Day 6 part 1 - "Miss Diva Has A Case Of The Blabbermouth"
August 16th, 2011
I feel bad for not updating for so long, so I'm giving you two updates in two days. I'll be back later to reply to your posts.
Just like every other day, the alarm woke us up at 7am. However, unlike all the previous days, I woke up feeling extremely nauseous. It happens to me sometimes when it's early and I'm too tired. We were supposed to go to Hollywood Studios that day, but since we had a break planned for the following day, we decided to switch our days. We watched TV for a little while, then went back to sleep.
We slept well, until Miss Black Diva had a case of the blabbermouth right in front of our door.
*Before I go on I want to apologize if I offend anyone with that comment. I'm really not one to judge and certainly am not trying to start a race war. In fact, I don't even know if the woman was black as we did not open the door. It's just that her voice fit perfectly the stereotype of ghetto fabulous that TV and movies portray.* Anyway, she seemed to be talking on her cellphone and I don't think the person she was talking to ever had a chance to place a word in the 10 minutes conversation she had. She basically just blabbered non-stop, with lots of "None of that!!" interjected in. Now why she chose our room to stop on front of, I have no clue!
That little episode left us completely awake, so we watched some more TV. At some point Ron went out to get coffee for him and toasts for me. One thing I really wanted to do, especially since we were in Disney for two weeks, was walk around the resort to explore. I took LOTS of pictures. So much so that it might take me 2-3 updates to go through them all.
Let's start with our area, the 50s.
I love how in that one even the ground around the pool looks like a bowling alley.
Then we walked along the lake and checked out the progress on the new Art Of Animation resort.
This is the Generation Gap bridge, which was suppose to link the two halves of POP Century. I hope they reopen it when AOA is open so people can explore both resorts.
We continued to follow the path along the shore and reached this famous couple.
Continuing on our way, we reached the 80s and 90s. My youth! We had to explain to DD what a walkman was, as she had no clue! You know, before the IPOD and MP3 players, there were disc-mans, and before that... I feel old!
We saw the computer pool, the most boring POP pool according to me.
Pac-Man is my FAVORITE game ever. It ROCKS!
We walked back towards the main area, passing by a very well hidden mini playground for kids. We visited with Goofy, which apparently is gone now.
At this point Ron had had enough of being dragged around, so he left to go play in the arcade.
Up Next, The 60s and the 70s on our walk around POP Century
