“IT’S OUR MOTHER DAUGHTER TRIP!” Our Spontaneous Getaway - April 2011 COMPLETE 9/13

You are officially the luckiest girl ever! I was wondering why you hadn't updated in awhile. Ha! :upsidedow

That little Faith sounds adorable...one day she will be reading along on your trip reports! She sounds like a future DISer for sure! :surfweb:

Bummer Jasmine wasn't there, but you are the perfect stand in! You have her pose down pat! :thumbsup2

Mmmmm that strawberry looks amazing! popcorn::

I love love love your pictures with Aladdin! So cute! I usually only get that way with Peter Pan but I can never get him alone, that darn Wendy is always there!
I used to get crazy for Hercules and his awesome muscles but you can never find him anymore. I remember the last time I saw him I told him I liked his biceps and so I have a picture somewhere of him making a muscle and me feeling it :lovestruc

And I LOVE Tiana. She is a true princess though. She married Prince Naveen so she is a Princess by marriage much like Cinderella. I can't wait to meet them in October, I'm pretty sure I'll have to get in line early for them.

Oh my gosh, that stuff in Germany is to die for. I got a chocolate and caramel covered pretzel last December and wanted about 3 more after that.

Hey!

I just got done with your family trip so of course I wanted to read this one!

I also wanted to let you know because of your amazing food photos we booked a breakfast at Olivia's for our last day :yay: I need to try that Banana Bread French Toast! My boyfriend and I were both drooling over those pics  You also made him decide on the Tonga Toast for breakfast at Kona which I am excited about because I want to try a bit but I could never eat the entire thing

Yay about your recent trip! I can't wait to hear all about your frumptastic trip and see all of the deer faces!

Love the coffee mug! I really wanted to get one of those but they didn't have any when we went :guilty:

You should definitely look into D23! You are sent a magazine every season and the pictures in it are gorgeous! Also with how often you go you are bound to run into a special event they have! We went to the anniversary party over a year ago and I got to meet my favorite Gaston!

I believe the strawberries are a snack credit :thumbsup2 They were good but those carmel apples were way better!

Great pictures loved the update!

Wow that is so awesome you just got back!! I was kinda wondering why you hadn't updated in a while. Cant wait for another Frumptatstic TR though!

That little girl sounds precious, I'm glad some kids are still being raised right as Disney lovers:thumbsup2 lol
And that Aladdin is just too cute, I love how he had you pose just like Jasmine!

I love how you got to meet Aladdin without Jasmine there. Those pictures are fantastic!

I'm sure you all had a great time last week. It'll be fun to read about more frumpy adventures. :goodvibes

Yay on having another trip with Kristen - can't wait to hear all about the trip!

Love that you got to be Jasmine for the day and pose with Aladdin! :woohoo:

Love the picture with Aladdin. Lucky girl...:rotfl: Faith sounds so sweet; I always enjoy sharing in my excitement over WDW with other park guests. And kids always seem to be the most enthusiastic. I remember standing in line for RNRC and this little 6 year old girl behind me wanted to tell me every detail about Expedition Everest, because I told I'd never been on it before. She even told me how many of those bell you can ring in the queue!

The Lady and the Tramp topiaries are adorable! I can't believe I missed them when I went. :confused3

I should have asked! I was just deeply hurt at the time. Haha!
We're actually going to do to DisneyLAND for my 16th birthday weekend! Well, it's not booked or anything and we still have to learn a lot more about it - but I really think we're going. I'm excited!

----------------

Oh my gosh! I can't WAIT for your next TR! :tinker: Very excited!

Aww, Faith seems sweet! It's fun meeting people like that. I'd like to join D23 to go to the expo in Anaheim. It was this past weekend and it looked so fun.

Love your picture with Aladdin!

Can't wait for more. (:

Hahaha yeah I always just ask because I want all of the kids stuff haha
Oh my God Disneyland!?!? ahh i wanna go there so bad! I only went once and I was 12... I really want to go again! I hope you book everything soon - that sounds so fun!
Eeee I'm excited for my next TR too! It'll be a good one!
Faith was cute! And oooh I bet that would be fun! I wish I could go too!

Haha I can't believe it either! It was fantastic! I'm sure you'll enjoy the TR!
And thank you LOL. That was a fabulous afternoon, I have to say.

YAY! YOU'RE BACK! (: Are you kidding me?! You three back in the World again?! You guys need to invite me to these things. I should be an honorary frump or something LOL JK I can't wait to hear all about it!

