dinner, and us saying "Arrrrrr" pirate:

LOL! Exxxxcellent. that makes me feel better!

In case anyone is interested, I e-mailed about the engine issues, and this is what I got in response. I'm not too worried about it, just wanted everyone to be able to read the reply.

Dear "Angelhalo",

Thank you for choosing a Disney Cruise Line Vacation to celebrate your Honeymoon! This challenge you referenced in your email about the engines has since been resolved and we do not anticipate any further issues. We understand your excitement about spending the day at Castaway Cay andplease be aware that ship did arrive at our private island in a timely manner; however, it was unable to call at Castaway Cay due to the wind and sea conditions. The safety of our Guests and crew is always our first priority, and we continually monitor weather and sea conditions very closely. Occasionally, we encounter inclement weather or other factors beyond ourcontrol, which prevent us from safely docking at a port-of-call. Should these types of conditions occur, our Captain can alter the ship's courseor itinerary for the safety and well being of our Guests. While these types of itinerary changes are rare, they are unfortunately unavoidable. We hope the above information proves helpful. If you need further assistance with your vacation, please feel free to contact us. We look forward to sailing with you!

Have a Magical Day!

Angelhalo,

Thanks for sharing this with us!

Having been on DCL several times we've been fortunate to have only missed Castaway Cay once, so let's keep our fingers crossed for good weather and smooth sailing. Even though we missed CC we still had one of the best vacations ever!

Cheers!

John

Whew! Tomorrow's the NRT test and we're DONE!!!! :woohoo: MY kids want to parade to the dumpster and toss their FCAT books tomorrow. I think we'll do that!

Don't know about you all, but I'm really needing this cruise I wish it were here so I didn't have to do all the stuff I have to do before the cruise (not cruise related). It seems EVERYTHING has to be done by the end of the month. :scared1:

Went to jump start my tan today so I won't burn to badly. :3dglasses

Regarding Pirate attire: On all our previous cruises, we've never dressed for Pirate night - this is the first time and we're really excited. pirate:

Steve, don't forget! You're the headliner comedian the week of our cruise! :rotfl2:

Can anyone explain why this smilie is on the dis? :laundy: Dinghydeb

copy and add on :upsidedow

I can relate to the FCAT. I teach fourth and we still have two more days of testing. I like the idea of a parade to the dumpster.

By the way, this is my first post and yes I am Stevenpensacola's wife. We are looking forward to the cruise. (without the kids) I can't wait to start packing and getting everything ready. You should see all my list!:yay:

The laundry smile is for talking about all the laundry you have to do when you get home.:goodvibes

No proctoring FCAt for me today since it is the Science one here and I teach science so I cannot proctor that one. NRT is next week.

My kids do not want to go to the dumpster they want to protest the number of forests destroyed to make the FCAT.

Well off to be productive and stare at he few kids who are not FCATing today.

I am wondering if anyone has heard from Disney regarding the 3/1/9 Eastern cruise that didn't make the ports and had engine trouble. I've been reading some posts over at Tripadvisor "Engine Troubles with Disney Cruises" and I am thinking of writing a letter. I see that this topic was covered on another thread here at disboards but the topics are closed to new posts ???

This cruise was a big disappointment for many people because there were HUGE lines of people filing out complaint forms at guest services last Friday before they left the ship. Has anything ever come of that?

Go a few posts back and you will see that AngelHalo posted her response from Disney.

I have missed several ports on cruises and you get out of it what you put in. If you want to be miserable and complain you will....if you want to have a good time you will. At least that is the way my family has always looked at it.

My kids are having a Florida "snowball" fight out of the pages from their FCAT practice books. Woo Hoo!!!!

No Fcats for kids in private school...the SAT they take is much less a big deal.

You are right about the private school. I teach just so I can pay for my own kids to go to a private school:teacher:

OK No more talk about FCAT. We will be leaving two weeks from tomorrow!!!:woohoo: I think it is time to start packing.:goofy:

Start packing? That wont happen until Thursday the 27th here, and we leave to drive to the port on the 28th. Of course, we already have the basic necessessities like collapsible hamper, over the door shoe rack, fish extender etc all stored together neatly, but.....no chance it will happen early.

Chuck:cool1:

packing...? what's to pack other then sunglasses, suntan lotion and a swimsuit?

:beach:

So in our house it is officially like 2 weeks. We did the traditional precruise haircut at Disney today...wanted to beat the expected crowds this weekend.

My daughter proudly said to the lady "make me pretty for Mickey Boat"

Chuck you are just a seasoned pro....and this should be great for you considering just got off the boat a few months ago.

:woohoo: it's the weekend :woohoo: I'm gonna see what fits :headache: and then go shopping for what doesn't  Since we have my son & wife coming in the 26th, we have to be all packed by then so we can spend as much time with them as possible before we cruise. We'll be with them at the parks Thurs & Friday. They're staying at AKL, but we'll be commuting since the vet bill took a chunk out of our budget  I am just too excited. I really need to complete my FE and my magnets. Michelle, what posters were people asking you for?
