“IT’S OUR MOTHER DAUGHTER TRIP!” Our Spontaneous Getaway - April 2011 COMPLETE 9/13

ooh, I love that I finally got caught up, then log on and see a new update! :goodvibes

I won't bore you with all the names of the new fairies, because yup, I know them all. That's what happens when you watch the new Tinkerbell movie over and over again with your little girl, or at work with little kid patients. (I have also seen Tangled sooo many times with one of my fave little patients)

Last time we went to the F&G Festival, the butterfly area was themed with the fairies so we got a pouch of seeds to plant with the fairies on it. Sadly, they didn't sprout and bloom for us. But then again, I can kill a plant just by looking at it, so I may not be the best judge.

You have great taste!:)

I can say that because I also bought the black dress with the mickey heads on. You, of course, are much younger and cuter than I am in it!:rotfl:

I'm loving hearing about your Mother/Daughter trip :thumbsup2

I'm finally caught back up!

Your last few updates have me missing the F&G Festival! My fiance and I went last year and loved it. I wish Epcot was like that all the time.

I just had to comment on what you said about the Tinkerbell movie..as an obvious Tink fan, I've had a hard time liking the movie. It's hard for me to accept her talking. She doesn't talk in Peter Pan, and it just doesn't seem right to me that she talks now.

Epcot looks so vibrant with the flowers--I am glad I saw these pictures after we returned...:goodvibes

Not a cute Mickey dress to be had in WDW... I looked and looked. I am very jealous of yours (both the red and now this adorable black with blue and white.) :sad2:

The Boma breakfast looks yummy! We will have to give it a try on a future trip.

Oh my gosh all the flower pictures are so beautiful! I really love the Fairy garden ones too, that area is so magical and pretty.

Love the seeds too, how cute! Did you ever plant them when you got home?

ok so I meant to comment last time, but your dress is really cute, I love it! Really suits you!

Your picture infront of stitch is really cute too, they've done a really good job on the topiary, I'm impressed! Plus I love the framing! ;) I watched Tinkerbell's first movie because a friend bought it for me, it was alright but didn't really excite me about the others, I'm not all that big of a fan. Bambi however, I love! Those topiaries are amazing! I know your quote too, it's from A Bugs Life (I hope!), love that movie! That seed packet is cool, have you planted it yet?

Ps your English accents made me laugh, they're not bad, you just have quite a noticable American twang too them, makes me smile!! :)

Great update!
I love the topiaries..i want to go during the Flower and Garden Festival one year. It looks so pretty! :flower1:

Aww cute! I always like when CM's are handing out stuff to the little ones and I get one too. Not gonna lie - I get disappointed when I don't! I'm always a little kid at heart, especially in Disney.

Flower and Garden is gorgeous! I have to find a way into convincing my mom into going around then. Her birthday is May 12th so celebrating a birthday is always a reason to go to Disney!

Gotta love it though! Do you have a Wii? Or more specific, the Toy Story 3 game for the Wii? I got it last June when I graduated 8th grade and there's this one part where you're in a haunted house and I kid you not...they have Haunted Mansion music playing! :thumbsup2 I totally zoned out of the game after that.
I know what you mean! But glad I could help.

Haha oh me too! I 100% agree with that statement!
And oh yes you should try to! We used Mothers Day and My Birthday as our excuse for this trip!
And I don't have the Toy Story 3 game for wii! But really?! That's so funny! I would have done the same thing!

Great pictures! I just love Epcot during the Flower Festival. :lovestruc

Thank you! I do too!

More F&GF! WOOT! :teeth:

I love your picture with the Stitch topiary in front of Mission: SPACE. Those three photos paid off well :thumbsup2

The Pixie Hollow Garden is so cute! I accidentally saw that new Tinker Bell movie while just watching Disney Channel and it really wasn't too bad, though I barely even watched it . I mean, I prefer the sassy diva from Peter Pan more than the frilly and friendly Tinker Bell portrayed in those movies, but you can form your own opinion on that subject (: And I think, from my memory of those annoying Tinker Bell movie commercials with each fairy, the blue fairy's name is Iridessa and the orange one with the pony-tail is Fawn, just to let ya know.

Ooooo... the Monorail! Did you hear they are adding a new one? It's going to be Peach colored and will make for 12 monorails, which they haven't had in a long time. So cool!

