I have been lucky enough to visit WDW several times over the years (now over the decades). I have discovered that while I enjoy all the Parks and the various Disney Resorts there is a special location and time that makes my WDW visit complete. For me it is walking around World Showcase in the Germany/Italy/America/Japan area just after dark and just before Illuminations begins. For whatever reason that is my magical time at WDW. Just wondering, anybody else have those special places or moements that make a Disney vacation special?

I have once reported this and here it goes..... While on Splash Mountain,,, My DH was in attendance with us (huge surprise).. and it hit me like a lightening bolt!!! "We were in WDW together!"

Without a doubt one of my most magical, favorite moment while I am there is walking to the foodcourt early in the a.m. to get coffee. The sun is rising and starting to shine over the Sassagoula River at Port Orleans and you can smell the Magnolias growing on thetrees and you can smell the breakfast smells coming from the food court. The only ones awake seem to be me the ducks. Its the most peaceful, serene part of my day and I treasure it.

Walking around World Showcase right before Illuminations is very magical and REALLY lets me know that i'm in Disney.

it's a Magical experience. The most magical would have to be when my FDH proposed to me on an Iluminations cruise last Oct :love2: . Also when we are standing on MainStreet watching Wishes and he has his arms wrapped around me makes me feel warm and squishy   !!

I would say mine was when my DH proposed to me at Pleasure Island.... April Fools day 1991....

BUT>>> It really was in October of 2000, our first night of our family vacation with my two kids who were 5 and 2 at the time. We drove to the Poly, and sat at the beach. It was so quiet and peaceful. DH rested on a hammock, the kids played in the sand.....
with the castle ahead of us, the electric water parade, and then the fireworks... it was perfect. It really set the tone we were in Disney - the kids were so excited and it was a nice moment just as a family. :earsboy:

I was walking down Mainstreet and suddenly it hit me "I'm REALLY here!"

early morning walking outside the front of the Wilderness Lodge Villas on the walkway to the Lodge
hearing those frogs/crickets/etc

wow! that was cool - cant wait till August! :Pinkbounc

Two years ago DD was 2-1/2 and on our first trip. We took the boat from WL to MK. Just as the boat turned a corner the castle came into view and she said "Look, there's my castle!"

I get choked up even thinking about it now.

I went to WDW several times as a teenager.

In January DH and I took DS8. Neither of them had ever been before. DS was sick the day before we left and we were worried that he would be sick for the trip.

Miraculously he was fine the day we left. When we got to Orlando we checked in at Pop, had lunch, and went to MK. While on BTMRR DS was laughing and he shouted "This is the best day of my life!" It was perfect. :cloud9:

For our family, without a doubt our most magical place is MGM Studios. We can't wait to go see our friends when we get there. :goodvibes

For our family, anywhere in WS where we can watch Illuminations. The feeling can't be described.

i would say when i was watching wishes with my df, my first visit to dw and i was so excited to be there i totally missed tink coming down the wire!!!

That first morning you wake up at a WDW hotel always seems the most magical. You've already got a partial first day under your belt, but nothing beats that start of a vacation freshness that comes with waking up and actually being at the destination you have been dreaming about forever and realizing you still have your entire trip in front of you.

The first time we did Cinderela's Royal Table "Once Upon a Time" character breakfast with my 8 year old daughter and seeing the look of pure delight on her face. These moments make it all worthwhile.

I love to sit at one of the tables outside the bakery in France at Epcot, sipping a glass of wine or enjoying a pastry. It makes me feel like I am actually in France.

For me it was arriving at the MK with my husband on his first trip to WDW. It was five years ago and I still remember the look on his face!!!!!!!!! :love2:

Do I have to pick just one? There have been so many magical moments. I could mention when I was in 7th grade and went to Disney on a Band trip when we came in 2nd overall and was the smallest band there. I could mention taking my DW on her first trip to Disney during the 25th Birthday celebration and seeing her expression seeing the Castle as a birthday cake. I could also mention taking my kids on their first trip when we did a character breakfast and lunch for the first time or just when they saw Mickey up close. That's priceless!!!!!! But possibly the most memorable thing that I actually captured on film was last September when we went to WDW with my Dad and Mom. We were walking down Main Street and my Dad turned around and made a funny pose with the Castle as the backdrop. I showed that picture to a Disney employee and he said that person needs to be in a Disney commercial. I won't ever forget that.

The anticipation during the bus ride on your first park day. Knowing that in minutes you will actually be in the MK (or AK, EPCOT, or MGM). :goodvibes

Seeing the look on my Fiance's face as we walked into the Magic Kingdom. It was his very first trip to WDW and I will never forget seeing his eyes light up the way they did. :goodvibes
