You're Going AGAIN?????

Whew! 14 pages later, and I'm here! :thumbsup2

Sorry to hear about the hiccups you've endured ... but what doesn't kill us makes us stronger, right?

How's Victoria doing? How was her appointment? Did you see Hop? Bunnies outside yet?

Loved your scrapbook pages. My fingers are crossed that your show will do well!

Can't wait to read more! popcorn::

How did Victoria's appointment go? Yeah, i'd like to know if you saw hop too. Me and the girls are going over thier April vacation next wednesday. It looks sooo cute.

Well, where do I start?? :confused3 As you all know, I took Victoria to the doctor’s on Friday in Bangor to check on her scoliosis. It was a beautiful day --- perfect for a ride even though there isn’t much to see riding up I-95! We got there and did the typical x-rays first, then meeting with the doctor. The good news is that the curvature has not progressed, so we will go back in 6 months again. I was pretty happy with that. Her curve is located at the very bottom of her spine, so it really has to be monitored.

After the appointment, we went to the Bangor Mall and did some shopping. Victoria went to Build a Bear and got the new Fudge Bear and dressed him up real cute! I got some wonderful deals at Macy’s for tops for myself. We had our picture taken with the Easter Bunny, so that was fun!!! I can’t seem to upload it to photobucket, though. I’ve tried 5 different times from 2 different computers. Oh well. You will just have to take my word about it --- we look adorable!!! :cutie:

I’ve started the new medicine Victoza and so far, so good. My body hasn’t rejected it and the needles for the pen are really small, so I don’t even really feel it. This Thursday they are upping to dose to see how it affects my blood sugar. The dose I’m on right now is not for medicinal purposes --- it’s just to see if my body tolerates the med. Hopefully they can increase this dosage and decrease insulin for me and I will be able to start losing weight again. Yep….I gained all the weight I had lost after my lap band surgery. Life isn’t very fair sometimes, is it? The biggest pain (literally) is testing my blood sugar more than once per day. My fingers are starting to look like pin cushions! But it’s necessary to make sure the dosages are working. You really wanted to hear all that, didn’t you?

On Saturday, Peter made great use of his new garage and was going to give my 2000 Chevy Cavalier an oil change. So, he puts it up on the lift and discovers that it won’t pass inspection. :headache: My fuel line is worn almost through, my brake lines are worn and there’s more than surface rust now underneath. Ugh!!! Now the lines could be replaced, but do we really want to put all that work and money into an 11 year old car just to have it pass for one more year?? :sad2: Nope, not really. Why not let it go now while we still can get some type of trade for it (maybe --- that’s being positive). So, depending on how everyone’s day goes today, we may be looking for a car tonight. We aren’t in any hurry --- the inspection sticker is good until the end of May, but we might as well get this done. I’m pretty sad as I love my car and have had it a long time. Victoria went from a baby car seat to actually being able to sit in the front with me, so it’s been with us for a while! I know, I know --- IT’S JUST A CAR!!! But it’s the best car I’ve ever owned! So I have a question for you guys --- does your state make you have an auto inspection every year? Maine does, but I have heard that some states don’t. I’m just curious. What kind of car are we looking at you ask? Or maybe you didn’t….I’m gonna tell you anyways…. Previously when my car was in a fender bender, I drove a rental car for one week --- a Dodge Caliber --- and I loved it, so I’m thinking this is what I want.

I’m usually a Chevy girl, though, so we were also looking at Malibus and Impalas, but I really enjoyed the Dodge. There is one at a dealership about ½ hour drive from here and this is the one we are going to see tonight. Now you are probably wondering how having car payments will affect the Disney trip, after all, IT’S ALL ABOUT DISNEY, ISN’T IT???!!! :cool1: Well, since I’m the one who has all the household bills come out of my paychecks (except for groceries) Peter states that it’s only fair if HE’S the one to make the car payment. Heck, that sounds fair to me. Seriously! I mean between the property taxes, mortgage, electric, phone, insurance, etc., he still is getting the better deal, although he did put in the shed and pool and took on those expenses himself. After being responsible for me and Victoria for so long, I have a real hard time letting him take care of us in any way, shape or form. I just don’t want him to think I am at all taking advantage of him! I’m too proud for that. We both make about the same amount of money annually, so yeah, he can afford a $300 per month car payment. I could too, if I really had to, but again, things would have to change drastically to be able to do it. So, DISNEY IS STILL ON!!! WE WILL NOT CANCEL!!! :dance3:

