Returning to cabins after 20+ years?

I enjoy camping so my response is biased. To me there is nothing better than getting back from Disney and the hustle and bustle and waiting and rushing and rushing..to wait...., and kicking back on a comfy chair with favorite beverage, on the porch or at your campsite. The kids frolicking...

Just back from our first trip...

For coolers we use dry ice broken up on the bottom and then cover with reg ice. Then we use large baking pans to sit on top and put our food in these. The dry ice will keep the reg ice solid for days. Top area turns into fridge.

    Bugs

YELLOW FLYS are the things to be concerned with. do a search. Early morning and evenings. best way to keep em away is with a big fan. Theyre kinda slow and easily smacked but can give a good bite which affects people differently. Their lifespan is June thru early August around there.

Never camped in a tent before

Its nice to have somewhere to sit down inside the tent as opposed to trying to sit on the side of the air mattress. The heat, rain will drive you in at times so remember to be comfortable inside too. Putting on shoes, sitting and having coffee or drinks..watching tv if u bring one, somewhere...

    Pop-up Gizmos

They will also give you protection if your having water intrusion thru the top seams. Get the biggest they make so you have extra room over the sides and back. The metal clamps have a painted on rubber tip that will come off easily and the edges are very sharp..so if your not careful it will...

Need a list of "cons" please!

8 days in a tent, with a 9 month old. Nah. Lifes short, and you cant take it with you. Make this a vacation. You will have a fridge, stovetop, and a\c as well as table and your own bed with the popup. Otherwise you will be hauling all this stuff.

    Arriving in March

Thats a nice amount of time. I'm a Floridian and we (I) always get stuck cramming too much parks into the day. Theres nothing better than getting done early with a park, relaxing at the pool and jacuzzi, and then taking the kids and a few drinks down to the beach in the evening. ..or not...

    Cost of Milk at FW?

We popup so we use a drink and food cooler. I have found that dry ice chopped up and mixed with regular ice for a base, then covered with reg ice kept us frozen for 4 days. It was cooler out that weekend. Just dont let anything actually touch the dry ice, the drinks will freeze and explode...
