Zombie Apocalypse and Pixie Dust - A 2 week Disneymoon (PTR link 11/14)

I'm so glad you enjoyed LMA! I thought you would. :goodvibes

I'm so excited to find out what little peanut is! My guess is boy! Love that crib - what a great piece! :goodvibes

I'll come back to post replies, but I just wanted to drop in quickly to give you the results of the ultrasound. We are expecting a...

HUMAN! :rotfl2: Unfortunately, the results are inconclusive, they couldn't tell us the sex. The u\s went well, and the baby seems fine. However, the technician performing it was new (I was her first patient ever) so it took her FOREVER. Peanut seemed to have his legs opened at first, but by the time she got around to checking the sex (almost an hour later :headache:) his legs were firmly closed together. I think at that point he was annoyed of being poked around on the head constantly. Oh well. I'll most probably try to go for a private ultrasound, if the price is not ridiculously high. I just really want to know and I can't wait until birth or another ultrasound in the last few weeks.

Congratulations on expecting a human! :rotfl: That would annoy me SOOOO much...I feel like when that happens, they should let you come in the next day or something so you can find out the sex, it's not your fault the baby is moving around! No way would I be able to wait until giving birth!

Great updates! I have never seen the stunt show, but we probably will on our next trip, Brandon wants to see it, and it wasn't playing when we were there in October, and we didn't have time in December. And I remember liking Indiana Jones when I was younger, but I think it's kind of boring now...Brandon and I wanted to leave in the middle of it, but we didn't want to be rude! You got some great pictures! :thumbsup2

Just spent the day reading your TR! Congrats on the baby! My husband really wants to find out what we are having when the time comes, but I don't know... I am convinced that waiting could be fun!

Hopefully you can get another U/S soon-- just so you can start preparing even more! There are so many cute things out there, I have a hard time restraining myself when I go to baby showers. =)

You little tease! Well, at least when you go to The Laugh Floor, your little peanut can raise his hands in the air when they yell "HELLLLLLOOOO HUMANS!" :lmao:

Well, darn on not being able to figure out the sex. I don't blame you for wanting to know NOW, I would too!

That would be so disappointing to get your hopes up and not get to find out! Hopefully you'll be able to go in for another ultrasound soon! Glad to hear peanut is doing well! :goodvibes

Hi everyone! I really haven't spent a lot of time on the Dis this week. First, I was too upset about my ultrasound and didn't feel like reading fun Disney stuff. It's not so much the not finding out the sex part that I'm upset about. It's more that I was very much looking forward to the ultrasound as a time to connect with Peanut. I remembered tearing up at my first view of the baby at the 12 weeks ultrasound and thought it would only be better as Peanut was now more developed. Instead, since we got a newbie, she spent a very long time taking her measurement. Now don't get me wrong, I know she was just doing her job and trying as best she could to do it well. Making sure baby is growing well and is healthy is the main reason for the ultrasound. But as the mom-to-be, spending 20 minutes staring at the brain of your baby, then another 20 minutes looking at the kidneys and stomach, it's not very exciting. She never really spent any time showing us "Peanut". You know, the whole body views, or profile of the face. Things like that. Seeing only parts in big close-up does not really convey a sense of "awww, look how cute Peanut is|" :(

So between the disappointment, the 5 nights of bad sleep in a row, and the headaches that stayed with me all day and night Thursday and Friday, I kinda stayed away from the Dis. I tried to come online one day, but barely got through half of my subscribed thread before giving up. And then I was afraid to come back here and have too much to catch up on, so I stayed away.

But I'm back now. :goodvibes I've read all your updates, but had too much reading to do to comment on most of them. My goal tonight is to do replies here, and maybe post a new update. If I can't post the update tonight, I'm not sure when it will be as we have a very busy day tomorrow and busy week ahead.

Oh yeah, busy! On top of being tired, I have salsa lessons, aquafitness class, dr's appointment, visiting my mom at least twice a week (I feel guilty not to visit her more :guilty:), etc. Phew! No wonder I feel tired! :headache: most of it is fun stuff though, so it's all good. :thumbsup2

Let's end on a tentative positive note. I called my doctor and left a message about my bad ultrasound. I talked with the secretary and I'm pretty sure the doctor will write me a prescription for another ultrasound. I'll go private this time, as it's covered by Ron's insurance. And they do a 3D part with DVD at the end! yay! :cool1: If everything goes as planned, it should be in about 10 days.