Peter and I took advantage of the nice day on Sunday (temps in the 50’s and sunny) and drove down to Ocean Point in Boothbay Harbor. That’s one thing I am not jealous of you about Karen & Hope ---- you may have warmer temps but I can drive ½ hour and be at the ocean. I just can’t imagine not being close to an ocean, so I couldn’t live in the middle of the country. Now Florida would be good ---- go East or West and bam, you hit an ocean!! Besides, you guys are susceptible to tornadoes……in Maine we get maybe 2 tornadoes per summer and they don’t even make the grading scales!! They may knock a few trees down, but that’s it. It was so beautiful. I just love the smell of the ocean, the sound of the waves, and the feeling of the breeze on my face. If ever I won the lottery, I would buy property right on the ocean. It’s a little sad this year as most of the homes are boarded up since it’s not summer yet. It seems only the out of staters are able to afford ocean front property!! I’m just jealous!! OH, and I had a chance to use my new camera. I really like the quality of the pics. I think the more I play with it, the more I am going to love it!!!

Victoria had a friend over on Sunday and they didn’t want to go for a ride so we left them home. As we approached ½ mile from home we see the two of them sitting on the big rocks talking. I swear it was 20 minutes before they noticed we were just parked there watching them. Too funny!!!

Picture014.jpg

Yes my rabbits are outside in their houses. I even set up the chicken wire fencing so they have an outdoor play area. I tell you it was so nice to be able to clean up that corner of my kitchen. There’s so much space now and I don’t have fur flying when I open the sliding glass door. We could actually eat at the kitchen table if we chose to! Yeah, don’t see that happening any time soon.

At noontime today, I got a call from the school asking me to come pick up Victoria. She’s sick again. Ugh! I don’t know….As a mom I get so frustrated as I think it’s more emotional than physical, but there’s nothing more I can do for her. She even told me she got to talk with her counselor today, so I just don’t get it. She knows to pick up her homework before she leaves so at least we can keep up with her assignments. And it’s not like she’s not at the doctor’s enough! I’m sure if it were anything physical, it would have been detected by now. Now that my mom is back from Florida, she and Victoria are going to have a date night on Wednesdays. They are going out to eat and then whatever. This week they are going shopping. I’m glad she’s back home to help me with Victoria. I just think that I am burned out with all the doctors, etc. I think this once per week date night will be good for both her and my Mom. My mom misses Victoria a lot as she used to be able to walk to my Mom’s afterschool when she went to elementary school. That was 7 years of her life (including kindergarten)!

Boy, did I get long winded today… Rant, rant rant……blah, blah blah…. Do I still have any readers??? :rolleyes1

Shew! I love big updates! :goodvibes

I'm so glad there's no change for the worse in her spine...I don't think you said if you liked HOP?

New car with no payments? Sounds like a deal to me!!! Can't wait to hear what you choose!!!

You are so right, we may have spring a little before you, but you are SO lucky to live so close to the beach! I LOVE the beach and wish wish wish we could live closer to one! :lovestruc

Hey Ann! I'm finishe pouting and back on the Dis. All caught up I think.

I'm so glad your supervisor was understanding about Victoria being at your job. That must have been so stressful! Bummer about the taxes too. :(

You better be careful pushing Karen's buttons. She's the Godmother of the Mouse Mafia ya know and she might send one of her lackey's after you. :lmao:

I'm glad you are now done pouting, Hope. I've missed hearing from you, but I understand how it is.....At least you now have your new ptr going, right?? I've got to go sub soon!!! ;)

I hope everything went well at the appointment. Did you see Hop?

No, unfortunately we didn't have time to go see Hop. The good news is that we had such a fun day shopping!!! :yay:

Still mad at me about my weather Ann???? It's not MY fault that it's sunny and 80 here today!

