You've Got a Friend in Me:TINKGURL & XOKTENOX's Adventures in WDW~UPDATE: 6/9 p.74

I was a few updates behind - what a sad moment between you two, saying your goodbyes that night! :sad1: I know how hard it is to have such a close friend so far away!

Loving all the updates - seeing some of the various pictures of DHS and MK make me want to be there RIGHT NOW - good thing I leave on Saturday. :woohoo:

Glad to hear your meal at CSR was worth that long drive!!! It's such a pretty resort, isn't it?

So cool that Space was a walk on! And I'm so glad you guys got there just after rope drop. We got to MK once just after it opened and it was awesome! I really want to do it again at both MK and Epcot.

Okay, I admitted on MeMom's report I've never been to Cosmic Rays, and I will admit on here that I have never been to Main Street bakery. I know, right? :scared1:  It's definitely one place I want to go when we go next, especially if we forego breakfast at Pop Century and save room so we can eat at the bakery, instead!

Tink-

I love be there for the rope drop.. especially afterwards and you can practically walk right up to the characters for pictures with little to no wait!

We (DH and I) also buy a picture frame during each trip to put a new picture in.. maybe someday we will have a shrine-- a wall of Disney trips!! hehe

Great view from the Plaza restaurant!! (amazing castle:goodvibes)

I'm excited to finally test out the people movers.. in all my trips I've never done it!

and how I love Frontierland!!

By the end of the week, I fall asleep that easy on the buses too!!

In all these years I've never made a rope drop  Maybe in September, since we'll have some little people getting up at the crack of dawn :goodvibes

I could ride the people mover over and over, I love it! Especially at the end of the day when my feet start screaming at me! I've never been lucky enough to see Space Mountain with the lights on, but I would love to!

What do you do, woman?!?!?

You will love seeing all the choices, but you will have a hard time narrowing it down to one. The bad thing about MSB is the seating. It's often hard to find a table. If it's pretty, go down the street and around the corner and sit out by the water like tinkgurl's family did. :thumbsup2

It is the simple pictures like this that just make me want to jump into them and be right in that spot again. I wish someone would have offered to take a picture so that Mom could be in it, too. Family, Disney food, a beautiful day, the castle as your background, hanging out, not in any hurry - that's the life! :thumbsup2 I'm betting you can 'feel' being right there again as you look at that picture.

It's true. It's pictures like this that keep me happy a little bit with the Disney blues. It was such a great morning. I wish too that someone was around to take our pic with Mom in it too.

Thanks for getting caught up!

I'm so jealous you leave on Saturday! Have fun!

CS is beautiful! Have you been to the Pepper Market?

I used to be all against Rope Drop, but now we love it!

I can't believe you've never been to Cosmic Rays OR the Main St. Bakery! Please promise me you'll get to the MK early one morning to eat a cinnamon roll next time you go!

Hey! So excited for you to be going so soon! I hope you have a good trip! Can't wait for the TR!

It's okay, we just finally made it to them over Spring Break and then got the family to them in July. So don't feel too bad! But yes, going early in the morning is great with the little ones!

We love the People Mover too! :goodvibes

:rotfl: You crack me up, MeMom!

It's true, the Main St. Bakery doesn't have very much seating, which makes me sad because I love it in there. It has that old time feel to it. But, like MeMom said, just go find "our table" looking at the Castle!

Great update! Sounds like perfect day. A little park time, a new place for lunch, some swimming, now dinner. I love those days where it is not too stressful but you feel like you accomplished a lot.

We went to CSR on our trip last November to see their Christmas decorations. The resort is so pretty, it's almost like you can't take a bad picture. Pretty cool sighting on the alligator & the turtle. We ate at the Pepper Market too, and we liked it, but we were a little confused as to how everything worked.

My favorite picture in this update is the one with the water in the back & all the tables with umbrellas. That place just makes you want to have a vacation drink, doesn't it?

I will so get there early and eat a cinnamon roll, even if I have to go solo to do it! I really want to get some un-crowded park pictures. We're going back in January sometime, and MeMom is going to be on the receiving end of my pictures, so she can probably send them on to you if you need a little Disney fix :)

Hey girls. Just wanted to tell you that I finally, FINALLY started my TR from my last trip. Hope you can come by & check it out. The link is in my signature. Thanks! :goodvibes

I just read Kristen's last day report and your MK/pepper market day togther and what a contrast! I guess the lesson here is for a really happy day...don't leave WDW! Both days were v interesting though, glad Kirsten got to see the opening ceremony DBF couldn't believe they would go to all that efoort to just welcome you before you'd even stepped into the park!

and Tink, loved a shot of all those cinammon rolls! and just as I noticed your Dooney in your papparazzi shot wanted to tell you I got one at last, bought the Princess tote online and mum brought me home the blue letter carrier, so joined the club!

