Your pet's "given" name vs nickname

Calypso goes by Caly, Laly, Lulu, Bear-Bear, and fuzz head.

Cleopatra goes by Cleo, Leo, Lili, and Bear.

Maggie is called Maggie Moo or just Moo Moo or Moo (she was called Maggie Moo before the ice cream place came around!)

We also call her Pupperoni or Pupperonibread.... don't ask where this came from but she answers to them all!!!

I have three cats

Alexis is the oldest and when I found her she needed to be bottle fed so when she started to put weight on she looked like a meatball with toothpicks for legs so she has the nickname of Meatball..

Sunny's nickname is Handsome, hannum, handsome boy, orange handsome boy, hanny handsome, mamas handsome boy...can you tell I think he is a handsome boy!!!

Belle's nicknames are gray girl, tutti girl, pooter, pooter tooter, and crazy girl!!

Both our dogs have given names and tons of nick names. We mostly use the nick names unless they are in trouble - kinda like the kids!:lmao:

Maggie is maggie moo, moo cow, magga mush, smootchy mootchy...

Sampson is Sammy, Sammy whammy

Of course they also have voices that we give them.:rotfl2:

OMG! Us too  Her full name is Maggie Moo. So funny.

What kinda dog is she? Our Maggie is a French Mastiff.

We have 2 cats, Meeko and Figaro.

Meeko's nicknames are Meekie Moo, Moo, Meeks, Mooie Lou, and baby kitty cause she's so small, even though she is 15
Figaro's are Figs, Figaroo, Figaroonie, and some other not so nice names when he does annoying things (which is often!) :lmao:

Our Kittys are
Artemus Gordon - He's usually Artemus unless he's "playing" with the foster kittens then he's JabberWoky. He's a 14 lb Bengal

Nessie- She's our little blue & white Angora and our only girl DH Calls her Furball but I call her Nessie-Bessie, Pincess, or Princess Diva if she's really being bad.princess:
She's much smmaller than her bothers but dosen't take anything off them !

Rudy- My crazy Flame point Siamese - "Rudi Tutti Fresh and Fruity" You have to say it fast and in a high voice :lmao: Or sometimes just Fruity Boy

Then there's Sam-Norris - He came from the rescue as Sam, since he's a Maine Koon I wanted to name him Mrs Norris but he's a boy thus Norris. We had a hard time tansitioning, as we had known him as Sam for a few months before we adopted him. MIL was visiting right after we brought him home and started calling him Sam-Norris. It stuck and he's so regal and handsome he dosen't have a nickname.

The boys often get called Buddy, or Handsome man.

We have Annie (as in little Einsteins, DS got her for his 4th birthday), a boxer mix...She is generally AnnieRoo, Roo, D.A.D. (as in dumb @$$ dog), girle-girl or getoutadatrash.

My previous dog, Bailey, a lhasa-schnauzer mix became Sylvester as he got older because I could visualize him walking around in suspenders and a fedora looking like a little old man if he was human.

OMG! Us too  Her full name is Maggie Moo. So funny.

What kinda dog is she? Our Maggie is a French Mastiff.

That is too funny! Maggie is a collie... she is an old girl - 14 1/2 and the sweetest doggie in the world!

Sophie - yellow lab - Soph, Monser Head, Head, Mommy's Girl
Jasper - Maltese - Jazz, Yazz, Yazzer Wazzer, YaYa, Demon, Devil, Jazzy
Benji - Maltese - Ben, Benner, Benny, Benner Wenner, Piggy
Banks - Cockapoo - BeeBee, Baby, Monkey

Poor babies, I'm sure they all have identity complexes. LOL!

I like this tread!
My black lab (RIP) was named Othello, I also called him rat, he loved going through the garbage.
My chocolate lab is called Manu, I call him Satan (he WAS EVIL as a puppy, ate every single one of the persian rugs)... we still love him.

My little beagle mix rescue is named Mr. Bean, but we call him Beanie for short (unless, of course, we've been bad - then he insists we call him by his full proper name). ;)

We have 2 cats..Jefe (pronounced like Jeff in Spanish) and Keith. we call them Heffer and Keefer LOL

Houdini - Mr. Man, Houdini-man, Hey!, Baby-- he's soooo my baby. He also lives up to his given name.

