Zebra Domes

Ok, I've been seeing reference to Zebra Domes recently... Can anyone tell me what they are ..or better yet post a pic.

I've gathered they can be found at AK area...restaurants and Mara -- but what are they? All I know is people love them.

Zebra Domes are found only at AKL - at BOMA or at the Mara.
They are chocolate/coffee things. Sort of chocolate mousse bites with coffee flavor to them.
I am one of the very few that were underwhelmed by them ..to me they tasted like warm, squishy, cheap chocolate. I was convinced that I would love them ( I LOVE everything chocolate and coffee)..but they were just "meh" to me. We are staying at AKL next trip and I am going to give them another try to see if I missed something.

I didn't like them at all, felt yucky in my mouth and had a weird taste. I like dense chocloate deserts and this was not what I was looking for. I ate the simba paw print brownies instead.

They are perhaps the most amazing dessert I have ever had. Seeing that picture is torture .

The center is a soft chocolate; consistency is something beteen a mousse and a truffle. There is then what I think is a white chocolate coating on the domed top with zebra dark chocolate stripes. They are made with some type of alcohol. I didn't percieve them as having much of any kind of a coffee taste. I did like them very much.

I think if you like very sweet chocolate mousses you will probably like zebra domes.

I agree with the PP and prefer the simba paw print brownies, which in my view are one of the best brownies ever! Delicious!!!

Thanks for the info...'cause honestly I had no idea what they were. We have never eaten at AK restaurants. This is going to be our first there...

These are IMO the absolute best dessert. The distinct taste is Amarula. They do get squishy fast and can melt rather quickly. Made a special trip over to AKL-Mara while at WDW just to get a tray of the Zebra Domes - sat out by the pool and inhaled these delicious treats.

We weren't at all impressed by Zebra Domes. They look wonderful, but leave much to be desired in flavor and texture. Also be aware they are prepared with alcohol for flavoring.

I believe they have them throughout the day at the Mara.

Yes, it's made with both espresso coffee and Kahlua.

Had them for the first time at Boma this past August. Drumroll please...Meh.

I was so excited to try them since others rave about them and I am a chocoholic. Yes, I admit it, I am powerless over chocolate. Alas, it was not a match made in heaven.

Now, the Chocolate Creme Brulee at CA Grill. Ecstasy!

But try for yourself you must, as with all other things in life, and not let others decide for you.

Mostly what I taste and feel texture-wise in zebra domes is the gelatin. It squicks me out. They are very, very over-rated, IMO.