It was nice to do some things we've been wanting to try! We were confused at first as well, but once we got the hang of things, it was a great meal.

I love that picture as well!

July 29, 2010 *continued*

We left off getting ready from swimming and heading to the bus stop because we had a dinner ADR at 1900 PF! We rode the bus to the MK, then hopped on the monorail to the GF. Luckily, there was a monorail in the station waiting because we had about 15-20 minutes until our ADR time. Of course, I had to take pics along the way…

We got to the GF and immediately I was happy to smell that “GF smell”. I know some of you know what I’m talking about! Haha. As we walked down the big stairs, I had flash backs from my younger years going down those same steps. It’s funny how certain places, smells, anything can take you back to a place in time. And for a moment, I wished we could go back to that time. Especially around my birthday, I always get sad at how fast I grew up, which is funny to say because I remember being in middle school and high school and wishing I was the age I am now.

As we walked through the lobby over to 1900 PF, we had to point out “Uncle Jessie’s” piano and then where Aunt Becky was standing as he sung to her from that Full House episode. I know I always mention it in every TR, but it’s something we always talk about! Haha.

When we checked in to 1900 PF, our table was ready! We were seated along a wall in the first big section as you walk in. It was great because we were right around the corner from the buffet. We warned Sis not to drop her plate this time…a few trips back, her and Fiancé were up at the buffet when all of a sudden we heard this big crash and a plate breaking. We somehow knew that it was Sis. Her and Fiancé came back to the table laughing. Evidently, she dropped her bowl of ice cream, which splattered all over Fiancé’s leg. Of course, he helped her pick everything up, and needless to say, she was embarrassed. But now, she can laugh about it.

For some reason, the only good pic that turned out of our evening was with Cinderella.

I do have in my notes that the Step-Sisters were funny as usual. This is one of our favorite meals because we have always had such good entertainment. The Step-Sisters have always been in such good character. They were fighting and yelling at each other right before they came to our table. Sis and I agreed with one of them, I can’t remember which one, after the other one left. She told us we were her favorites. Every time she walked by our section, she’d yell “Hi girls!” or “Hello my favorites!” and we’d wave and yell “Hi!” back. Haha.

Sis also got a cupcake once our waitress saw her birthday button. Fiancé and I also got one for our buttons.

momdisney215.jpg

After our meal, we headed back out into the lobby. As we were walking through, we saw the Teddy Bear Lady. Ever since I had read about her, we always make a point to find her. Now, if only I could work up the courage to say hi to her!

We headed back up the big steps to look in the gift shop and Basin. While we looked around the gift shop, I found a pretty necklace to mail Kristen for her birthday. It had a cursive ‘K’ and a little Mickey head on it. It was something perfect for her to wear on many WDW trips to come. After I bought that, we headed over to Basin, which I could spend a lot of money in! haha. There are so many different soaps that are cute or smell good.

We decided to check out the beach, so we headed back down the stairs. Before we headed out the doors, we noticed something on the floor that we hadn’t noticed before!

It was so neat seeing all those characters. We couldn’t believe we hadn’t seen or noticed that before! Then, we headed outside, where the sun was starting to set.

Here’s right outside the doors we came out of:

akdisney518.jpg

We could see a monorail was in the GF station:

akdisney517.jpg

And here was our view looking at the beach:

akdisney513.jpg

We headed down a little closer to the beach, where we enjoyed looking at the Wedding Pavilion:

momdisney218.jpg

I remember taking a pic out here and sending it to Kristen. It was still hard to believe that our trip together was over and it was almost time for us to go home as well. While we walked around, we saw a rainbow! We also saw the sign for the Resort movie nights on the beach, which would be something fun to do if you stayed there.