I don't blame you for feeling down! I've never been pregnant, but I can certainly imagine how much you were anticipating seeing Peanut and finding out the sex, and then getting neither of them really. :sad2: Glad your doctor is going to get you another ultrasound so you can see Peanut and hopefully find out if Peanut is a he or she! :thumbsup2

I enjoy both of those shows. Neither are must-sees for me, but I do like them both. I don't know if I will go to either next month, since I only have one day in DHS this time.

Same here. We enjoyed the shows, but we don't need to see them every time. This time we saw both as I had seen neither and we were there for two weeks. But if we ever go for jsut one week these willdefinitely be the first things we skip. In fact, I doubt we'll watch them again until our kids get old enough to enjoy them.

Very cool pictures of both shows. We didn't get to see either of them the last two years and I missed them.

Yay for making your second baby purchase! Having a good stroller is essential!

We did get some pretty nice shots. :) Out of the two, I surprisingly prefer Lights! Motors! Action!

Ron is super cute. Almost every day he practices opening and closing the stroller. Love it! And last night he was super happy showing his daughter how it works. :goodvibes

Glad you guys enjoyed the shows! We usually skip them, but maybe we'll check them out again soon!

I think that I read that someone told you that morning sickness meant the baby would have lots of hair. I was told that indigestion meant lots of hair on the baby. However, the person who told me that was my aunt who told me as a child that if I ate the crusts of my bread I'd have big breasts. That was not true. :lmao:

My SIL told me the same thing. She suffered from MAJOR sickness for almost 6 months of her pregnancy and her baby had lots of hair. But then a friend of mine said her friend's daughter had lots of hair when she was born yet the mom did not suffer from morning sickness at all. With all these "tales", who knows? :confused3

I'm going to say boy

You'll have to wait a few more weeks to find out if you are right!

I have to agree that both shows are great but once you have seen them you don't have to go again till maybe your next trip to WDW or at all :)

Exactly. It's great to see them once in a while, especially if you have time to kill and don't feel like going back to the resort. But if time in DHS is limited, there are way better things to do.

Nice stroller, Rommel. I'm still hoping for a boy damn it! Anyways glad to hear you enjoyed the Indiana Jones show and (sigh) The motor cars stunt show....I mean am I the only one who thinks the latter show is lame and very generic? And surprisingly enough I actually missed most of the shows when I was there. But thankfully once I go back I'm watching every show they there. Well...when I say every show I mean most of the shows anyways I'll still need more advice for the second trip and I'm still new to this whole "planning" thing anyway.

Thanks. I actually enjoyed the car stunts show more than Indiana Jones. but of course it still ranks MUCH lower than all the other shows like B&B, FOTLK and Finding Nemo. Those rocks! :yay:

I can't give you more advice until you research a bit more on which dates and resorts you want to go to.But once you've got that part figured out, or if you need help choosing between two different weeks/resorts, let me know. :)

Hi Mel, great update and love the photos of both DHS shows! :goodvibes

These aren't 'must dos' for us but I do enjoy them :thumbsup2 just this week I watched a special on tv about Disneyland Paris and the Studios there, where 'Lights Motors Action' originated - there were some good interviews with the stuntmen and it showed the village in the south of France that inspired the set!

Hope you, Ron and peanut are all well.. I went to see a friend today who had her baby last Saturday, she had a little boy.. so tiny! :cutie: Excited to find out what you are having... I will guess ... a girl :wizard:

Emma princess: x

Ooh, that sounds like a TV special I'd love to watch! Anything Disney is interesting, but I especially love to see the other parks. Oh how I wish I will win the lottery some day so I can visit all Disney theme parks around the world!

Ron and Peanut are doing fine. I had a rough week, but nothing too bad. Hopefully next week will be better. I've always been scared of babies because they are so tiny. I just hope maternal instinct kicks in and I'm not scared of my own! :rotfl:

One of my students is hilarious. After she saw pictures of my first ultrasound she was certain I was having a boy. Then after I said we couldn't tell the sex from the second ultrasound because the legs were closed, she came back the next day saying she was certain I was expecting a girl. Apparently her mom told her closed legs mean girl. :rotfl2:

I'm so glad you enjoyed LMA! I thought you would. :goodvibes

I'm so excited to find out what little peanut is! My guess is boy! Love that crib - what a great piece! :goodvibes

I did enjoy it a lot! Didn't think I would. :)

For the past 2 months I was certain I was having a boy. Now... I'm not so sure.

