    *** January 2019 Thread ***

Hi there! Chiming in a bit late. My family is all set to stay at OKW 1/19-1/27. Kind of have a weird split stay situation, with 1/19 being near Hospitality House, 1/20 standard, and then 1/21-1/27 near Hospitality House again. Hoping that my waitlist for 1/20 near HH goes through! Excited to be...

Memory Maker, yes or no? Tell me your experience.

Our first experience with Memory Maker was 2014. Prior to that trip we would have never bought it, but it was new in 2014 (converted from PhotoPass) and it was on sale. Also in 2014 I had my parents on the trip and it was their first time at WDW so we decided to do it. In short, I wish we...

The 2016 Disney Parks Moms Panel Search Begins!

It's my first year applying, as well. I miss the application period every year and made sure to put it in my calendar this year! 1) First name: Diobel 2) Specialty applied for: DVC 3) Location: Orange County, CA 4) Kids/Grandkids (nieces/nephews/furbabies/etc.): DSs: 5 years and 10 months 5)...

    Supportive flip flops?

DH and I wear Sanuks. Sanuks use yoga mat material. There are various styles but just the normal flip flops are great for the parks. I've worn them around DLR and WDW.

What did you do that you thought was a waste of money?

In January I wouldn't waste so much money and time on character dining. Between the lower crowds and FP+ you will have plenty character interaction and time in the parks. We will be there for 8 days/7 nights this January and only have 1 character meal confirmed (Crystal Palace breakfast).

"You know he won't remember it" what do you say back?

When someone says this to me I say you're right he won't remember. That doesn't stop me. We love to travel and enjoy the trips we've taken with DS5 and now DS1. Disney is our thing. We are DVC members and AP holders. Not everyone will understand but to each their own! Enjoy your trip! We will...

First Time Visiting In January - What to expect?

I agree with what everyone has posted. Jan 2012 was amazing - 70s everyday. I wore shorts and shirts most of the trip. Jan 2014 was cold - first half of trip was highs of 50 and lows of 30. End of trip was high of 80 and lows of 50. We were staying at a 1BR villa in 2014 so we didn't have to...

All four Disney Parks in one day!

We've done this no sweat! We were staying at BWV at the time. Took the bus to AK. From there took the bus to MK. Rode the monorail to EPCOT. Then finished our night with a stroll to HS before coming back to the resort. We wanted to do a couple things per park. This was at the end of our trip...

Which resort for 3 year old boy in Dec...

We took DS5 to BC when he was 3 and he loved it. Easy walk to EP and DHS. Beach was a huge plus as he could just play with the sand. How much are you planning on staying at the resort?

How long have you been a DVC member?

Coming up on 6 years... best investment we've ever made!

    Restaurants for Toddlers

Things to consider with your toddler: patience, noise, and energy level. DS5 was not the type of child where we could do a full park day and then expect him to sit through dinner (no matter if it was buffet, table, or QS) and sit patiently. He was tired, we were tired.. it just wasn't a good...

Dining with an Imagineer: Would you change your plans?

You guys really bring up so many compelling points. I'll have a serious talk with my FIL... maybe even consider doing in room babysitting so that he doesn't have to worry about entertaining my kids for a long time. This ADR is a few hours, right?

How long is breakfast @ H&V?

Id say with kids it's 90 mins for everything. They also have dancing so that also plays into that. =)

    Whole milk available in restaurants?

The resort markets generally have whole milk and a couple of quick service restaurants (Village Haus in MK had it on our last trip) though this isn't always the case. I haven't had much luck with TS. To be sure we purchased the half gallons from our resort market and refilled a thermos we...

Dining with an Imagineer: Would you change your plans?

This is why it's so hard for me. I'm really on the fence with this one. It'd only be my DFIL watching both my young boys. I know myself - I'd feel guilty the whole time I was at the lunch. It truly is that little voice telling me that I need to act now bc HS is a weird place right now. LOL...

Dining with an Imagineer: Would you change your plans?

Yup - and that's another reason why I am likely going to let this ADR go. Though he wouldn't mind watching our boys my guilt factor would be sky high.

Dining with an Imagineer: Would you change your plans?

I was "window shopping" ADRs for my upcoming trip and was lucky enough to snag a reservation for DH and I for Dining with an Imagineer. The problem is that I would definitely have to rearrange my plans to go to this ADR (was an MK day). Also, we are taking this trip with my DFIL, DS6 and DS1...

Via Napoli - Some of the best pizza I've ever had

So happy to hear Via Napoli is still receiving good reviews. We are finally headed there in January! Can't wait!

Which DVC with preschooler and infant?

I would recommend BWV/BCV or one of the MK DVC resorts. As others have mentioned BWV is within walking distance to two parks so if you need to take a break it makes things a bit easier. Also, I am guessing you will have a double stroller which will also help with not having to board a boat...

    Travel bag for stroller

I also would support just buying the bag. We've done this on every trip and it has been nice to place extra items in (ie blankets, rain covers, etc) for the stroller and also keeping the stroller clean.