That Bambi's Butterfly House looks really interesting! That would be fun to walk through with all those butterflies and the topiaries are adorable "You can call me Flower if you want to." And the "Beautifuly Butterfly" quote is from A Bug's Life just had to put that in there LOL And I love the little seed package you got, I'd think that be the only push for me to start planting-- Yes Bambi I will Hahaha

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Yay! And thank you!
And haha oh did you really? Yeah, I just haven't taken the time to watch them. I'm not sure how I feel about it. But then again I said that about Princess and the Frog and now that's one of my top favorite movies ever
And I did hear about the peach monorail!! That's awesome - I'm so excited!
And you are correct about the quote! Good work!
That butterfly house was adorable - the Bambi theming was a good idea!

Oh the Bambi topiaries are so cute!!!! And I love all of the butterflies!!!

How nice that the CM gave you some seeds as well! :thumbsup2:cool1:

Aren't they? It was so cute in there! And yes, that was so nice!

I would really recommend taking a flower arranging class sometime! I went to a huge state school, so it was super cheap to take through our horticulture department. And landscape architecture! I took an intro class in that and it was really interesting - or at least, more so than you would think.

I feel like when they put up the science-y buildings they get dated very quickly unless they're aimed at young kids or they bring in people with experience in creating those types of exhibits. I've seen some really terrible and really amazing please-touch type of science experiments! Or even open it up to eat in or something!

I don't really understand the new Tinkerbell series, though my best memory of Tinkerbell is the vindictive, jealous, and nice sometimes one from the actual book! I guess it's kind of going back to the original, because in the book she is a tinker and fixes things? We're not going to be watching the Peter Pan movie (or fairy ones, I guess) anytime soon (very awkward Native American scenes), and we aren't in their targeted demographic, so I'm sure Disney isn't listening to us anyway!

I like the Stitch photo! The positioning came out great! The butterflies are very pretty as well. I love butterfly gardens. Did they have a lot of varieties of butterflies?

The seed packet is so cute! Have you planted them? Are they wildflowers or something else?

I'll be on the lookout for those classes!
And yeah, I can see what you mean. Oh well... I'm sure they'll do something with that building someday.
Oh really? Yeah that sounds controversial I suppose. I just am not interested in seeing the new movies... I feel like younger kids might like them but I grew up with the classic movie.
And I actually never got to plant them so I don't know! I'm sorry!

This picture is pretty :) The alignment of everything in the pic is perfect!

I somehow never got intrigued by the Disney Faries. I have always enjoyed peter pan so not getting into the faries is a mystery to me. I am the youngest child in my family and i was in high school by the time the faries came into play so i guess i was just exposed to them 2 late.

One of my really good friends has always been super into Tinker Bell so everytime i see anything related to tinkerbell i think of her

I love the pics you managed to get of the flowers. The picture of the flower with the morning dew on it looks so pretty!

Yay for the monorail! I'm sure kristen will be super psyched to see the pic when she gets back from Disney.

Lol at the bugs life quote

I love when cast members are willing to give older people things they are passing out to kids. I love asking for kids menus at restaraunts and and asking for the magic wands at cinderella's royal table.

Also I noticed in you previous post the you mentioned the big bouncy balls saying "Balzac" on them. I just finished up being in a production of music man. It was through a community theater company at one of our local churches. I was in the chorus, my mom was a pick-a-little lady/the farmer's wife, my brother was the assistant music director and was in the quartet and my dad built the sets.

Thank you!
Yeah that's kinda how I feel. I just felt to old for them by the time the movie was released.
And thank you! That's one of my favorite pictures... I felt so professional when I took it.
And I agree... I always ask for the child stuff. That's the way to go - especially in Disney.
And oh my gosh that's an awesome story about Music Man! I hope you had lots of fun! That musical will always hold a special place in my heart!

ooh, I love that I finally got caught up, then log on and see a new update! :goodvibes

Haha great timing!
And LOL aww that's cute. I love how children can just watch the same movies over and over again and never get sick of them!
And oh that's cute! I'm sorry they didn't grow for you, though!

You have great taste!:)

I can say that because I also bought the black dress with the mickey heads on. You, of course, are much younger and cuter than I am in it!:rotfl:

I'm loving hearing about your Mother/Daughter trip :thumbsup2

Thank you! Aww I'm glad you got it too! And I'm sure it looks beautiful on you! And thank you! I love telling you all about it!

I'm finally caught back up!

Yay! And aww I do too... but then again it's a nice special thing.
And oh my gosh she talks in the movie?! That's weird. I don't know how I feel about that either. :sad2:

It was beautiful!
Oh no really!? What the heck! They're probably all out in the spring and then by summer they get rid of them. Aww what a shame.
And mmm I hope you get to! Very delicious.

