Zombie Apocalypse and Pixie Dust - A 2 week Disneymoon (PTR link 11/14)

Glad your first week back teaching went well. The first weeks of pregnancy can be so tough. Fingers crossed it continues to get better and easier!

Love your sunset pictures! They make me miss Epcot so much:sad1:

Love the sunset pix, they are beautiful :)

Thanks, I'm happy we got lucky enough to witness this sunset. :goodvibes

Thanks. They were a lot more chatty today, I think the newess factor of me being pregnant and them being better around me because of that wore off...

I miss Epcot too.

O.k. I'm REALLY late to the party but I'm joining in. We spoke on someone else's TR about you being pregnant and I followed you here. Nice Disneymoon so far! I wish I had gone to Disney for my honeymoon!!!

:welcome: I'm glad you decided to join my TR! I remember, we talked about counting down the days together, me for my baby and you for your vacation. :goodvibes

We could not have made a better decision by choosing to go to Disney for our honeymoon, it was everything we could dream of and more!!:wizard:

Yesterday a friend of a friend came over so I could help her plan a Disney trip for her, her sister and their mom. It's going to be a trip of a lifetime for her sister. She got really sick as a baby so she got brain damage. So despite being in her thirties, she is more like a tween. She LOVES everything Disney. They are celebrating her receiving a kidney transplant successfully a few months ago.

They are very lucky to be able to go at the end of January. Such low crowds, and we were even able to book a 7pm dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table!!! They'll be staying at POP Century with QS free dining. I'm so excited for them!!!! It was really fun to spend the afternoon planning with her. :wizard:

On my front, Report cards were due this past Thursday so that's finally done! This week will be parents interviews which is stressful. But at least we have two ped days to recuperate after. This week I will also be buying my new car! I had such a hard time deciding, I liked two cars equally. Finally a friend of Ron was able to convince him that he SHOULD see the cars as well and help me make the decision. It helped so much! I'll let you know which one I chose once it's official. :)

Yay for helping your friends plan their upcoming vacation! Planning is half the fun for me, so I understand you enjoying helping them, especially for such a wonderful celebration. :dance3:

Looking forward to hearing about which car you choose! :woohoo:

Excellent work helping out your friend with the trip! I wonder what car your gonna get I bet it's gonna be a fancy slick Ferrari! Oh baby I love fast cars! Ever since I started liking Top Gear that is. And I have a feeling that you might help me out with my return trip once I get around to doing it. Hoping to return at some point in the future in the new year.

thats so nice to help out friends like that that probably don't have a lot of time to sit and figure it out on there own and good luck with the choice of car :)

How sweet of you to help your friend's friend plan their trip! I wish I knew someone that would let me plan one for them! :lmao: Yay for a new car! Can't wait to see what you ended up choosing! :goodvibes

Phew! What a busy week!!! I usually check in on the Dis everyday, but it had been 3 days since I last logged in! Can you believe it? Tuesday I went to bed mega early, I was just too pooped. Wednesday was parents-teacher interviews. Last year I was busy the whole afternoon and evening, with just a small break for dinner. This year barely any parents came, especially the grade 1s. I spent more than an hour just pacing back and forth in my classroom, waiting for one to show up! At least those who did come were nice and appreciative of my work, so it's all good. Yesterday I had a very boring workshop, then a kinda boring teachers' convention. At least I got to spend some money on teaching supplies. After that I was just exhausted, so no computer time for me. And today I just relaxed and caught up on all my tv shows I had missed over the past few weeks (mainly House and Survivor).

Oh, and before all that craziness on Monday I officially bought my new car! I was hesitating between the Mitsubishi Lancer and the Hyundai Elantra. I really liked both equally so dragged Ron to try them both. He preferred the Elantra, mostly based on look and the fact that it comes with satellite radio. SO I was all set on buying that and made an appointment for Monday after work. Then early on Monday I got a call from Mitsubishi about a new deal on the Lancer. If you buy one, they give you a 1000$ gift card. That you can spend on anything you want. Hum, well, a 1000$ would certainly be helpful with all that baby stuff we'll have to buy!!! So now I was all confused again. Did I listen to Ron and chose the Elantra? Or did I let Mitsubishi sweet talk me with their 1000$ gift? The answer after the break!

Yay for helping your friends plan their upcoming vacation! Planning is half the fun for me, so I understand you enjoying helping them, especially for such a wonderful celebration. :dance3:

It really was so much fun planning with her! I'm even thinking of planning a little surprise for her... :wizard:

Haha, I'm not a fancy nor a rich girl, so no Ferrari for me. :rotfl2:

I'll be happy to give you tips next time you come to WDW. :)

That friend is one of 8 siblings and so has never traveled at all! Plus she's not really good with a computer, so she was really thankful that I could proved her with all my Disney knowledge. :goodvibes

Choosing a car was so hard! I think if Ron hadn't come with me in the end and expressed a preference, I would have end up with no new car. I jsut couldn't decide on my own!! :headache:

The big majority of the people I know either have no interest in ever going to Disney, or plan on going at some point down the road once their kids are older. So it was awesome of her to ask me to help her. I think I was more excited than her.

I'll post about my new car very soon, as well as what I'm thinking of doing as a surprise to my friend for her Disney trip. :wizard:

Thats a real tough choice but I think I would go with the lancer for the reason like you said, $1000 bucks towards baby stuff that you will need. I know ron wants the elantra but how often do you get a $1000 bucks given to you to do whatever you want.
I say lancer

Aww! Those sunset pictures are so pretty! I love Malestrom :lovestruc

How is everything going? I have to go back and catch up on everything...I have been to busy to dis lately. Anyway, how are you doing?