That's so sweet you met another Disney freak and what is this you were saying about Tiana?! LOL She's my favorite Disney princess. But I'm so glad you got to see the movie, LOVE Princess and the Frog, next to The Lion King, it is my favorite Disney movie. I also gotta give a :thumbsup2 to Faith for having such good taste, Sanaa=Best Restaurant on Disney Property! I'm going out on a limb, but yes, it is true (: And that's so sweet her dad brought her on a surprise Disney trip, if only I had one of those (can you say mini-conniption? LOL)

Great pictures with Aladdin! I can definitely tell you were in heaven when he had you be his Jasmine for awhile. This whole Disney crush you have with Aladdin is just great :D

I love those Lady and the Tramp topiaries, one of my favorite Disney movies. If I go back during the F&GF I will need to get a picture next to them :thumbsup2 I also need to try that Caramel shop, everything looks really good in there.

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

I'm not kidding! It's the truth! Unfortunately we didn't get to see Vickie as much because her plans didn't line up with ours and Kristen's... but we saw her a little bit! And we're introducing a new frump to the group who I'm sure you're all gonna love!
And if we're ever in the world at the same time you will most definitely be an honorary frump!
Haha I like Tiana now. I still am thrown off when she's on the merchandise... but she has grown on me A LOT. That movie is literally one of my favorites.
And mmm Sanaa. I'm reviewing that one really soon! That's my Mom's favorite Disney restaurant too!
LOL if you had a surprise disney trip it would result in a giant conniption :P
And hahaha my Disney Crush <3 I think everybody has one. Or a few. I also have one on Prince Naveen. And Prince Eric. And Flynn Rider. Aladdin is #1 though LOL
And yes I love Lady and the Tramp... and Carmel! Yay.

Your picture with Aladdin was great.

Hahaha thank you!

Wow Jess that is so awesome you guys were able to be together at WDW again, what an awesome surprise.

Hahaha if I don't update for a while.... assume either I have too much schoolwork or I went to Disney LOL
And yeah I bet she'll be a future Diser for sure!! I'm waiting for the day she shows up on disboards!
And haha I practice :P LOL jk. But I'm glad I could meet Aladdin by himself... it made me happy (:
And mmm it was!

I love love love your pictures with Aladdin! So cute! I usually only get that way with Peter Pan but I can never get him alone, that darn Wendy is always there!

Oh my gosh, that stuff in Germany is to die for. I got a chocolate and caramel covered pretzel last December and wanted about 3 more after that.

Thank you! And haha I know how you feel... it finally happened though on this trip! I actually met Peter Pan alone in January! I hope you get to meet him someday alone, too!
And oooo Hercules <3 That's gotta be an awesome picture! I wish he still came out to greet.. I would love to meet him!
And I love Tiana, too! She still throws me off when she's on the merchandise but my tolerance level for her has sky rocketed in the past month or two. I love her now... that movie was just too good!
In this past trip we met Tiana for our first time... and we thankfully were like the 2nd last people to be allowed in line! Thank goodness or I would have been sad I missed her!
Mmmm I want a chocolate/carmel covered pretzel. That sounds fantastic! I might have to get one in December!

Hey!

I just got done with your family trip so of course I wanted to read this one!

And thanks for the info! And mmm that sounds delicious... I need to try one!!

I'm SO EXCITED for another TR..was wondering what iwas going to do with my downtime!! lol :lmao:

Great update!!! YAY ABOUT THE TRIP!!!!!! I can't believe you were here and didn't tell me :) Can't wait to hear about it!!

HEY I just had a thought!! I posted on Kristen's TR that her trip wouldn't be the same without all 3 of you there, I think she mentioned Vickie was going to be there. So I am taking FULL credit for you going. :rotfl2:

I must find that post so you don't think I am nuts. The trip was obviously already planned, but how funny that I even mentioned it and you WERE going. Gee I think next time I will have to send subliminal messages that I should go, or it won't be any fun for you girls. hahahaha (let's see if that works :rotfl:)

Two Updates in a row.... woohoo! Actually, I figured I better do another one because I'm going off to college tomorrow....! I'm really nervous haha. I hope it all goes well! I'm sure I'll continue updating because when I'm homesick, this will take my mind off of it! But if I don't update... don't worry! I won't forget about you all! I will be back! I love doing these Trip Reports too much!!