Aww thank you!
Yes, it's very nice! And hmm I'll probably watch it once but it's not really a priority. And aww Bambi is a cute movie! And yes, Bugs Life is correct! And no I never did get to plant it!
And hahaha oh good I'm glad they're not too bad :rotfl: But the American twang is inevitable, I suppose!

Great update!
I love the topiaries..i want to go during the Flower and Garden Festival one year. It looks so pretty! :flower1:

Thank you! I hope you get to - it's lots of fun!

I love all the topiaries but my favourite have to be the Bambi ones - they are just sooo cute!

Lol I would also not be able to name Tinkerbell's friends - I just call them that!

I love the picture of you with the Stitch topiary. Mission Space is aligned perfectly in the background. Stitch is one topiary that we didn't get to see.

I'm glad you got the Bambi seeds, too. Those look fun.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST TOPIARIES!!

dsc0939s.jpg

I went on the Backstage Magic tour a couple years ago... and I remember seeing these in the Green Houses because it wasn't Flower and Garden Festival time yet. It was cool to see them out on display now... knowing where they originally came from!

dsc0943o.jpg

While we were in France, we noticed that there was no line to meet Sleeping Beauty! The only thing I remember about this Meet and Greet, though, is that these little bugs were attacking her dress. It was sort of gross, actually. I felt bad for her. I think she went inside about 5 minutes after we met her.

Gosh, I am loving all of these Flower and Garden pics! Everything is so stinkin' pretty. I can't handle it. I think Chip and Mrs. Potts are my favorites. :lovestruc

I know what you mean about close up flower pics. A few trips ago, photos of close up flowers were pretty much all I took. It was an addiction. Thankfully, Disney has plenty of pretty flowers. :rotfl:

I'm with your mom...I love HGTV. I've been watching it all summer. I feel like such an adult. Next thing I know, I'm gonna be ordering things from QVC and using Life Alert... :lmao:

Isn't it all just so beautiful!? :cloud9: I love it. And those topiaries are some of my faves! So cute!!
And hahaha that's awesome! Well they're super pretty, so I understand why you would get addicted!
And hahaha Kristen and I watch QVC ALL the time.... :rotfl: So funny. Hey, those endless commercials with the "Or-green-ic Frying Pans" and the Rolling Hair Straightener just never get old! (okay maybe they do...)

I don't think I can ever get tired of pictures of the F&GF so pretty. Those close-up pictures of the flowers are so pretty. They always look neat separated from the background. I think those Beauty & the Beast topiaries are my favorites, brings back memories of when I was in that play :') And wow, you really got to see those Chip and Mrs. Potts topiaries before they were out?! That's so cool.

Love the cup with all the strawberries, very cute :teeth: The area back in the UK pavilion looks really cool. I really should check out that pavilion more. The Tea Garden looks so pretty :goodvibes

Awwww... that does sound gross! Good thing they brought her back before it became really bad. Poor Aurora :(

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Totally missed the Bambi Butterfly house update:confused: Now that I've gone back and seen it, I'm inspired to go the the during theis time frame just to see all the flowers and Bambi, which is a favorite of mine!

Beautiful Pictures!

I love all of the flower pictures! Those strawberries in a tea cup??? Too cute! :cutie:

Poor Aurora...I'm not a fan of bugs! That would of really freaked me out!

I'll be on the lookout for those classes!
And yeah, I can see what you mean. Oh well... I'm sure they'll do something with that building someday.

Yeah, my boyfriend is Native American, so he's more important to me than Peter Pan or Pocahontas. Though I do like the new(ish - apparently it came out in 2003! I feel old.) live-action version of Peter Pan. And Hook!

That's okay! I'm pretty sure they have to be wildflowers to survive the various conditions they're subjected to before being planted!

I love the little fruit plants! So adorable! And HGTV is fun, though I think we've now seen every House Hunters show ever.

Having bugs on my clothes and being unable to move away/get them off of me is one of my worst nightmares! Poor Aurora!

Haha well I have lots of F&G pictures... so that's good!
I agree.. those flower pics are awesome.
And aww you're SO lucky you got to be in that show. I got cut from that one when I was a sophomore and I'm still sad about it
And yes! On the Backstage Magic tour they took us to where they grow the F&G topiaries! I saw tons of them!
Yes, the tea garden was pretty!
And I know...that was probably not fun for her :sad2:

Totally missed the Bambi Butterfly house update:confused: Now that I've gone back and seen it, I'm inspired to go the the during theis time frame just to see all the flowers and Bambi, which is a favorite of mine!

Beautiful Pictures!

I wonder if Bambi will still be the theme in years to come... hopefully! Because it was really cute! Thank you! :goodvibes
