~ºoº November 27, 2010- Western Magic! ºoº~

It was a bad day at the Popovich house. DD Nicole was playing fetch with the dog and cracked the screen on our large screen plasma TV. I wonder if that is covered by homeowner's insurance or if it would be worth it?? DH is wondering if they still sell plasma TVs :confused3.

I guess I have some research to do :surfweb:.

On the bright side, I went to work out this morning before work. Was going to go for a walk after dinner, but got distracted by the TV fiasco :rolleyes1.

All for now,
Gailyn

Ahh - that stinks - good luck with that!

Oy - not a good day at all! I would assume it would be covered under your homeowner's, but what is your deductible? is it worth it? Will the insurance go up if you place a claim? They do still sell plasma TVs, but they have come a long way if yours is an older one.

Good luck!

OH NO! They definitely still do sell plasmas. As far as insurance goes, it really depends on what you have for a deductible. Several yrs ago our 55" HD LCD TV bombed out after our house got hit by lightening. For us it was worth it to file a claim with our homeowners insurance. Let us know how it goes!

Chilly here in CT this morning, but I LOVE IT! Fall is my fav time of yr and it really is feeling like fall!

Have a good day all!

Oh Man. that stinks Gailyn. So sorry to hear it. They do sell plasmas. I was researching this about six months ago because I was thinking of replacing our older Sony Plasma. However, the plasmas are few and far between and Sony doesn't make them anymore. I can't remember which manufacturers still did- I'm remembering Panasonic and maybe Samsung. Good luck!

Happy Tuesday to all.

@ Gailyn: That stinks about the TV. Hopefully your homeowners insurance will cover it and the deductible will be low.

I think I've seen people mention the get-together on Embarkation day. Do we have a time yet? We've attended others that were at 2:30 pm. (Jeff and Gailyn help me out if I'm wrong). I guess we can decide as we get closer to time.

I hope everyone's diets are going well. I was happy to get back into some things that I had missed wearing. Hail the power of diets. :worship:

Things are great in Missouri other than our condor size mosquitoes that eat you alive when you try to exercise outside. I mean having to exercise sucks but then having to spray yourself down with DEET before hand makes it even less appealing. I look like a pin cushion with bites all over. But such is life living in Missouri.

64 days until we leave and it can't get here soon enough. Made my last ressie for Cozumel (were doing the Cozumel Bar Hop) so I'm ready to go. Now to go shopping for new clothes.

I hope everyone has a great day and a better tomorrow and that Gailyn doesn't kill her DD.

Morning everyone! Soggy, humid and not-so-fallish here in Texas!

Gailyn - Sorry to hear about the TV - let us know how you get on with that - hopefully the ins will cover it and you can find a suitable replacement. :happytv:

Since the board "lit up" with all the working out and dieting last week I've been going to the gym - it's amazing what peer pressure can do :rotfl2:

thanks to everyone for the warm welcome! Have mouse fever, keep driving poor Matt crazy by asking him first thing every morning if it's time to go see the mouse yet...Anyone going to WDW after the cruise?

We are! Our sons and their families will be joining us at Saratoga Springs for a week following the cruise. This is their Christmas presents this year! I'm excited that we will also be meeting up with several friends while we are there as well! :woohoo:

Holy Exploding FE List Batman! Here is the update, there is one more room to add, just waiting on the details of the # of people.7

Yikes! I have 24 cabin items (I'm way good on the kids) so I guess I have more work to do...but need more supplies!

So sorry about the TV! Hope DD is still in one piece and joining us on the cruise! ;)

UGH! No, let us not talk about diets...the last two weeks have been totally a bust for me! Back on the 'diet and workout train' as of yesterday. Don't want to get on the scale and see what the past two weeks did to me :rolleyes1

We have fall today, but summer returns with a vengeance tomorrow and for the next few days, so they say. Fall needs to get here so I can start packing for the cruise!!! :lmao:

can we go, can we go??? :yay::yay:

Just got DS his 1st passport! Woohoo! Can't believe it only took 1 week. Is this really our government we're talking about here? I can't imagine some of you waiting nearly 2 years for this cruise. We just booked a week ago, and I'm already edgy.

BTW - not sure if anyone read that thread re: the bed bugs. I read it right before going to bed last night and had all kind of itchy nightmares. Yuck Yuck. :scared1: Plus, I woke up with a mosquito bite, so I had to throw off all my covers and look under the mattress. So far, so good. Still very freaky.

I'm really trying to figure out this whole FE thing. Am not very crafty and can't sew to save my life. I think I'll have to resort to the stockings too. :rotfl: Just curious - are we supposed to give a gift to every person or per family? Also, is everyone who's posted on this thread participating? Pretty cool to think that I might get some gifties on a cruise! :thumbsup2

While I'm just typing away ... my DS (Baron) turns 3 on Saturday. Am throwing him a little party at the St. Louis Zoo. He can't stop talking about it and keeps asking who's coming ... and who else? Nobody told me having a kid would be this fun. :yay:

Ok, have a good night, everyone.