Chapter 14 - "There Comes a Lion, Oh Yes, It's a Lion"
April 9th, 2011

Have you ever looked up the lyrics to "The Circle of Life" before? Because I just did so I could put them in at the beginning of this update. And there's a translation!! I thought I'd share it with you all!

Nants, ingonyama, bagi-thi baba [There comes a lion]
Sithi uhhmm,
ingonyama, ingonyama [Oh yes, it's a lion]

dsc0973v.jpg

Nants, ingonyama, bagi-thi baba [There comes a lion]
Sithi uhhmm ingonyama [Oh yes, it's a lion]
Ingonyama

Siyo Nqoba [We're going to conquer]
Ingonyama

Ingonyama nengw' enamabaal [A lion and a leopard come to this open place]

dsc0972p.jpg

.....pink pajamas, penguins on the bottom, pink pajamas, penguins on the bottom....

(Just kidding, the frumps made that one up )

Then I think you all can understand the English part haha

So interesting! I never looked that up before. I just thought I'd share that with you all because I thought it was cool. I thought it was fitting because our next stop was seeing the Lion King Topiaries! (And we're staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge... perfect.)

dsc0971f.jpg

Our next country was China, where we found little topiaries of the animals of our birth years!

I am the year of the Rooster, which says:

"The Rooster is a hard worker, shrewd, and definite in decision making often speaking his/her mind. (I would say that is true!) Because of this you tend to seem boastful to others. (Oh no, I sure hope not!!) You are a dreamer, (YES!) Flashy Dresser, (Am I, now? LOL) and extravagent to an extreme. (LOL is that a good thing?) Born under this sign you should be happy as a restaurant owner, (I do love food...) publicist, (sounds a little boring to me), solider (NO way!) or a world traveler. (do you mean a DISNEY world traveler? because if so, that's totally me!)"

dsc0974f.jpg

And Mother was the year of the Ox! That one says:

"A born leader (yes she is!) you inspire confidence from all around you. (She totally does... such an encouraging woman) You are conservative, (yup!) methodical, (?) and good with your hands. (okay... sure!) Guard against being chauvinistic (...?) and always demanding your own way. (oh no, never that one!) The Ox would be successful as a skilled surgeon, general, or hairdresser. (How about an excellent Mother? Because that's what she is!)

dsc0976v.jpg

After reading about ourselves, we went on the Maelstrom!! What a wild ride.

dsc0981b.jpg

In Mexico we saw these cute little guys:

dsc0985u.jpg

And then we went on the Gran Fiesta Tour!

dsc0986ow.jpg

Then we back tracked to China and got Egg Rolls and Pot Stickers for a little snack. Yum! I love that Chinese quick service!

dsc0993y.jpg

We walked back to Future World and there was a character out greeting with barely any line!

Here's a hint....

dsc0994z.jpg

(I just love that it's Aladdin, Jasmine, and Belle. 3 of my faves!!)

The character we were about to meet, though, was DUFFY THE DISNEY BEAR!!

dsc0996w.jpg

I LOVE this picture of Duffy and Mother. It's too cute.

dsc0995l.jpg

We said goodbye to our new friend, Duffy, and then we stopped to watch the fountain show, since I'm obsessed with that beautiful thing.

dsc0999v.jpg

Next we went to The Land, went to the Bathroom, and went on Soarin'. We sat in Row 2!

And I noticed that the announcer in the preshow makes a lot of Deer Faces! There's a good one right after "We'd like to acquaint you with some important safety information." LOL I hope you think of us next time you go on Soarin' and see that!

Everyone on the ride was SO into it! It was a great experience!! There must've been a lot of first times! They were all so excited and they were laughing and screaming. What a high energy ride!

And of course, to encourage them, I started the applause right after the ride. Thank you, thank you very much. - takes a bow and does a princess wave -

We decided to leave Epcot after that, and the bus pulled right up! YAY!

We went to the Jambo House because I wanted to look for more dresses. I tried one on, but I didn't really like it. I did get some tanning oil, though!

We walked back to the room, got changed, and went down to the pool. We laid out for about an hour and a half.