Congratulations on expecting a human! :rotfl: That would annoy me SOOOO much...I feel like when that happens, they should let you come in the next day or something so you can find out the sex, it's not your fault the baby is moving around! There are private clinics that let you come back later for free if they can't tell you the sex. the hospital, however, doesn't care about that. If the baby is healthy, it's all that matters. Which is kinda true, but it's still fun to find out! And really, I think the baby was in an okay position at first, but the technician was obviously focusing on getting all her measurements at that time. When she got to the sex part, peanut was just annoyed and didn't want to cooperate anymore. Oh well.

I think you guys should definitely go see the car show. Esepcially since you said Brandon was getting kinda Disneyed out, so it would be nice to do something that interests him. You'll probably enjoy it too. As long as you don't go in there with too high expectations, it should be entertaining enough. :thumbsup2

:welcome: and thank you!!

I'm way too curious to wait until giving birth to find out! Plus, at delivery there will already be the surprise of finding what Peanut looks like, and the fatigue of having going through labor. No need for an extra surprise. As somebody else said to me, whether you find out week 20 or week 40, it's still a surprise. 9 months can be a very long time to be waiting for something (a baby, a Disney trip :rotfl:), that it's nice to kinda break it down in smaller milestones and surprises along the way. :goodvibes

As I have posted above, I did get another U/S scheduled. Should be coming in about 10 days. I'm excited! :yay: And yes, it will help so much on the preparing. I mean, there are lots of cute unisex things out there, but there are even cuter girl or boy things.

You little tease! Well, at least when you go to The Laugh Floor, your little peanut can raise his hands in the air when they yell "HELLLLLLOOOO HUMANS!" :lmao:

hey, I had to have a little fun with my disappointing news. ;):rotfl:

I had not thought about that, you are so right! Hilarious! :lmao:

Well, darn on not being able to figure out the sex. I don't blame you for wanting to know NOW, I would too!

I do not do surprises well. I always figure things out before. And since there's nothing I can do to figure this out on my own, it's killing me. I want to know NOW!! :rotfl:

That would be so disappointing to get your hopes up and not get to find out! Hopefully you'll be able to go in for another ultrasound soon! Glad to hear peanut is doing well! :goodvibes

Very disappointing. I had so much trouble falling asleep that night because it was all I could think about. :sad2:

At least, I only have about 10 days to wait until I get another chance at seeing Peanut! At least I do know that Peanut is healthy, so I'm happy about that.

:thumbsup2

I feel like I went through the 5 stages of grief. First I was kinda in denial about the whole thing, making jokes about expecting a human. Then when I went to bed I started crying. After a while the crying and whining turned into being upset and having a fight about it in my head. Then I figured I'd bargain with my doctor to get another chance at it. And now I'm accepting it because I WILL get another chance.

I completely understand what you are saying. The private, 3D U/S sounds great! Hopefully you can schedule that soon!

Day 7 part 8 - Best Night Ever
August 17th, 2011

When I last left you we had just watched

DSC03392.jpg

and were about to head our separate ways. Ron had Star Tours FPs burning a hole in his pocket, so that's where he went.

340.jpg

He had two FPs so he was able to go on it twice in a row. Then he tried to go on Rock N Roller Coaster, but even the single-rider line was too long. So instead he went on Tower of Terror. Fun times, but nothing special.

I, on the other hand, was in for a treat. Can you guess where I was headed? First, on the way there I took this beautiful picture of the hat at sunset.

DSC03391.jpg

If you guessed the Animation building, you guessed right! Can you tell it's one of my favorite place in DHS? Love this place! What I love even more is that it was around dinner time, meaning CHARACTERPALOOZA!!!!! Between about 5 and 7pm lots of random characters come out. I got in line to meet Captain Hook, but then saw the Evil Queen (from Snow White) walk past me so I followed her instead. While waiting in line I starting chatting with this lovely mom from England. her daughter and I were meeting the characters while the dad (and I think son) were off elsewhere. They were in orlando for 5 weeks!!! I guess when coming from so far, it's best to stay longer. They were spending two weeks in Disney, but had spent 3 weeks visiting other Orlando and Florida attractions before. The mom nicely offered to take my picture for me while I visited the Evil Queen.

As I walked up to meet her, the Evil Queen said, referring to my ears "Oh my, what a lovely crown you have!"

DSC03386.jpg

I then tried to do my best impression of an ice cold face to match hers.

DSC03387.jpg

Captain Hook was still there, so I got in line to meet him. The mom & daughter from England lined up behind me, so she took my picture again for me. (There were no photopass people around).

Captain Hook was nice at first, but then after he signed his autograph he noticed my book had Tinkerbell on it. He was NOT happy about that. He refused to give me back my book, and even pretended to throw it away.

DSC03388.jpg

I felt kinda bad, but at the same time it was hilarious! At the end he gave me back my book and finally posed for a picture.

DSC03389.jpg

After those great character interactions I had a choice to make. Should I meet Goofy and his son Max, or go do a drawing class? I've never really known Max, and I knew I'd meet Goofy later on in the trip, so I passed on that. I think Stitch was also out, but I had already met him (twice!). I really did not think the drawing class would be so popular, but at 6:10pm the 6:30 class was already full! So I lined up for the 7pm class and used this sitting time to catch up on my journal.

Remember how I said earlier that I was drawing Pluto for the second time. Well, I had it wrong. In the morning I drew Pluto for the first time, and that night I drew Pluto for the second time, not only of the trip but of the day. I was disappointed at first, but this time it was from a side angle so it was okay. In fact, I had a blast!

DSC03390.jpg

I love this place (in case you didn't know that yet...) and could stay in there to draw characters all day. But it was already 7:30pm, we had 2 sets of FPs unused, and we had not even eaten dinner yet. So I texted Ron and we met up. We were close to Pixar Place, so we decided to use our TSM FPs first. We again got the super fast party of 2 line, which is awesome. We had fun, but our scores were slightly lower than that morning. Still pretty high scores though!

DSC03393.jpg

DSC03395.jpg

Our last ride of the day was Tower of Terror. And boy was it awesome! Even more awesome than before. First of all, we rock our poses and buy the picture (please excuse the squirrel face I'm making, but I love how it shows how much fun I was having. And Ron's pretend scared face is funny.)

Photo0347FourBySix.jpg

Now, what made this ride even better than usual were the people on the elevator with us. See, there was this one girl who was terrified and it was hilarious. I don't mean to make fun of her in a mean way, but she was at least late teenage years/early adult years so it's okay. She was holding on for dear life on her sister's arm, so much that her sister exclaimed "You're cutting off the blood circulation in my arm!". Another few funny lines from there were "Sorry everyone for my sister", "Why did I choose to gooooooo?" and "Everyone's laughing at you!" to which the scared sister replied "I don't care!!!". The whole elevator was laughing, especially the non-scared sister. Don't worry, the scared girl did not seem at all upset about us laughing. You can see them in the bottom left corner. It made buying this photo even more special, since we have a story related to it.

Photo0348FourBySix.jpg

So now is the time that you get the answer to the question from the quiz "Which restaurant did we try to walk up to and did we get in?" I'll give you some time to think about it...

Up Next, Where Did We Eat?

I completely understand what you are saying. The private, 3D U/S sounds great! Hopefully you can schedule that soon!

Oops, forgot to say that I've tentatively scheduled an appointment for the private U/S in about 10 days. :goodvibes I looooooove that I will get to see my Peanut move in real time in 3D.

I'm really glad that you said something to the doctor. I hope that your next US will be much more pleasant! I totally understand why you were disappointed.

What great character interactions! I'll have to take DD there next trip!

Love the ToT pic. How funny!

Awesome sauce on the report! Glad to hear that you enjoy drawing in the Art of Animation building I wish I could draw like that. For me I just can't draw for crap but I might give it a go when I go there again. I loved the interactions between The Queen from Snow White and Captain Hook here are the things I wanna do if I ever get up close to them: for the evil queen, I wanna go up to her and say to her: "I live to serve you my liege! I wish to be your huntsman and kill Snow White!" and as for Captain Hook...well let's just say it's got something to do with a little word that starts with a "C" and ends with an "ish". Looks like your baby or "Peanut" as you call it seems to getting close every day.

Hi Mel, great update - I had never heard about all the characters coming out in the early evenings at DHS.. thanks for the tip, I will remember that for this summer's trip as I think DH's niece will want to meet lots of characters! :cutie:

Glad to hear you have another ultrasound planned, the first one didn't sound very satisfying & I can imagine it must be frustrating for you and Ron still not knowing if you're having a boy or girl

Emma princess: x

That drawing class is number one on my list of things to do at DHS this trip! I have GOT to do it!!

Love the TOT story! That's the kind of thing that makes it fun...especially when you do something over and over again...

I was lurking through some TRs and saw yours! When I saw 2 weeks Disney Honeymoon, I knew it would be interesting and full of excitement! Hope you don't mind me subbing in :) Congratulations on the pregnancy, so exciting! :) :)
