Your pet's "given" name vs nickname

2 cats:

Original Name: Sheba, given names; the queen, miss thing, precious

Original Name: MouseTrap, given names: babies, fatcat:lmao::lmao:

My 17-year-old cocker spaniel has had numerous nicknames over the years. Her name is Tara, but most recently, we've been calling her Munchkinhead, Dollface, Poopsicle, and Little Darling.

Paper Name: (Breeder Name) Paris Hairless Hilton. We call her Paris Hairless.

Paper Name: (Breeder Name) Anakin Skywalker Cloudbuster's Joy or some such nonsense. We call him Andy.

We have 2 cats - they have their own names, but we call both of them Kitty. They don't respond to their real names or Kitty... they either don't care of choose to ignore us.

The rest of the crew we have every nickname under the sun for... the dogs will respond to pretty much anything!

our basset hound's registered name is McCoy's Darth Vader (because you know, basset hounds are SO vicious and intimidating :rotfl: ) but we just call him vader. i also call him baby boy or baby dog, and sometimes baby hound dog, even though he's 7 years old.

My dog's name is Jasmine.
I call her Jazz, Jazzy, Jasmina, Wazz, Wazzer, Wazmina,

My cats are Koshka (means cat in Russian) and Chernyy (black in Russian). Koshka is often called Koshie-ka, Koshiecat, and Kiska, which is not a very nice Russian word. Chernyy is Space Cadet, Yuri, Neenee (baby calls him that), babycat, and furface.

My knuckle-heads have nick-names like.....C'mereDayummit. WhaDidUDue and JesusChrist!

Bahahahha, the second one I have to use, and you should see the puppy dog eyes I get from that one! I probably say that more than her name, so maybe I should change it! Another one I say is Youknowbetterthanthat!

Our black lab's official name is Indiana Jones. (my boys named him) We call him Indie.

You do know that Indiana Jones was named after the dog by his dad in the movie, right?? LOL
Full circle. ;)

I'm loving reading how all these names have evolved. They mostly come from the original name and morph into something silly sounding! I can't believe how many people do this! :rotfl:

Oh, I told you guys I call my dog Pepperoni sometimes. I also sing to her "Pepperoni, the San Francisco treat". I guess it came from Rice A Roni sounded like pepperoni. It's just something I started doing one day without realizing it.

Keep em coming!

I have 4 cats

Smudge- Black Nose is his most common nick name. Sometimes He's crazyface

Sam - Heavy baby- He weighs 26lbs. He's HUGE, not fat, rather just a gigantic cat!

Runt- White Faced baby. His face is mostly white. Duh

Sam and Runt are brothers

Stella- Little Stupid abbreviated to lil stoop most of the time. Fudge round is her most recent. We got her spayed in January and she's gained some weight. Much like her momma(me) it's all in her belly area. She's a beautiful dark dark dark chocolate brown/ mahogany color. She looks black at first glance, then when she's next to something black- it's apparent she's brown.

Stella has cerebellar hypoplasia, which causes jerky movements, tremors and generally uncoordinated motion. The animal often falls down and has trouble walking. If you'd like to see an example look up "Charlie the cat" on YouTube. Charlie has an extreme case of CH. Little Stoop's CH is no where near as bad as Charlie's. She high steps like a pony when she walks, because her depth perception is off. She also looks hilarious when she jumps off of something, like the bed or the couch. She doesn't kind of slink down like more cats, no, no. She pretty much swan dives out as far as she can. Many times jumping in to the wall. She's a perfectly healthy cat, she will not get any worse, but she won't get any better either. We found her walking down some railroad tracks by the Mr.'s job site. Whomever had her saw she walked funny and "disposed" of the clumsy thing. When I saw her, I feel in LOVE instantly. She'll be 1 in September. She HATES to be picked up and placed in your lap. Unless it's her idea to get in your lap, then its OK.
She got the name little stupid because she'd come up to me on the couch and meow for me to pay her some attention, so I reached down to pet her and she ran away. We did this rotation about 3 times before I exclaimed "Well, come here you little stupid" and the Mr. heard me from the other room and thought it was the funniest thing ever. She's been little stupid ever since.

My knuckle-heads have nick-names like.....C'mereDayummit. WhaDidUDue and JesusChrist!

:lmao:

We adopted two kitties from the Humane society after our darling little Meeko went to the Rainbow Bridge in 2009.

The names they were given we kept, which we usually don't but it fit them so well.

The boy's name is Chewbacca, and we call him Chewy or TuTu.

The girl's name is Button, and we call her Butt Butt.

The funny part is they are USUALLY calling mischief together so we call them
CHEW BUTT OR BUTT CHEW!!!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

My cats name is Isabelle, but her nicknames are Izzy, Fluffy, Boo, and Fatty.

My sister's cat is named Sam, and he has a lot of nick-names- Sammy, Sammy Tiger, Tiger Baby, Baby Boy...there's moer, I jsut can't think of them right now.

My sister's dog is named Charlie, and he usually gets called Charlie, but sometimes gets called Char or CharChar.

Lets see:

Domino was often called Dom.

Natasha was often called Tasha.

Kozy was often called Kozy-Kat and Kozy-Wozy.

Krystal - while it's not a name, if she hears us ask where is our long haired white pot bellied pig, she will come running and lay at our feet with her belly up in the air.

Mouse - Sir Mouse-A-Lot (has his own version of Baby got Back), Mousealicious (also has his own version of Fergalicious), Moose, Cuban Pete (it fits him).

Grunt - Gruntious Maximus, Walrus goo goo g'joob, and when he is looking at us over the babygate and all you see is his head and two paws, he gets called Kilroy.

I have sort of the opposite--when confronted by a vet or official, I give out initials for my cat (H.K.)

His name is Homeless Kitty. It started out as "Hey, could someone go feed that homeless cat? He's meowing at the door again." Somehow it turned into my very special, precious Homeless Kiiiiiiittty. I love him to death, but to my ears it sounds bad to call him Homeless Kitty at the vets office. I suppose we should have come up with a real name, but it seems too late and awkward for that (it's been a year).

Aspen (husky mix) - Big Boy 50 lbs

Kahlua (pointer mix) - Baby Boy 80 lbs

Aspen is big boy because he is half a year older then Kahlua.

I have four bunnies. One is named Willow, but he's so soft and cuddley that we call him Willow Pillow, or just Pillow. Another one is named Beaumont. That's an awfully sophisticated name for such a little dude so his nickname is Beau Beau.

My dog's name is Sunny. I call her Puppy and when she's bad her name is Dog. :lmao: It sometimes takes her a few minutes to respond to Sunny but she pays attention right quick to Puppy.

Well, we have a Jasmine also, which morphed into Beanie ( Jasmine to Jazz to JazzBeans at Easter, then just Beanie ). She answers to that and to Little Bit. The other day I was shocked when I said Jasmine and she looked up. Hasn't done that for about 10 years.

Now on the other hand we have Emily who...um...ahem... matured into Jake. Should be easy, one syllable name right? True confessions Jake-l-fritz works just as well.