EDIT: All caught up! Looks like I only missed one big update :)

Just found your trip report and got caught up and am loving it! :goodvibes Congratulations on being pregnant!!! So exciting. I had an awful time with nausea  when I was pregnant (with my now 16 year old - time flies!) and it does get better - I promise! Looking forward to the rest of your trip report. Let me also say, you are lucky to have found a guy that loves Disney as much as you do, my hubby is a great guy but refuses to go to Disney - thank goodness my son loves Disney as much as I do!! :)

Oops, sorry! When I said the answer after the break, I really thought I would come right back and post the answer after replying to some posts. :headache:

Anyway, I chose the Hyundai Elantra! In red! At first I was going to take blue, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized the blue was way too dark and close to black for my taste. They are out of red at the moment, so it'll take a few weeks before I actually get the car, but it's ok. As tempting as the 1000$ from Mitsubishi was, I knew Ron preferred the Elantra, and I do think it looks much nicer inside. Plus, it will be a little cheaper for the insurance. I'm happy with my purchase. :goodvibes

I want to try and post a new Disney update soon. I will really really try to do it today.

That 1000$ was so TEMPTING! If I think about it too much, it's one of the two things that can make me regret going with the Elantra. That, and the attitude of the saleswoman compared to the salesguy at Mitsubishi. She was nice when thigns were going well, but so pushy the second I mentioned a negative point of the Elantra or a good point of a competitor. And that is why I try NOT to think about it too much...

Thank you, I love sunset pictures!

Everything is going okay, but as you can see from the lack of update I've been super busy with school (report cards, interviews) and super tired from the pregnancy. So I've kinda been too busy to dis as well. How have you been doing?

:welcome: Glad you are enjoying the read so far! Thank you! The nausea seems to have subsided a lot, thank you miracle pills. ;)

Yes, I can't believe how lucky I am to share the Disney passion with my hubby! It is wonderful to spend our time talking about it and planning hypothetical trips together. At least you can share it with your son, so you are not alone. :)

Hey there!
Just read day 4. Oh.... Magic Kingdom.... there is something so incredibly special about it. I love it that you guys made it to rope drop, left the park in the middle of the afternoon adn came back to use your FP's later. :goodvibes

I have yet to be able to accomplish a day like that.:sad2:

I love the fact that you sleep with your toutous. We are NEVER too old for toutous. :) And on the same note, that was so cute that you both got to ride the carrousel together.

Thanks for the great tip about the viewing spot by the hub. :thumbsup2 I will try to remember it for our next time.

We also preferred Spectromagic and I sincerely hope they bring it back one day.

Have a great week!

Day 5 part 5 - Soarin' Over Dinner
August 15th, 2011

As we left World Showcase and walked through Future World we got one more sunset picture.

DSC03145.jpg

I was on a mission to really make use of photopass so of course we stopped for another photo.

We were getting hungry and our dinner for tonight would come from Sunshine Seasons.

DSC03150.jpg

I got Sweet & Sour Chicken, with a double side of rice. For dessert I had the incredibly yummy Key Lime Pie.

DSC03149.jpg

Ron got Pork Chop with mashed potatoes and a fruit cup.

I didn't really take any other notes for dinner, so I'm guessing it was good, just not sensational (besides the dessert, of course!).

Besides knowing that it's a great CS place, the other reason why we ate at Sunshine Seasons was because we still had those Soarin' FPs to use. Even with those FPs this turned out to be our longest wait, probably of the whole trip. It took about 40 minutes to go through the entire queue and the ride itself. Obviously it was all worth it as Soarin' is amazing, as usual.

It was nearing closing time when we exited the ride so the Land building was almost empty. I used the opportunity to take more pictures of the place.

As it was basically 9pm we had a decision to make. Stay for Illuminations, or beat the crowd out of the park? We were pretty beat from our long day despite sleeping in very late, and we knew we'd be back to Epcot twice more, so we decided to skip Illuminations. (Remember this, it will bite us in the back later...). As tired as we were, this did not stop us from squeasing in one last PP photo.

We did not have to wait for a bus long and were back at POP by 9:30pm.

Ever since we had checked in at POP I had been eying this missing paint chip and finally decided to take a picture of it. Don't you think it looks like Dumbo? Or a crocodile? No? Just me? Oh well, I guess I'm seeing things. :rotfl:

DSC03161.jpg

One last picture on the way to the room. POP is just as pretty at night.

DSC03162.jpg

I have no more notes for tonight, but I'm pretty sure it went something like this : TV, writing notes in journal for this TR, and bed early.

Up Next, Hollywood Studios, or Will Our Plans Change Again?

It's to bad you have to wait for the car but it will be even better when you get it in the color you want and I love the pic of you two in front of the glowing epcot ball...Cograts on the new car :)

We love Sunshine Seasons! It's a little tradition of ours to eat lunch there on one of our Epcot days. The desserts are amazing! :thumbsup2

Uh oh, I'm scared to know why skipping Illuminations wasn't the best idea!

Congrats on the new car!

I love Sunshine Seasons! We finally ate there this past trip and it was so good, I can't wait to go back!

Great photopass pics!

I love your pictures of Pop at night, I can't wait to be staying there in 12 days! :cool1:
