We took the tour when our boys were 6 and 4.They still talk about it! We were fortunate enough to be the only family too! The CM we had was so animated! We got to ride 2 rides along the way with no wait and had a special meet and greet at the end. I think it was well worth it if you have the time to take part:)

Maybe I will try to switch around an ADR to do it one morning then. :-)

Hi Everyone! I was previously apart of the August 2012 group but didn't think we would be going this year. Depressing, I know. My DH said that we would go and stay at his parents condo in Kissimmee but not go to the parks (double depressing). However, my husband surprised me the other day by telling me not only will we be going to the parks, but we will be spending half the week on property! I'm so excited! The tentative date is the week of the 26th. I'm not 100% sure when we will be going yet or what hotel we'll be staying at but after the crappy year I've had, I'm so excited!!

Welcome Back!! Glad you were able to get your WDW fix this year. Keep us in your loop!

Seneca Wolf - I am so sorry to hear about your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. I hope this trip with your sister gives you both some great memories and time to heal from your loss.

Christine - so glad to hear everything is getting better. I know that had to be scary for you and your family.

Joshsmom - you and your son have been through a lot and I am hoping all the best for the next set of test results!

To everyone - sending lots of pixie dust and positive thoughts for an awesome summer with no speed bumps along the way.

We are now at 75 days and our trip changed completely last week.
DH decided he really didn't want to go on this trip. He is not a Disney fan and wants to save his limited vacation time for the holidays. so now that we are 4 vs 5, I changed us to Allstar Movies from POR. I saved $$ even with upgrading to the regular dining plan. It will be me, my adult dd and 2 dgd's, a girls only trip! We have never stayed at ASmo so looking forward to a new resort.

We'll be at POR 17-24th, too. We're going on the 18th. Our oldest son will be just a few months shy of 11. They could be tour buddies.:goodvibes

Aw, bummer -- we don't get in until the evening of the 18th. I think we may do it the 21st. Maybe we'll run into you at the pool! My guy would love a friend to swim with. :)

Darn. The 21st was our alternate date, but our little ones are doing BBB that morning. DS would love someone other than is little brother and sister to swim with.:goodvibes

Just wanted to say I'm still around. I read all of the posts but it's hard replying to them from my Iphone. Hopefully once school is out and I'm on vacation I can use my laptop to reply.
Glad to hear some people are able to go on their trips and that others have payed off their's.

joshsmom: I'm 60 days out too. i looked at just the first page of the online check in and it's exciting. I'm still debating if I'll do online check in. We are going to wait until our balance is payed off to do anything though.

TTYL guys

Tomorrow is 60 days for me!! Woohoo!! Do you have to have it PIF before you can do online check in?

Interesting question! I don't have an answer for you because since 60 check in is relatively new to us. We've always been PIF when we did online check in because we could only do it 10 days out before.

In other news.. 82 days to go here! I was looking at my summer schedule today and trying to put things in the calendar and realized between soccer, basketball and maybe tennis for ds, dd's social calendar and dogsitting, my full summer work stuff, and dh's commuting almost 3 hours a day.. we are BUSY this summer. Then you add in birthdays and bbq's and get togethers and gardening and blah blah blah and I have a feeling that this summer is going to absolutely fly by!
It will be trip time and back to school before I know it:rolleyes1

I was treated for 11 years at a hospital in Toronto that has an entire wing dedicated to the neurosciences. Initially, I had an awake craniotomy to remove the tumour by the most amazing neurosurgeon EVER....I owe my life to him and his amazing team. After 10 years, they stopped my seizure medication and thankfully, I have had no recurrent issues (despite some residual scar tissue that remains). After 11 years, the doc wished me a good life and send me on my way :cool1: .... after, with a shaking head and a smile, the declaration of "I just don't know what to do with you! You are not supposed to be this healthy!" :rotfl: . (in 1998, I was given a 50% change of living 5 years)

I am lucky. Jake was just two when I was diagnosed. I bought him the book "Love You Forever" that Christmas, and wrote to him in it in case I wasn't there to tell him my feelings later in life. There isn't a day that goes by that I'm not grateful for the privilege of living. I attended a support group for many years here in my hometown for brain tumor patients and survivors, and so many of my friends lost their battle.

I am so happy to hear that your arm is resuming its normal function! :thumbsup2 Woohoo!

