WHOA MOMMA!!!! Wait a minute!!!!! How the HECK did I miss THIS post????!!!! Holy HANNAH!!!!! I am SO HAPPY for your family!!!! This is just WONDERFUL news!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS to ALL of you!!!!! I pray you have a very easy process!! God Bless you and your family!!!!

LOL! I can hardly believe it either :)

Thanks to EVERYONE for the well wishes, you have know idea how heartwarming it is. The DIS boards are a pretty amazing group of people. Though there are times when posts and threads get out of hand, there are always more that are supporting and encouraging.:lovestruc

Our MB's came today! I was shocked to receive them since there was never a 'shipped' status, nor an email and each time I called Disney they said it was a fluke that I could customize bands since I didn't receive an email we weren't part of the test. I think more people are part if the test than realize it.

but I am bursting to "share" and we've decided to wait to tell family and friends so thought maybe I could tell all of you!:flower3:

We are adopting a daughter from Haiti :lovestruc, just started the process on Tuesday this week. We've been considering this for several years, but just started seriously thinking/praying about this since early April. God has blessed our family the last couple years and we feel he has put Haiti in our hearts for a very specific reason. We are stepping forward in faith that there is a little girl who will become part of our family...so excited...and a bit nervous. Haiti is not the easiest place to adopt from, their system is a bit unorganized. We will just have to be patient and trust God in his timing.

So, in 32 days we head to Disney on what will probably be our last trip as a family of 6. We've decided Disney is on hold until after the adoption is complete....but look forward to visiting with our new daughter some day!

Thanks for letting me share :)

So excited for you all! After Disney, we plan on starting the saving process for a house and adoption.

Same for us! We'll have to grab our ponchos and go! This is the first time I didn't get insurance and silly me didn't even think about hurricanes/weather!

We had insurance last time and got back less than we paid as my niece visited the hospital twice and missed several days.

Trying to make a tentative schedule of park days. One thing I REALLY want to do this year is rope drop at MK. Does anyone know if they do this at the EMH early opening or the public opening when they have morning EMH?

They definitely do it at EMH as I have been there for it. It is so much fun!

Thanks for the warm welcome Loreli!! Looks like I have alot to read...

Do any of you take a backpack or bag to the parks? ;)

My DH will carry a backpack. We will also have a drawstring bag for extra clothes and autograph books.

Hi everyone! Just wanted to pop in as I have been hanging around more on the facebook page than here on the DIS...looks like I have missed a lot! congrats to all those with such exciting news for your families! I am SO excited to be nearing our departure day! Can't wait to see "my happy place!"

Just curious...did you get insurance through Disney or another company?

It was Disney. We paid around 180 or so and we only received 129 back, not cool. She missed at least 4 days, one of would stay with her (we'd switch)and miss out as well. We lost all those DxDDP credits as well and used them to buy snacks. That was nice that we could get something for them, but we had numerous snack credits already left over and those meals were worth way more than 3 credits. It isn't worth it for us to purchase the insurance.

Wow. Really good to know. I like the insurance plan Disney has for their cruises, but I wasn't impressed with their WDW version. I looked into private insurance, but wasn't thrilled with those options either. It's helpful to hear some feedback. Thanks!

Wow... glad I didn't pay for it for this trip. I considered it because of hurricane season but I've gotten it and not needed it a few times so I decided to gamble.

Hi, my name is Lexi. Hope I can join you all! My daughter (9) and I will be staying at the All-Star Music Resort from 8/8 to 8/15. :wave2:

WOW! Your almost having the same vacation as me and my family (me wife and our lil gal 8 -9 years old on the 12th of aug)!
We're at All Star MOVIES and we're staying from the 6th -14!
It's awesome to know that there will be some disney posters out there at the same time!
Keeping our fingers crossed for good weather!

Wow. I just found this thread and it is crazy long! We will be at SSR from 8/11 to 8/15 with DW, DS(11) and DS (9). We meeting my mom and my neice who is 13 and has never been to DisneyWorld. It should be an amazing trip for her and us!

:welcome: Nice to go with family!

My mom finally agreed to a back pack once I convinced her we should carry one. I have 2 kids who need supplies! We will carry a laundry list of items, sun screen, change of clothes for DD7, ponchos for rain, 3 cameras, water bottles, snacks, phones, cooling cloths, kids and adult tylenol, flavoring for the water. Oh and 'probly some other things I am forgetting this morning.

I can't believe it's finally getting this close! I'm so excited! There is only one thing I am hoping will clear up and that is the weather. Every year my DH and I go the same time (mid-late Aug) for our wedding anniversary. And we actually have always had good weather. This year I keep checking and checking but it's all thunder storms. Well that will not ruin the trip for us but hopefully the rain gets out of Florida's system soon so we can all have great trips!

After looking at the forecast for August I thought this would be funny.

The official slogan for Team August!
