    Need for bug spray?

We'll be arriving at the Fort next week, and I'm wondering if there's a need for bug spray. (I'm assuming yes, but I haven't spent much time in Florida in the summer.) Is it mainly needed just at night/dusk or all day? Will we need it in the parks, or just at the campground?

    PINs for online checkin?

I did online checkin last night and it wouldn't let me proceed until I'd entered PINs for everyone in our party. My husband and I already had them (from a previous visit? I hope I remember what they are!) and I didn't want to put them in for my kids but I didn't have a choice. Does this mean my...

    Argh! Pandora mess-up!

We're going to Disney World next week. I'm a compulsive planner, so I had everything figured out months ago...and that included skipping Animal Kingdom. But then my husband and oldest son NEEDED to go to Pandora. I'd never even seen the movie, but it seemed important to them, so fine. I didn't...

How far in advance to reserve golf cart?

How far in advance do we need to reserve a golf cart? We leave in a week...are we likely out of luck or are there likely to be carts if I call today/tomorrow? If I reserve one now and then after a day or two at the Fort we decide we don't want it, can we take it back and cancel and get refunded...

    Kids Dramamine

I called our doctor to ask about giving my kids a half dose of Bonine since I'd heard good things about it, but she said the only thing she recommended was Benadryl, which I'd never heard of for motion sickness. I think she said 12.5 mg? (Not sure, but I wrote it down somewhere.) I guess we'll...

Share your Disney parenting hacks (packing, etc.)

Last time we went, I took "Grumpy Chips." They're circles of card stock with a sticker of Grumpy on each one. Each member of the family is assigned the same number of chips, and each one is worth 5 minutes of being grumpy. Want a Mickey bar and can't have one? You can be okay with it, or you...

    Can someone explain fire ban?

Oh no! My 8-year-old is devastated about the Chip & Dale campfire (and I kind of am, too). My husband is a career fireman, though, so I get it.

    Can someone explain fire ban?

I saw there's a campfire ban at Disney World. Does that include the Chip & Dale campfire/singalong, too? (My marshmallow roasting forks JUST arrived!) Can we use the barbecues at the cabin sites? I'm assuming no fire pits?

    Hamilton Tickets

I've gotten tickets for Chicago three times now (twice during the first release, one during the most recent release). It took three devices, a few browsers, and about an hour when they first went on sale, but it was totally do-able. I can't say it'll be the same everywhere, but it was possible.

I won a Disney gift card, have any of you ever?

I won four tickets to Disneyland several years ago. I didn't even know I had entered a contest. Our cable company was running some kind of promotion where if you signed up for a new service or something you were automatically entered. I didn't even know until the tickets showed up at my door. I...

Last Minute Trip.. at 29wks pregnant - What "not so popular" advice do you have?

The most pregnant I went to a Disney park was Disneyland when I was about 7 months pregnant with my second. I had really easy pregnancies in general, but a long day of walking while pregnant would always leave me with a sore back. Some stretching and pregnancy-safe yoga poses (especially at the...

    'Ohana bread pudding...

Can I piggyback on this to ask something else? Is it possible to get the bread pudding without the ice cream? (I'm not sure if it's served individually or family-style. I'm the only one in the family who wouldn't want the ice cream. Don't judge, LOL.)

    Extra Things To Do

We haven't been yet, but if you search for the menu for the Chuckwagon (I think) it lists prices. They sell full s'mores kits, separate bags of marshmallows, and separate sticks. I want to say the full kit was something like $9, so it would definitely be more cost-effective to bring your own if...

    Extra Things To Do

I lived near Anaheim for 20 years, so at Disney World I like focusing on the things that Disneyland doesn't have (or doesn't have anymore), like Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, Carousel of Progress, People Mover, the countries in Epcot, etc. Epcot also has that Phineas & Ferb scavenger hunt. My kids...

    Advice requested for WDW vacation!

We've been to Disney World a few times, but I lived in Southern California for 20 years so I consider myself a Disneyland veteran. With that in mind, these are my suggestions: If you find yourself short on time, make anything you can do at Disney World a lower priority. Some rides are a bit...

    Teva Sandals

As I said earlier, I LOVE my Teva Mush flip-flops, but after reading the discussion here yesterday I decided to look into some Teva sandals, too. I owned a pair WAAAAAY back when I was in high school (like 20+ years ago), but haven't since then. I wound up buying a pair of the Hurricanes and I...

    Teva Sandals

Haha, the original Mush is more mushy, IMO, but it's NOT squishy. There's a nice spring to it, but it's a firm foam overall, not like a nerf ball or anything.
