Wow!! Congrats to everyone with their new jobs!!! What a blessing!!!

Can't believe it's less than 3 weeks for us!! I have pretty much everything all set, still need to make out our final grocery list for Wegoshop, but everything else is coming along. It's so hard to be wearing the clothes we will vacation in!! I have all our suitcases out and stacked in our bedroom and keep throwing things in as I think of things. I have a list going of things we can't pack until a couple days before. We get back from this vacation and school starts a few days later, so I am trying to have back to school stuff done as well. We travel to Haiti 3 weeks later and so I have another stack in our bedroom of Haiti trip stuff. Whew...gonna be a busy couple months!

Congratulations on your adoption! I can't even imagine how exciting it must be!

DD & I are going to WDW in about three weeks as well. A week after we get back, both of us and DH are headed to Europe for two weeks. So I have a bag semi-packed for that already too!

Ok, 1st time at Disney for us. when do you check show times? We are going 8/28, not sure if I should start looking them up now, wait a few weeks, or check once we arrive. Thanks in advance for the guidance.

Show times - we tend to check the daily schedule when we arrive, this year it's no big deal for us as we'd rather spend our time riding rides. You can get a good idea of what will be showing and when from the calendar on the WDW site though so if you like to plan exactly when and where you want to be you should start now

Happy planning! First trips are soooo magical! I can remember planning a ton and when we got there we had a hard time sticking to the plan because there was so much to see and do!

I haven't been disappointed that my DH isn't going with us until now. I read this sweet post with a DH checking over his list twice, "wife and lil girl tucked in bed" Just like Santa Mouse as it were. LOL Now I am thinking I'd like to share the WDW magic with my DH, but alas he will never return to Fla.

I would check Disney's official website now: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/calendars/magic-kingdom/2013-08-28/#timeofday=allday.

Then, the week before our vacation, we always check the following website: www.wdwent.com.

This thread just gets more and more exciting. Congrats on all the new jobs. For those of you there now thanks for all the great updates. We are at 19 days now. It's getting even closer. Friday night we watched the animated Alice in Wonderland. DD and DS had never seen it, and it had been a very long time since DH and I had seen it. DS thought it was one of the strangest movies he'd ever seen. I enjoyed it. I think tonight is Pocahontas. None of us have ever seen that one. It's so funny how we have our favorite Disney movies and watch those all the time, but there are many we have never seen.

Aww, my husband isn't able to go this time, either. He is using up his vacation days for our beach trip that we start on Saturday! I think he is a little jealous that we are going without him, but then again, getting the house all to himself for six days is kind of like vacation anyway! He is watching me pour over my planning binder, and he says to me that when we go without kids, then he wants us to go with the flow. LOL

I forgot to add in my previous post. There was some talk about pressed pennies earlier. We do them all the time. I like the list on presscoins.com. DD is a huge Lion King fan, and with a list we don't miss any of her favorites. Sometimes searching for the machines brings us to spots we otherwise may have overlooked. Hope this helps.

Lime Green Mickey Heads are here!!!! I finally got around to getting the new ones finished up for this years Team August! Those who had them last year will notice a few changes...the lime green is definitely brighter and it prints out just about right on my printer. (Went thru many shades of testing lol) Also redesigned the font a bit so more of the image shows thru. The printed size as is comes out to about 9.5" wide by 7.5 inches tall. Since they are a .png file they resize pretty well so you should be able to print in any size.

They are fully customizeable! Just let me know what design you would like and I can usually have it ready for you in a day or so. I'll use your forum user name by default, but if you want something different just let me know! Also if you want, I can change the background to just about any character but realize that some may not work well with the shape of the text.

Hi everyone!!

I'm taking a break from cleaning lol. 10 days!!!

Congrats to those that got the new jobs! That's awesome!

Hope everyone who is there now is having a great time! Thanks for your updates on here and on the FB page!

So, I have a game plan in motion for the next week. I'm only working in the mornings this week so it makes it a little easier to get stuff done. Today is deep cleaning, organizing, putting away, etc. I'm also taking the suitcases and our Disney backpack out to air out a little and to start throwing stuff in there that I know we won't need until then. Tomorrow (or possibly tonight), I'm going to Harmon's for some last minute stuff and then being lazy with my friend watching movies. Thursday is to wash and iron the curtains (I only have two rooms with windows in it so its not bad. Cali's has left a trail of hair on all of them so they need to be washed lol). Friday, idk yet lol. Saturday, we are spending the day with DH's family in Long Island. Sunday, PACK!! Wooo!! Monday I start working full days so I won't get much done. Tuesday is our 2 year wedding anniversary!! I'm going to cook DH something good for dinner and we'll just relax. Wednesday is finish cleaning and packing. Thursday is the Backstreet Boys concert!!! Friday we leave!! Lots and lots to do between now and then but the busier I am each day, the faster I'll be in Disney World lol.

Well only 9 more days till the Darkside and 18 more day till Disney! I picked up a few things on Monday for the trip...as well as getting school supplies since we are back on the 1st and won't have time to do that before school starts on the 3rd! I also placed my order at GG for Universal and had a call from the today to confirm. I'll put in another order on the weekend for Disney as I want to get some stuff for there as well. Had a hard time figuring out the size of things as oz and gallons don't mean anything to me any more! Had to keep converting things into grams etc. and then going to the frige so I could see the size! Hope the milk fits, I got two half gallons sizes figuring the full gallon wouldn't fit. None I just need to cross my fingers that Disney has the friges in at the CBR for the last week. I think I'll call the day before we leave and see what's up there and see if I can request one and at least then I'll know if I should take our softsided cooler bag for milk and juice and water. I'm getting a ton of water but I think we will need it and I'm bringing little bottle of Mio and Mio Sport with me so if we end up fill up our empty bottles in the parks we can add some of that. Hear the water in Orlando doesn't taste so good.
Told everyone they needed to make a list of anything they needed but I doubt they will do it! Someone will say they needed something as we are going out the door at 4am to catch our plane! Thought I've gotten better in reminding myself that we are going to the US and not the darkest jungle in the Amazon and yes there will be stores if we need to pick something up! I always drive myself crazy thinking what did I forget. Now I'll just have to dig the suitecases up this weekend and start packing slowly...though I expect the cats will end up sleeping in them for the most part.

I just had my final exam for my summer class........and I got 100%!!!!

I'm so happy and relieved (and a bit proud of myself). Plus this means I'm getting close to the trip! 19 more days!

I also just switched around one reservation because I wanted to fit Characterpalooza and Fantasmic in. Now we'll be going to Biergarten on our last day for lunch instead of dinner, and then we'll go over to DHS. Now to start planning my outfits