As we headed back inside, we saw this little guy:

momdisney221.jpg

We decided to head back to OKW and hang out. So, to the monorail we went. As we got off at the MK, the sun was almost all the way down.

akdisney535.jpg

I love seeing the boats all lit up:

akdisney534.jpg

Again, it was torture not going in to the MK! But, I knew we’d be back the next day…which was sadly, our last full day! We made our way past our stone, said hi, and headed to our bus stop.

akdisney536.jpg

As we stood in line waiting, I started to get really sad. And I knew it was going to be hard to enjoy the next day. It always is for me.

Once at OKW, we got off at the first stop and walked to the Hospitality House. We were welcomed with this sign:

akdisney540.jpg

We stopped in the gift shop to see if our packages were in yet, but they weren’t. So, we got drinks at the Gurgling Suitcase and sat outside Olivia’s. It was fun just hanging out and talking. When we were finished, we walked back to the room. While Mom, Dad, and Sis headed to bed, Fiancé and I headed outside onto our balcony. We could see that darn balloon going at DTD. We are never going to have good luck with that thing!

As we headed in to go to bed, I tried to brace myself for the next day. It was the day I was dreading before the trip even began.

Up next: Breakfast at Kona and our last full day

That is hilarious that your sister dropped her bowl- again! How funny!

You always have funny stories to tell about the stepsisters there!

I think those new floor inlays are relatively new, so it's no wonder you didn't see them. And I love that picture of you and DF!

I love that you guys warned your sis not to drop her plate again...that is exactly the kind of thing we do. Our family doesn't forget ANYTHING!

We did 1900 PF for the first time last year and loved the characters. The stepsisters told my sister and I how sorry they were that we were sisters. There was also this really cute little boy, maybe two or three, at the table next to us crying...he wasn't loud or anything, he was just upset over something. Before she got to our table, Lady Tremaine turned to the little boy, pointed at him, and said sternly, "stop crying." Then she looked crazy in the picture that she took with my sister and I, and when my mom said, "oh, beautiful" she said, very snotty, "yes, I know I am." They were so much fun! And, my friend ate there for the first time last night -- Lady Tremaine and Drizella got on her boyfriend's case b/c she doesn't have a ring, and of course, the entire room overheard and was laughing :rotfl:

I love all the characters on the floor in the GF! That is such a good picture of you and your fiancee, too.

Can't believe you are coming up to the last full day. I always try hard to enjoy the last day, but it's so hard! I start getting sad sometime during the day before the last full day, too. :sad2:

I think my family would love meeting the stepsisters, so 1900 Park Fare might have to go on the list of restaurants to consider. And the other night my wife told me she'd like to stay at the Grand Floridian someday. :faint: That reminds me, I need to buy a powerball ticket.

That is reallt pretty picture of the front of the GF. So perfect! I love the photo of you and FI in front of the wedding pavillion. :goodvibes

Funny, I noticed the floor at the GF our last trip too. It looks amazing in person and I was wondering if it was new, bt I have never stayed at GF, so pretty new to it all there. I just love all of the little Disney touches.

Sigh, the last day is the worse. It's such a bittersweet moment. You are happy to be there, but sad that it's your last day. I'm usually a bit sad for the last few days just knowing the trip is coming to an end.

You guys always have so much fun with the stepsisters.

I never noticed the characters in GF's floor before. I was last there in November and I didn't even notice, shows how observant I am  The pic of you and your fiancee is so cute- it's definitely frame worthy. :)

I just saw that floor for the first time on our trip back in November! I took a lot of pictures of it too, since I had never seen it before. It must be new for so many people to just be noticing it for the first time.

The GF is so pretty. Sigh. I have always wanted to stay there, but when I see the pictures of the rooms it makes me not want to. Maybe it's just me but they seem old fashioned and it doesn't seem to match the outside of the resort. :confused3 I don't think there is a way to take a bad beach photo at that resort.

Up next: Breakfast at Kona and our last full day

Such a sweet picture of you guys!

Breakfast at Kona??? I'm there!!! :cool1:

Last days are not so much fun, but you had had a nice long trip, so that's something to be very happy about. We only have 6 days on our upcoming summer trip, since we cut it short to come back for a wedding. It makes me very happy that Brooklynn and I will have that October trip to look forward to as we leave. :thumbsup2

Wow love that photo of you and DF! really cute!:cutie:

how cool are those tiles...I need to start looking at the floor in disney I would have missed that i think!

I got my mum anana aunt and cousin the necklace you are speaking of, it is so pretty they wore them the whole holiday! understated nut still nice and sparkly!
