Chapter 14 - "There Comes a Lion, Oh Yes, It's a Lion"
April 9th, 2011
Have you ever looked up the lyrics to "The Circle of Life" before? Because I just did so I could put them in at the beginning of this update. And there's a translation!! I thought I'd share it with you all!
Nants, ingonyama, bagi-thi baba [There comes a lion]
Sithi uhhmm,
ingonyama, ingonyama [Oh yes, it's a lion]
Nants, ingonyama, bagi-thi baba [There comes a lion]
Sithi uhhmm ingonyama [Oh yes, it's a lion]
Ingonyama
Siyo Nqoba [We're going to conquer]
Ingonyama
Ingonyama nengw' enamabaal [A lion and a leopard come to this open place]
.....pink pajamas, penguins on the bottom, pink pajamas, penguins on the bottom....
(Just kidding, the frumps made that one up

)
Then I think you all can understand the English part haha
So interesting! I never looked that up before. I just thought I'd share that with you all because I thought it was cool. I thought it was fitting because our next stop was seeing the Lion King Topiaries! (And we're staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge... perfect.)
Our next country was China, where we found little topiaries of the animals of our birth years!
I am the year of the Rooster, which says:
"The Rooster is a hard worker, shrewd, and definite in decision making often speaking his/her mind. (I would say that is true!) Because of this you tend to seem boastful to others. (Oh no, I sure hope not!!) You are a dreamer, (YES!) Flashy Dresser, (Am I, now? LOL) and extravagent to an extreme. (LOL is that a good thing?) Born under this sign you should be happy as a restaurant owner, (I do love food...) publicist, (sounds a little boring to me), solider (NO way!) or a world traveler. (do you mean a DISNEY world traveler? because if so, that's totally me!)"
And Mother was the year of the Ox! That one says:
"A born leader (yes she is!) you inspire confidence from all around you. (She totally does... such an encouraging woman) You are conservative, (yup!) methodical, (?) and good with your hands. (okay... sure!) Guard against being chauvinistic (...?) and always demanding your own way. (oh no, never that one!) The Ox would be successful as a skilled surgeon, general, or hairdresser. (How about an excellent Mother? Because that's what she is!)
After reading about ourselves, we went on the Maelstrom!! What a wild ride.
In Mexico we saw these cute little guys:
And then we went on the Gran Fiesta Tour!
Then we back tracked to China and got Egg Rolls and Pot Stickers for a little snack. Yum! I love that Chinese quick service!
We walked back to Future World and there was a character out greeting with barely any line!
Here's a hint....
(I just love that it's Aladdin, Jasmine, and Belle. 3 of my faves!!)
The character we were about to meet, though, was DUFFY THE DISNEY BEAR!!
I LOVE this picture of Duffy and Mother. It's too cute.
We said goodbye to our new friend, Duffy, and then we stopped to watch the fountain show, since I'm obsessed with that beautiful thing.
Next we went to The Land, went to the Bathroom, and went on Soarin'. We sat in Row 2!
And I noticed that the announcer in the preshow makes a lot of Deer Faces! There's a good one right after "We'd like to acquaint you with some important safety information." LOL I hope you think of us next time you go on Soarin' and see that!
Everyone on the ride was SO into it! It was a great experience!! There must've been a lot of first times! They were all so excited and they were laughing and screaming. What a high energy ride!
And of course, to encourage them, I started the applause right after the ride. Thank you, thank you very much. - takes a bow and does a princess wave -
We decided to leave Epcot after that, and the bus pulled right up! YAY!
We went to the Jambo House because I wanted to look for more dresses. I tried one on, but I didn't really like it. I did get some tanning oil, though!
We walked back to the room, got changed, and went down to the pool. We laid out for about an hour and a half.
We went back to the room and I noticed that my shoulders got burned while we were in the park today, and my face got burned while we were at the pool. Oh well! I got some color LOL
I took a shower, and then we went downstairs to look at the animals!
Here's the giant window in Kidani:
We went outside and saw Ostriches, (which are MAJOR frumps if you have never noticed) giraffes, Zebras, etc.
There are just AMAZING photo opportunities at this resort!!
So I'll just share a bunch of pictures with you!
We went outside to the observation deck to see all of these fantastic animals!
Whoever thought of the concept of Animal Kingdom Lodge was a genius.
Ahh I love it!
Then it was time to head back inside this beautiful building:
