I think that we'll just have to see how things go on the first day and adjust where we need to.

This! It's great to plan things out, but when you have kids with you, sometimes you have just to go with the flow! I overplanned for our last trip and within the 1st hour of our 1st day I realized my plan was going out the window. I'm sure you will figure out what works best for you!!

Just got my tax return done, got my time off approved, and I'm officially going June 21-29! Staying at The Tropicanna from 6/21-6/26 and at DPPH from the 6/26-6/29. :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Yay!! after you book and settle on dates it makes the trip so much more real!

I just received our Photopass + package in the mail today :yay::yay::yay::yay:....actually it was delivered by my neighbor because it was sent to their house instead :sad2::goodvibes. It's another thing I can add to our pile of things going with us :goodvibes. I also got all of our trading pins together and put in our pile. I was also going through my kid's closets and realized that they will be needing new bathing suits and capris for the trip....I am thinking a shopping spree will be happening soon :rotfl:.

....I am thinking a shopping spree will be happening soon :rotfl:.

This happens to me every Disney trip. I start out thinking that we have everything we need and we won't need a big shopping trip before we go/pack and every time I end up at the store several times. It's all good, though, who doesn't love shopping when the reason is prepping for a Disney vacation?

I have fab news IF I can work all this out.

Our trip is suppose to start on May 5. My company is having a conference in nearby Irvine from May 1 - 3.

I'm trying to convince my husband to let me stay in CA and just fly out with the kids to meet me there. The benefit to this is that then my company would pay for my flight and I wouldn't have to be flying back and forth within 24 hours of each leg. DH is opposed to this because he's not sure he would be able to handle flying with the kids alone. I'm working on convincing him and even planning to take all the kids luggage with me so he doesn't have to worry about that.

There is a possibility that my co-workers and I would take the day of the 4th to go to DL which would be awesome as my family aren't fans of thrill rides, so I could all of that out of my system.

The savings of the flight would of course be canceled out by getting an extra day at DL for me, including another night's hotel stay, but it would be so fun!

The only hard part about this is I was planning on buying our plane tickets in the next couple of weeks when we get our tax refund, but I won't know full details on our conference probably until April so I'm a little hesitant to move forward with this plan. I might have to risk flight cost and just buy 3 tickets for my family now and wait to see if I have to buy my own flight later on. We're planning on flying Southwest so the seating wouldn't be an issue, but I worry about having to buy my own ticket and then the flight being sold out by the time that decision is made. :scared1:

I'm probably way overthinking this.

What do you guys think of this plan?

at age 10 and 2 tell your husband flying shouldn't be that hard. I frequently do 4 hr flights with a 4 yr old and 6 month old. He just needs to be prepared. With the 10 yr old he should be ok. Books/small games/snacks. My 4 yr old has a nintendo ds and that can entertain him for many hrs out of the flight. I'm from Canada and have never flown southwest, but do they have tv in flight? That also helps entertain kids. Movies on a laptop or iPad will also help.

Good luck convincing him!!

DH said he's fine with taking the kids by himself (it did take a bit of convincing), and my boss confirmed that my company will pay for my flight home even though I'm extending my stay.

So now I just have to find a hotel room for the night of the 4th as the HOJO rate for this night is now ridiculous!

YAY! I'd just look around for the cheapest one nearby--it's only one night, so if you don't love it it's no big deal. OK, I might not take the cheapest one--I know there are a couple around the people say to avoid, but most of them would be fine.

SCORE!

I was booking my room for the conference and discovered I had a free night certificate at a Marriott hotel so I just book a room at the Townplace Suites for FREEEEE!!!! :cool1:

Want to join but not sure where we will be staying yet. We where suppose to go in March but DD just tore her ACL and will need repaired so will be doing that for Springbreak(March 7th) instead  Thank goodness we are flying Southwest and able to change flights without fees and was cheaper so instead of driveing from San Fran we are flying.

Who's going myself, DH, DS(11) and DD(16) both will be having B-day during trip

Trip Plans
San Fran 1-3
DL 3-6
Family 6-9

We are currently on a waitlist for GCV for a 1BR. I not feeling hopful on that waitlist coming thru. Any suggestions on a place walking distance that has breakfast, clean and the major thing is that it is a suite. Husband is very against all in one room 2 nights in San Fran will be all he can handle.

So excited for this trip:cool1:

Congrats, nothing gets better then that, well except if it was a free night in a Disney Hotel :rotfl:. You've got some major Pixie Dusting going your way :cool1:.

We will be at the Hojo Anaheim in the kids suite for 11 nights, beginning of May.

We stayed there last March and loved the suites and the short walk to the parks!

Can't wait!!

:):):)

We booked our hotel room at DLH for May 6-9!! I bought Disney presents for each day that we will be gone to give Dad and the little kids. I bought them Dvd's, candy from the party store, t-shirts, pjs, etc. Then I went to Denver and remembered to hit the Disney store! They have super cute insulated charater cups on sale for 5 bucks so I got one for each of them. They all know we are planning to go again with them soon. I'm debating on reservations still but have a week or so before I need to figure it out. I did buy one park hopper at King Soopers last week when they had 4X the points. I plan to buy the others soon also.

I love the idea of the gifts. On our first trip we did a paper chain ahead of time to really build the excitement. About every 5 links there was a sticker that corresponded with a gift I had wrapped in disney paper. Most of the gifts were from the dollar store, but the kids really loved getting all the Disney stuff.

BTW- We were going to go that week, but opted for the following because of Bats Day. I don't care, but DH didn't want to be around all the Goth people.

Lana :)

I bought the gifts for the kids who are staying home LOL. I think I will let the boys I'm taking buy whatever they want in the parks each day, instead of a surprise each day. They are older ( 9 and 10) and there aren't tons of cheap things they will get excited about LOL

What is Bats Day and when is it? We are scheduled for that week and I'm curious.

I believe it's the 6th.I maybe wrong on the exact day. It's when the Gothic people celebrate at DL. Google it. There is a website.

Lana :)

We don't arrive until the 5th, so I guess I'll attempt to explain goth to the almost 4 year old and hope it's not too crazy. :)