Wow, I can't even imagine how scary and stressful that must have been! And to have a baby to take care of on top of it all! I'm so glad you had such a positive outcome and happy ending :)

JC at MK!!! Call and find out if they do it at night. We will be in MK that day. As a good Dis Buddy I could always ride JC for you, take pics and tell you all about how great it was :rotfl2:

:lmao: sounds like a plan. I am going to poke around and see if anyone knows if it runs at night.

We priced out Great Wolf Lodge for a couple of nights over Canada weekend, and almost fainted :faint: . A few days during the summer in Niagara Falls can make an Orlando trip look cheap!

We did Canada (QC, Montreal, Ottowa, Toronto and Niagra) one summer as a cheap alternate to Disney. :rotfl2: I could have gone to Disney twice!

Good morning all!!! Doing my Happy Dance this morning because I am at my 60 day mark and I JUST did my on-line checkin!!!!:cool1:

I have seen debate about whether or not this is a good idea. I think I was so excited that it was time to do that, I just wanted to do SOMETHING, so I did it!!!! I requested ground floor (for my mom) and Toy Story building for DS (his request). So, hopefully we will get our requests. If not, I will just be so happy to be there, I won't worry about it!! :dance3:

Koh1977--we did the Family Magic Tour several years ago and DS STILL Talks about it!!! It was AWESOME!!! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

Wow! I can't believe some August people are hitting 60 days!! All of a sudden time is flying, and as much as I can't wait, I don't want the summer to fly by.

I have never done online check-in before either, but I'm with you on this one - I just want something to do! I did do it for our cruise, and it worked out very well.

This family magic tour you all are speaking of -- is it pricey? Would my 11 year old enjoy it, or is it for little ones?

My boys were 13, 11 and 8 when we did it and they loved it.

I don't know. I did not have to be PIF to check in for my cruise. Let us know if you find out.

I hope everyone had a good weekend. We've had a quiet one here - I've mainly slept and read. :thumbsup2

I agree with you about Niagara Falls. We took our kids several years ago there. We went to Marine Land (Everyone loves Marine Land...not so sure about that) It was quite an expenssive weekend. :rotfl2:

Niagara was supposed to be my honeymoon 13 years ago :-( it remains on my bucket list! We ended up camping in waterton park for our honeymoon lol

LOL, no doubt!!! :rotfl: But I bet it was a great trip nonetheless. Each of those cities are totally unique to the other and offer some great attractions :) . (But I'm perhaps a little biased, too, being the good Canadian girl I am :lmao: ).

Marineland is such a disappointment ..... particularly after visiting SeaWorld. We haven't been in years. I hope you also got to partake in some of the classic Falls attractions while you were there.....like the Maid of the Mist. Now THAT's something worth experiencing! :thumbsup2

The Niagara region is great. We try and get there at least once a year (its about 4 hours from home for us, so a very doable drive). Nothing beats standing on the hurricane deck of the Cave of the Winds......that, in itself, is worth the trip. I hope you get a chance to visit the Falls someday. Maybe for a 25th anniversary trip? :flower3:

All this talk of Niagara Falls has me yearning for a trip. I think I might switch up our Canada Day weekend to include a few days at the Falls after our brief stop in Toronto instead of the original plan :scratchin . All of a sudden, I feel like pigletto :rotfl: .... time for a switcheroo!

Wow...I'm exhausted.

I went to Target today and picked up $1700 in gift cards with my RedCard for $1615 to pay off our remaining balance. Then I got home and started paying off the balance $50 at a time. This is the first time I've ever had an issue with the Disney website (I know many have had issues with it) and it was agonizing. You can only enter one gift card at a time, it was very slow to process things and after two or three cards it would kick you out and have you sign back in again, sometimes two or three times before it would let you pay more. All in all I think it was about 2 and 1/2 hours to enter 34 gift cards.

The upshot is though that the trip is paid for now.

So with the recent price increase and our desire to come back next June I'm reconsidering the AP purchase. I'm going to bust out Excel this week and see if it is worthwhile.

Phew just reading that tired me out lol! 2.5 hrs to pay off yikes! But hooray for you it's paid!!!

We won't be doing online check in since we're staying with DVC points borrowed from a family member. But we did it last time we were there and didn't have any problems!
