Disneyland race hiatus (again)

In case you're not following the DL race threads, rD posted this today. If you're planning Coast to Coast in 2026 and weren't going to sign up for the January race(s), time to change your plans!

I'm going to miss the Halloween race! I'm glad I'm doing it this year.

For once, Disney is going to save me money.

I was seriously considering trying for perfect status with the Halloween race weekend and that's now out the window... Hope it's less than a 7 year hiatus.

More I think about this the grumpier I get... they were just starting to get back in to the swing of things and depending on how long this break will be... they will have to relearn it all over again.

Well….looks like maybe I’ll have to snag a charity bib to DL Halloween. Still have a 3 day PH and would like to do a trip.

I'm so bummed about this. As PP said, they were just getting back into the swing of things. I guess it will save me money though. I won't be renewing my Club RunDisney w/o the Disneyland races, and I will probably go from 3-4 to 1 race a year.

I wonder when it will come back? I just start running again this year so I was hoping to go for this in a few years. It isn’t for as long as last time.

Honestly? Don't hold your breath. The reason for the shutdown is the Disneyland Forward project, which is a massive 10-year mutli-site expansion and improvement of the property in and around the existing footprint. If we're lucky, the infrastructure and transportation pieces are prioritized first and it's 5 years, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were more. Fingers crossed they don't decide to just get rid of them altogether, as it appears Paris has done.

I agree. I don’t see how they could return until Disneyland Forward is substantially complete. It’s not like WDW where there’s room to reroute - or even change the start/ finish park if they wanted to.