We went back to the room and I noticed that my shoulders got burned while we were in the park today, and my face got burned while we were at the pool. Oh well! I got some color LOL

I took a shower, and then we went downstairs to look at the animals!

dsc1009v.jpg

Here's the giant window in Kidani:

dsc1010u.jpg

We went outside and saw Ostriches, (which are MAJOR frumps if you have never noticed) giraffes, Zebras, etc.

dsc1021j.jpg

There are just AMAZING photo opportunities at this resort!!

dsc1011r.jpg

So I'll just share a bunch of pictures with you!

dsc1014wk.jpg

We went outside to the observation deck to see all of these fantastic animals!

dsc1015c.jpg

Whoever thought of the concept of Animal Kingdom Lodge was a genius.

dsc1017c.jpg

Ahh I love it!

dsc1019w.jpg

Then it was time to head back inside this beautiful building:

Great update!!! YAY ABOUT THE TRIP!!!!!! I can't believe you were here and didn't tell me :) Can't wait to hear about it!!

YAYY! And aww I'm sorry!! I totally would have but I had to keep my lips completely sealed! It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do :rotfl: I can't wait to share!

HEY I just had a thought!! I posted on Kristen's TR that her trip wouldn't be the same without all 3 of you there, I think she mentioned Vickie was going to be there. So I am taking FULL credit for you going. :rotfl2:

Gee I think next time I will have to send subliminal messages that I should go, or it won't be any fun for you girls. hahahaha (let's see if that works :rotfl:)

hahaha I remember reading that post and I just chuckled to myself... "little do they all know....." I loved that you wrote that. Your subliminal messages seem to work! You must have just known! I give you credit LOL :goodvibes

I just read through your whole trip report, and I love it so far! :thumbsup2 I can't wait to read more! I love that you just walk around enjoying the atmosphere, which is something that my family and I love to do.

My mother and I went on a mother-daughter trip to Disneyland Paris last summer (we're from the UK, so obviously that's a bit closer than Florida!), but I'd love to do WDW just the two of us one day.

I hope everything goes well for you in college :goodvibes

So I am the year of the rooster too. ;) Let's see...

Roosters are extremely sociable and prefer being the center of attention, always bragging about themselves and their accomplishments. They continually seek the unwavering attention of others which can be annoying. Roosters are as proud of their homes as they are of themselves. They’re extremely organized individuals as evidenced by the fact that their homes are always neat.

I am sociable. Don't know about center of attention though. :rolleyes1

Roosters are highly motivated and hard-working; traits that enable most Roosters to have successful careers. Not surprisingly, Roosters make good actors, musicians and dancers. Other good career choices for Roosters include: CPA, banker, dentist, insurance agent, secretary, and book keeper. Roosters also do well in the armed forces

Huh....very me. Actually was a dancer for a number of years and am now going to be a CPA.

And because I was born in '81, this apparently applies to me!

These Roosters have really big egos and are forever seeking willing listeners who can help keep those egos inflated. Metal Roosters analyze everything. Their aggressive nature keeps some prospective friendships and relationships from developing.

:lmao:

I love the Maelstrom too! I remember the first time I went on that ride and we went backwards, I freaked out. Didn't help I was also only 10 years old....

Where did you get the dress you wore to Epcot?! It is adorable! Thanks...Love your TR

I love your pictures with Duffy!!!!

The AKL pictures are fabulous as well! You're so right...it is such an amazing concept!

Enjoy your transition to college!!!! I know you'll enjoy every minute! :thumbsup2

Aww thank you!! Yes, we're big "soak it all in" people in Disney. We've done all of the rides at this point so the atmosphere and the food is usually our big concern these days.
Aww that's so cute!! I hope you get to! WDW mother daughter trips are fabulous.
And thank you! I hope so too!

Hey, hey fellow rooster!! Hahaha these reviews make us seem a little obnoxious and egotistical :rotfl: Which I don't think we are!! I like the sociable and hardworking part though... those sound good!
And haha aww I know I was scared to go on it when I was 10 too... those good old days.. :lmao:

Great updates.

Good luck going off to college!!

Thank you!! I hope it all goes well!

Where did you get the dress you wore to Epcot?! It is adorable! Thanks...Love your TR

I got it in Mouse Gear in April! They don't seem to have them anymore though! :( I think the sundresses are only out in the spring because people have been looking for them and they're gone :( And thank you for reading!

I love your pictures with Duffy!!!!

The AKL pictures are fabulous as well! You're so right...it is such an amazing concept!

Enjoy your transition to college!!!! I know you'll enjoy every minute! :thumbsup2

Thank you! I love Duffy!
And aww thanks! I know... such a fantastic resort!
And thanks! I hope so!! :)

That's really interesting about the Circle of Life, I had no idea that that was the English translation.

The grounds at AKL are so gorgeous, was this your first time staying there?

Good Luck at College Jess, I'm sure it will be a great experience for you:goodvibes
