03/29/08, March 29, 2008 Eastern Magic - Who else?

I think I found costumes for Mike & I for Pirate night. Every time we wish we had dressed so this time we're doing it. We figure it's worth the investment as much as a tux or gown is for DCL. I believe I've posted the picture of them. It's tough to find plus sizes that look good.

What is everyone else doing for Pirate Night? DD pirate:

How on earth did you get more than one reservation at Palos? The online res will only allow us to do one and we chose formal night (Sunday). The lobster at Palos is so much better than that of the other restaurants.

Debby

You can book 1 tea, 1 brunch, and 1 dinner. We do not have dinner booked on both nights. We have Thursday for the same reason you have it...the great Palo Lobster on semi-formal night. But with my parents being on their first cruise we think Wednesday may be a better day since they were not fond of that menu and my parents will enjoy the dinner and getting to order lots of lobster plus the molten lava.

You can go and attempt to book a second dinner or brunch when you are on board. It will depend on the demand.

I like the look of that pirate outfit. Much fancier then mine. I always say I am gone to make a fancier one, but have never had the time.

Wait are you sure they have Lobster on Sunday in Palo?

Michelle, I got your logo...still trying to decide ho to do the shirt. As for Pirate night I was thinking on having us all match....I had just planned on having us all in mickey shirts with our names on them, but after reading more and seeing others costumes....I may need to reconsider;) DOes anyone have any pictures from pirate night?

Okay I was just worried you had not gotten them.

I am attaching a picture of my daughter and I. Not the best one, but you can see the outfits. There is an entire thread on what people's pirate costumes look like on the main board. Try a search for it.

I can never find anything, will someone let me know if they find the costume thread?

Thanks in advance:)

Hi Everyone!! You are correct, Michelle-we are in Lake Tahoe. Chuck and Mason have been skiing. They are having an amazing time!! I am taking a lesson tomorrow. So far it has been too cold and snowy for me to attempt the slopes. I am soooo looking forward to our spring break cruise.

We booked Palo's brunch for the 2nd sea day and dinner for the night of the master chef menu in the main dining room. I'm not sure of the exact days of the week right now.

Hmmm, maybe brunch & tea were booked already. Just to check, they still serve lobster on formal night, right? I've been ordering our costumes & accessories and I can't wait. I'm really excited about pirate night now. Debbypirate:

DF says that the guy on the phone with the res center said no, but that the computer let him do it with no problems. He says we are doing Palo on the first couple of days at sea, once for dinner and once for brunch.

I need to order our costumes too. I've been looking for weeks but just keep putting it off for money reasons but I need to just go ahead and do it because we definiteloy want to dress up!

I checked into this and made sure I was right. So here is the info you were looking for:

Lobster is on the Captain's Gala Menu. That is on Thursday night on the Eatern Cruise. On that night they will also serve a special Lobster in Palo. The rest of the week there is no Lobster in Palo.

Hope that helps.

And if you were seeing that you could not click on the tab for brunch or tea it was that it was full. But they only open so much to book in advance. There are always openings if you get to Rockin' Bar D in the right time.

Chuck, Lisa, and Mason it is cozy warm here in Florida so you can thaw out from the skiing trip. Hope you had a great time. Now that I know you are out of town I shall hold off. Mickey Mouse had something to send to Mason, but I will make sure he waits until Monday.

Hey all. For our day at St. Thomas, it looks like there will be a few ships (5 or 6) in port that day. Do we resign ourselves to the fact that the Magic will anchor/tender on that day? (Wed April 2).

Last time we were there, we tendered. Looking at the cruiseship schedule for January at vinow.com it looks like the Magic will tender the 2 days it is there. Does Disney have less priority over other cruise lines?

Also, if all-aboard for that day says 4:30 and we are tendering, is that the approximate time that the last tender leaves the dock? Or does the ship sail at 4:30 and we need to be at that dock much much earlier.
Just wondering so that we can plan our itinerary/excursion for that day....

I spent my entire college career in a ski town and only went skiing twice. Just enough for me to decide that it wasn't for me! LOL! Hope you guys had fun!

Love the pooh size women thread title!!

Did you find a schedule that shows several ships in that day or are you just going by the January schedule??? You never know some ships may do a different itinerary in April then they are in Jan. I will get my navigators from last year and try to answer the time we leave question. Remember last year we were scheduled to dock and just before dinner time they told us there was a change and upgraded the Navigator info and had it for us before bed time. I do think the ship still left at 4:30.....and I personally hated the tendering process in St. Thomas. I did not find it as pleasant or smooth as in the Grand Cayman, but that is not Disney's fault.

Hello folks. I have a rough copy of a fish extender list. If you have not decided yet or are not sure about this "game" it is fun. It is fun for the kids and adults to come back to their cabin and find presents. My daughter had a great time making deliveries.

Anyway, please give me feedback. I am trying to make it easy to read for when you are out delivering. I also wanted to appeal to the visual folks....you will see the boys are blue and girls are purple.

I will eventually put the file in for people to print out and I can make color copies at work. But I cannot figure out how to attach a .pdf or other file that you can download and print. So far now it is a .png image

Let me know if you want us to add you or any feedback you may have.

My mom called from Target yesterday and was enjoying FE gift shopping.

Well we are off to the Studios to see the all new Playouse Disney

FishExtenderListcopy.png

I am editing this because the FE list posted twice.

Also, let me add that we have done the Eastern several times and last year was the first time it tendered. When we went OCt. 2007 it docked in St. Thomas. It also docked when my friends cruised in December.

HI everybody!

1. Thanks crzcrazy for the Palo's info AND for the wonderful FE list. I've seen several FE gifts myself. I'm trying to change reservations to Thursday as we speak.

2. I certainly hope we don't tender. I sometimes have to use a scooter and I can't if we tender.

3. Regarding FEs, does everyone get a gift daily? Excited to give them being from Orlando!!

4. We won't be able to meet at the sail away - we have a tradition of standing port side forward past the part and into the Atlantic (we always see a dolphin or two). Then we go to our room and have champagne & cheese & crackers on our veranda. We do, however, want to meet everyone. Is there another get together or can we plan one?

5. I made a neat door magnet design for Pirate Night but don't know how to post it. Any ideas how?

Debby

can someone remind me exactly when and where the sailaway meet is?

According to cruisecal.com there are 5 cruise ships in port the day we dock at St. Thomas. No info on tendering though. Last year for our spring break cruise, tendering was a drag at St. Thomas. Took forever to board, then the tender kept on missing the dock....