No, Karen. Don't be silly. I am not mad, nor was I ever mad at you.....well, unless you have Mother Nature on speed dial and have been doing this purposely....then, we'd have to talk!!!

Hey, have you stayed at any Deluxes?? Hope & I need input on our PTR for 2013!!!
Feb 2013 PTR

Sorry, girls. I can't help you on that one. This last year at POR was our first time EVER on property. But, if I could EVER afford it, I would love to stay at Poly!!! :cloud9:

Whew! 14 pages later, and I'm here! :thumbsup2

Oh, thanks for coming on over!!! I can get to ranting on and on myself, so just be patient (or skip alot!!!) :welcome: My previous post will answer some of your questions. Thanks for the compliment on my scrapbook pages. I love to do it! And thank you for the good thoughts on the show. I'm hoping!!! I really need to start having more customers than I do now.

How did Victoria's appointment go? Yeah, i'd like to know if you saw hop too. Me and the girls are going over thier April vacation next wednesday. It looks sooo cute.

Nope, never did get to see Hop. Hopefully soon, but not sure when...... :rolleyes1

I agree with you Ann- I'd love to be close to the beach! :lovestruc

I feel your pain with the struggles to lose weight while also dealing with blood sugar issues. All the info says the best way to get BG under control is to lose weight but when it's high it's nearly impossible to lose weight. And lately I've been sticking my fingers about 10 times a day (upon waking, before each meal, and then at 1 and 2 hours after eating). I'm starting to get a handle on how my body reacts to certain foods so if its something I know won't affect my BG levels I don't test (mostly because test strips are so dang expensive). So, yeah I feel your literal pain too.

Love the Dodge Caliber, we actually test drove one when we bought our current car (price and gas mileage pushed the Vibe over the edge but the Caliber was a close second).

I'm glad Victoria's curvature isn't getting worse. As for the sickness- I went through a similar thing at her age when I just didn't want to be at school and made myself sick to get out of it- I didn't realize that's what I was doing or why at the time. I was just so stressed about having to go somewhere that I was so unhappy that it made me sick. Hang in there and know that this won't last forever.

It definitely sounds like you need a new car, but I definitely understand your nostalgia with it!
Oh, I love being close to the ocean. I went to college in Rhode Island and could literally see the ocean from my house junior and senior year-- loved being a 30 second walk from the beach.
Your bunnies are too cute! Adorable-- I'm sure they love being outside now!!
Sorry the issues with Victoria might be psychological-- if that's the case, I'm sure nights with your mom will be really good for her.

Oh I haven't been on facebook lately! All right for the car. Isn't it soo exciting to have a new one! Good luck with it. I'm sure you'll LOVE it. Glad to hear Victoria's appointment went well. And glad to hear your medicine is doing good so far. LOVE the pics of the ocean, can't wait to go when it's warmer. The bunnies are adorable. We had bunnies when I was younger. SO CUTE!

Hope you're having a nice day! Hope Victoria feels better!

Well, she gets a new car and she forgets all about us! She must be busy joyriding! :car:

:rotfl: Just kidding, Ann! It's just that it's been kinda quiet over here for a few days. Any Avon updates to give us? Any scrapbook pages to share? I know I'm not one to talk. I haven't done much on the PTR front recently myself :rolleyes1

So, yes it is true that I'm enjoying my "new to me" car --- it's a 2010 with 17,000 miles---- I haven't forgotten about my Disfriends!! I've been lurking....Erin, I saw your $1 deals of princess stuff!! Very cool!! I've seen how awesome Hope and Karen's Tangled day was..... I've been on other ptr's just not commenting. I don't really have any Disney updates.....

Oh, ok, here's one. My coworker Dan just got back from Disney Paris. Would you believe he didn't bring in pics?? :scared1: He states he'll bring some in tomorrow.

I'm working on Victoria's Daycare Days scrapbook now. Her old daycare provider used to give the parents pics of what they did throughout the year every Christmas. So, I'm working with years 2003 through 2005. Fun Fun!!!

Ok, maybe lurking is not the word.......oh, but I did "borrow" this really awesome pic from another ptr....