Annabel

Thank you all for the TV condolences - I have not called the insurance agent yet. I think I'm in denial. Plus, I don't know if household accidents like stupidity are covered??:rotfl:

I priced large Pioneer Plasmas and got depressed. I think I will suck it up and call the insurance agent tomorrow.

Tonya and Tink thank you for inquiring about DD's health. She is alive and well and is on her best behavior. I wonder how long that will last??? :confused3

Jenny - Congrats on going to the gym today. :thumbsup2

I went to work out again this morning before work and plan to do the same tomorrow. The downside is that I keep going to bed earlier!;)

I hope Baron has a great birthday party at the zoo!!!! I'm sure you'll get great pictures!

Tonya - my sister in law lives in Poplar Bluff, MO and she was also talking about the mutant mosquitos! Scary!:scared1:

All for now,
Gailyn

Morning all,

Having a rough morning here....kids are "crazy", dog is "crazy" and it's not even 10 am here! I think it might have had something to do with the full moon last night...I dunno!

2 more months to go & we will be in sunny FL and then on to our cruise! Can I get a WHOOHOO!

:goodvibes hRachael

Don't worry about being crafty, just use whatever you want. Last year we used a stocking, but I think this year I am splurging and ordering one from Stitches N Bows on Etsy. She is a DISser and makes beautiful things. I just have to decide what I want!

I will gather the list of DIS names and post in a bit so you can make sure you are accounted for on the FE list and send me your info if you have not already.

As for what to give and to whom? Up to you. You can give 1 gift per cabin, or something for adults and/or kids, whatever you want, no rules, just fun! We loved coming back to the cabin to find gifts, and with 7 nights, the fun lasts longer! You may want to bring a zip tie to attach your FE to your fish outside your door, just remember to bring scissors to detach so you can bring your FE home with you again!

As of 10:35 last night, I finally got through our entire thread - that's how dedicated I am! ;)

Gailyn - So sorry to hear about your TV. I'm sure your insurance will cover it - just hope you have a low deductible. Generally, your premiums shouldn't go up with just 1 claim. Believe me. I'd know. We've had a major sewer backup last year that basically made them replace our entire finished basement, and ours still didn't go up. Good luck with that!

Rachael - WHOOHOO! Crazy morning here too. My 3 yo woke up this am and said "Mommy, I want a hardboiled egg." When I told him I have to cook it first, he said "No, I want a hardboiled egg but I don't want you to cook it." :headache:

Have a good day everyone!

Annabel

Just ordered my FE from Stitches N Bows too! So cute & for only $25...not bad! Now to finalize the gifts...I think we are gonna stick to giving things that reflect or are made in our tiny state of CT!

Now, on to workout! Just put DD on the school bus & DS is about to fall asleep for a nap...perfect timing!

:yay: Rachael

Wow - the FE list took off today!! I'm glad that we have time as I'll need to regroup and add to some of my stuff.

Here I thought I was really smart when I bought a bunch of FE stuff about 9 months ago. I was going to sit back and think how I was so far ahead of the game by having everything done...guess again! Better get our inventory updated and get ready to order some more stuff! The kids are going to be exhausted running from cabin to cabin. :woohoo:

I have lots of ideas, but held off because I wasn't sure on our numbers. I think I will start REALLY planning now since we are only a few weeks out from the FE deadline of October 15.

Almost 1/2 the cabins are on Deck 6, so hopefully that will help. I know it took longer than I thought last year and we only had about 16 cabins, so I need to plan accordingly for this year, at least I have more days/nights to deliver!

Hard to believe we are close to 2 months away from our sail date, and I know know those last 2 months will FLY by!

Question for FE veterans: Assuming we don't get a HUGE influx of participants, and are relatively close on cabin numbers now, how long would you think it will take to deliver if we did them all on the same day???? (Remember it's just DH and I, no kids to send running ahead :rotfl:). And it makes me wonder if I could count this as workout activity :yay: HA!!

I need to do an adjustment to FE inventory also, seems we all had a "magic" number that we were thinking of! :upsidedow

I know for us these next few weeks are going to fly by - due to work schedule etc, DH is only going to be at home for 3 weekends between now and when we leave :scared1: Makes me think I need to get his "honey-do" list updated :lmao:

Yeah, no kids here either!!! Maybe we can "borrow" one or two for delivery service?

I wake up really early (I have to be up at 4 for work every morning) so I hopefully I can get it done early in the morning before the passageways fill up with people and carts....;)

I'm so excited! :banana::banana::banana:
