ALOHA! The Polynesian Resort Information Thread: June 2013

2 1/2 weeks until we check in to the Poly! :cheer2: We are planning on attending the 10/14 MNSSHP party and I got to thinking about the monorails - are they still running that late? I know at one point they stopped running the monorails past 11, even if you were staying at a monorail hotel...

New to DCL. Leave in 6 weeks!

Thanks! :goodvibes Anyone know how the Hyatt is that is located in the airport? Is it worth it to pay more and stay there or would you get an airport shuttle to a cheaper off-airport hotel for the night? :confused3 We would need 2 rooms for sure. Recommendations??? Thanks.

New to DCL. Leave in 6 weeks!

My mother decided to take myself, my sisters, and my sis-in-law on a cruise in October on the Dream.:banana: 6 weeks!! So excited, however, having never done a Disney cruise, none of us are sure of the best way to transfer from MCO. We have 5 people and 2 of us are flying...

Wow! Haven't been on the DIS in a while, but couldn't contain my excitement any longer and had to get back on now that we have confirmed our reservation at the Yacht Club for Marathon Weekend!! :cool1: Husband is going "goofy" and doing both the 1/2 and the full marathons so we are trying...

ALOHA! The Poly FAQ: Winter 2011 Edition

THe hair wrapping is just right across from where it used to be. If you are standing at the zero entry area and looking at the castle, it is to the right. :goodvibes Sara

ALOHA! The Poly FAQ: Winter 2011 Edition

Just FYI, what we did was pull up to the valet, unload all our luggage with bell services (who then loaded it onto the golf cart for transport around to Hawaii) and then had them valet park our car. The next day we were going to AK and driving anyway, so we got our car from valet and then...

    Polynesian vs. CR

Just returned from a week at the Poly and had a wonderful time. :thumbsup2 The whole resort is just magical. Our room was spotless and we had amazing mousekeeping! The view cannot be beat as I like to see the castle rising up over the horizon as opposed to behind a parking lot. The fireworks...

ALOHA! The Poly FAQ: Winter 2011 Edition

We hit the lounge on most nights we were there and the menu posted is still fairly accurate. There were some nights that I didn't see what was posted here, but I'm sure they try out new things and/or leave something off the menu due to supply list, availability, season, etc... Here is what I...

ALOHA! The Poly FAQ: Winter 2011 Edition

A few more cell phone pictures of the Poly from last week. Here are a few beach shots! Here are my feet and my girls getting started on their sand castle for the sand castle building competition. There were at least 10 teams working on castles. It was a lot of fun! Our finished...

ALOHA! The Poly FAQ: Winter 2011 Edition

Here are some pics from last week. I apologize for the not-so-great quality as these are all "my" pictures, from my cell phone, not my husband's, taken with his Nikon D80. :sad2: His will be coming shortly - as soon as I can get them off his computer and upload them. They will be much...

ALOHA! The Poly FAQ: Winter 2011 Edition

We hit the lounge on a couple of mornings last week prior to 7 (MK had 8 AM openings) and they had the cereal and coffee out when we got there around 6:45. Right at 7 they started with the rest of the goods! :thumbsup2 Yes, there were high chairs in the lounge! The punch is divine...

ALOHA! The Poly FAQ: Winter 2011 Edition

There was some work being done, just not consistently every day. So I can't imagine it being a work permit issue. No idea though. :confused3 You might be ok in another month if what they are doing is not too outrageous. The "huts" surrounding the quiet pool appeared to be fine and I'm...

ALOHA! The Poly FAQ: Winter 2011 Edition

Just back from a week at the Poly! :sad1::sad1: We were in a Garden View room in Hawaii - first time in Club Level! It was fabulous!! :cloud9: We were given the golf cart drive-in when we checked in and the driver said that the quiet pool was being renovated (um, yeah, already knew...

Paradise and Magic..All Rolled into One Vacation! UD3/28 A Top 10 Wrap Up

Oh Missy - I feel your pain on the parade crowd craziness. :headache: It's like you know you should leave, but you debate with yourself in your own head back and forth, back and forth, and finally make a decision you have to see through. It was a tiring day for sure but the rest of the day...

    Will I like Poly?

Taken from tikiman's site, but I think it sums it up for me as far as why/how the Polynesian was designed the way it is: "I think the thing that confuses me the most is how some call the Polynesian Resort dark, 70’s, or (my favorite) "Brady Bunch". I should not blame anyone for these opinions...