Nubbins- Was originally named Curly. She responses to (The t word for pooh) cat, Hey stupid, Nubz, and Deli meats. She's a rotten cat. She actually stomped on my toe and broke it (she still has her home, and still gets her fave treat-salami).

I mostly ruin my dogs' names, the cats just get theirs adulterated. Leonard the cat is called, "Len Len" or Vinny is called "Vinster".

The dogs are Gryffendor who has become "Wiffle Pig" I know...what is that? He is a very attractive 145 lb Irish Wolfhound.

And Gilligan, the corgi, is either Giligami or "Squillie".

I have a solid black cat who's name is Rocky but I call him squeak. When he meows it sounds like he is squeaking. I went to yell at him the other day because he was in trouble and I couldn't remember his real name. The other cat that we have is a grey and white tom cat so he got named Tom. I know real original. He gets called TomTom and Thomas. The dogs name is Tippy and she gets called Doodle or Doodle Bug. She was my Mom's dog and I took her in after my Mom died. But I also call my youngest child who is 11 Doodle Bug. Sometimes they get confused on who I am talking to. But in my defense my daughter was called Doodle Bug first.

Our 100lb German Shepard's name is Delgado: his nick names are: Del Del, do do- sounds like do do bird, Chaos-which is actually part of his name, but i only call him that if he is bad lol.

Our 8lb Cat:Nubbs, because the rescue named him that for his nubby tail. His nick names: kitty boo(which I have no idea where we got that from) little man, little bro bro-because he loves his big dog brother.

DD's 2 dumbo rats: Tom and Jerry-yes really she named them that. Tom is also known as pee pot. and Tom is a junior, but there was no senior, lol.

We have two geriatric cats, Sophie and Sam. They are my precious babies!

Sophie gets called SophSoph, Sophers McSopherson, Stouffers, Smophie, Pretty Girl...among other random names.

Sam has earned the name Stinky Boy, as well as Sammers, Samma Bamma, Chubs Chubberson and Samuel L. Jackson.

We haven't had a lot of pets.

We had a Samoyed for 13 years that we got from another family because she kept killing the chickens. She was registered and had like 4 or 5 names. The only 2 I remember are Pineholmes Shebob. We called her Shebob.

We had a black cat named Familiar (as in Witches Familiar) shortened to Fam.

We now have a cat named KC. We got her when DD13 was a toddler and she named her Kitty Cat. When DH took her to the vet for the first time he asked me what he should tell the vet the cats name was...I said Kitty Cat...He said "I am not walking in there and telling them her name is Kitty Cat" So we shortened it to KC and it's stuck for the last 10 years.

The funniest one has to be Gus. He was Gus when we got him so we seen no reason to change it. Gus had issues with going to the bathroom where he was supposed to an no amount of training fixed it. I have insomnia so I'm up at all hours of the night. I see no reason to turn on all the lights which means that more than once I'd walk into a dark room and step into a pile or puddle.

The first words out of my mouth would be Son of a *****!! Then I'd call the dog over, say bad dog and put him outside. Well I guess that dog heard that enough times that he thought it was his name.

I have to say it's my go to swear word. I stub my toe..I say it. I shut my hand in the dishwasher..I say it ((and yes I've shut my hand in the dishwasher)) Anyways lots of times were had to utter that phrase. And each and every time Gus would come running wagging his tail.

We have a dog named Koda (given name) his nicknames are Chewie (because when he has a toy in his mouth he talks and he sounds like Chewbacca, Low-Rider because his belly is so low to the ground and gets full of snowballs in the winter and Baby, well because he is the baby of the house...

Our other dog is Lady, who I call Lady Jane when she is being naughty...;)

Our cats: Fluffy (given name) aka as fluffer, fluffernutter, the fluff monster, my girl
Spaz (gn) aka Spazzie, Spazaroni Macaroni, Fat Boy
Ballou (gn) aka Tubbo, Mr. Jealous
