You've Been There But...

I would not choose to live in:

Louisiana...lived there when I was pretty little...do not have good memories.

Mississippi...just not into that state.

California...simply because real estate is too high.

South Carolina- everyone moves way to slow down there for me...fast food is a 20 minute deal!
California-to many earthquakes
any of the tornado states-those htings scare the crap out of me!

MISSISSIPPI!!!!!! GROSS YUCK!!!!!! YUCK!!!!!! OH wait I was born and raised here, Gross!!!!! Economy is horrible, no jobs, crime is horrendous. Hate it here and counting the days until we can finally leave!

Nebraska:

I Hate the Wake Up Sober in Nebraska

Free Hot Lunch (Jeff Corning)

As you travel through this world
Many roads you will ride
Some are long, some are steep
Many will not treat you kind.
But the longest and most boring stretch is 500 miles
From Omaha Nebraska to that Colorado line

chorus:
I hate to wake up sober in Nebraska
The miles and miles of empty range
shake my sense of time.
So pass me up a cool one, light the pipe, turn up the stereo
It's still 5 hours more to Ogallala
And 300 miles to that Colorado line

From Omaha to Lincoln
Grand Island to Lexington
It's the flattest piece of highway
man or God has ever made
No trees to block the sunrise
no hills to mar the landscape
Except for liqour stores and truck stops
every mile looks just the same

chorus

Now if I had a beer for every time I drove I-80
I might get drunk enough to pack my bags
and leave tonight
But I'd probably wake up red-eyed
just the other side of Omaha
With a case of empty bottles (Point beer!)
and the sun about to rise

chorus

I've got Jack Daniels on the dashboard
in case my Jesus lets me down.

I was going to say Nebraska too! I love the song. It about sums it up (Eastern Colorado is pretty darn flat and boring too)

Alabama. Maybe it's just that we haven't been to the right place in Alabama, but I just can't think of anything good to say about it. :confused3

The one time I was in Alabama I was shocked that there were people driving cars around with no doors, no windshields etc....they would NEVER pass inspection here! and the fact that everyplace you went to eat they let people smoke in there!

I went to Georgia on business .
the area we were in was not impressive at all

Add Kansas to the list of flat and boring places. I used to live there and never will again.

Wisconsin.

There's nothing to do, and it's so freaking cold. I'd probably jump off a cliff if I lived in Door County, if any of you know where that is. :p

Wow, I guess I am pretty picky...there are quite a few states I would not want to live in:

Arizona...was there for 11 years and didn't like it
Nevada
California
Louisiana
Illinois (actually, just Chicago)
Michigan (actually, just Detroit)
New York City (I know...not a state, but it might as well should be)
Florida...I'd be too nervous about hurricanes...plus the humidity

Hey, I don't think anyone has mentioned my state!

I would not live here exceptin' I was born her.

Texas.

I have always said I wanted to move to Texas (from Belgium), and I still would like to live in Austin or DFW. But after my last vacation there, I absolutely hate the middle-of-nowhere little towns and the narrowmindedness of the people that live there, and their lack of manners.

Really.

Sorry if I offended some Texans, I know you're proud of your state, but I got so disappointed the last time I was there, it's incredible.

New Jersey, Texas

I can think of a lot of cities I would avoid living in or near-- NYC, Boston, L.A., Orlando, San Francisco, Houston, Philly

I do.

Maine. Beautiful state, absolutely gorgeous, but I found the people to be on the rude side. I also think it's rude to get an eyeroll when I order sweet tea at a restaurant.

New York... I was born and raised there and left in my 30s but will never go back to live.

California... I actually LOVE Northern California but the real estate is ridiculous.

Mostly every state EXCEPT Florida! I love Florida and plan to retire there. Why? LOTS of NYers. I don't miss NY but I miss NYers!

My 'nice place to visit but wouldn't want to live there' places:
New York City:Too Crowded
New Orleans:Smells like Pee and Liquor
Chicago: Too spread out
San Francisco:Waaaay too crowded and too many hills to climb.
Orlando:Get's really,really humid
Ft Lauderdale:Just did not like the 'whole' picture
