Your most magical interaction with a face character?

We had the good fortune at our last visit to Cindy's Royal Table to be seated near the point at which the princesses left the room in their rotation. So if they had gone a little quickly, they were in no hurry to bolt. My son and daughter were in their early 20s on this trip and really got a kick out of interacting with the face characters who are all pretty much in their age group.

But we got the most delightful visit from Ariel that night. She struck the perfect balance of fun and Disney-flirty with my son and he was absolutely blushing crimson when she walked away. My daughter teased him the whole rest of the trip ... just great.

I have to say that every character interaction I've had has been great, but there was something that really freaked me out last May.

My mom and I had breakfast at Akershus a few days into our trip. I had done drawings of all the Disney characters and had them sign the drawings as my souvenir. During the breakfast we had Ariel sign a drawing and took a picture with her.

A few days later, I went to the Magic Kingdom alone at night (mom stayed at the hotel as she wasn't feeling good). I had my drawing book with me and had an extra Ariel drawing, so I waited in line to meet her. As I walked up, she asked me if I had another drawing for her. She said she remembered me from the breakfast a few days before when I had my mom with me. I figured it must be the same Ariel as we had met.

Once I got home and started doing my trip report, I looked through the pictures and the Ariel at Akershus was NOT the same Ariel as the Magic Kingdom (nor the same as any of the other princesses we met). I have no idea how she knew me, but it was definitely a magical surprise (after the fact) lol :D

What are you talking about? There's only one Ariel, she had to have been the same ;)

Funny enough ours was Push the trash can in AK.... I don't think he's even around anymore, and not sure if he qualifies. But we were walking back from the Safari train and I hear someone calling my daughter over and over (and she's got a unique name so it wasn't like a bunch of heads turned). The crowd opened and this yellow trash can starts zooming up to her yelling HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOGAN!!! Which was priceless as it really WAS her 9th birthday, since we all know that birthday button gets worn every day during birthday "week" She just loved that a character sought her out special.

She also had the opportunity to ride the teacups with Tweedle Dee all by herself when she was smaller, and a great interaction once with Captain Hook and Smee where they attempted to pilfer her pin lanyard.

Mine is Beast at the BOG. When we went for dinner recently my daughter was dressed as Belle. When we went into his study he bowed to her immediately and started dancing around the room with her. Simply fantastic.

minnie2.jpg Minnie- with my 2 yr old grandson. My daughter had taught him how to kiss a lady's hand thinking it would be cute in pics at WDW with the princesses. He was meeting Minnie and without any prompting, as soon as he walked up, he grabbed her hand and kissed it. I thought Minnie was going to faint. She hugged him and kept shaking her head no every time we tried to leave. The pic of her reaction is my avatar.

What night was that? I know it probably happens quite often but we were in line to meet him last week when a father had his daughter in there dancing with him, she was all done up in her belle dress and hair done... I had tears in my eyes, as did the father from what I could tell. :)

Ours was the stepsisters. We knew going in that they are usually pretty funny, but they took a liking to my dd when she said that Disney really needed to make merchandise with their faces on it. LOL!!! Every time they passed the table after that they made a gesture to her and asked if they were still on the same page. lol

I want to hear about everyone's most magical interaction with a face character :-)

Could be a princess, or a villain, or anyone! I just want to know who it was with and why it was so magical :-)

The one that always comes to mind is when my son was 13, he thought he was too old to meet characters but his sister was younger and wanted to meet them.
So we went up to Mulan in Epcot and he sat on a nearby bench. After having fun with my daughter and getting pictures, there was still no line so Mulan went over to my son who was looking through the pictures he'd taken with his camera. She perched on the arm of the chair, talked to him and looked through the pictures with him.

He said later that it was pretty cool.

Several great interactions over the years:

DD and Alice, she was dressed like her and Alice enjoyed visiting with her.
AT 1900 Fare, she got to dance with Prince Charming
My son got to interact with PUSH and enjoyed that.
Disney is so much fun!!

Not a face character, but I took my friend, her 11 year old son and my son who was the same age. My friend's boy uses a wheelchair and is obviously disabled, and both boys were Star Wars freaks. The ride at MGM was new so we weren't prepared that there would even be characters associated with it.

It was hard to strap DS's friend into the ride, so they let the boys ride as many times as they wanted. (Which was 4 times. I lasted three times before I wobbled my way out!)

When we exited the ride, there was Chewbacca! (And a big line.) As we started to walk and roll by, Chewbacca's handler saw us, swooped her arms around the boys, and corralled them to the head of the line, saying "Chewbacca, I'd like you to meet some very special friends of yours!" Of course, Chewbacca hugged them and though both boys generally thought they were above meeting characters, you can bet they hugged right back. CHEWBACCA!

A sweet memory of Disney going the extra mile for a disabled child and his friend.

My sister and I were at 1900 Park Fare for breakfast on our first trip and my sister was wearing a Alice (her favorite character) pin she had made out of ribbon. When Alice came over to our table she screamed "It's me! It's me!" and started jumping up and down while pointing at the pin. Best character interaction ever.

ahhhhh the disney magic is too much for me I'm going to burst into tears

This is making me wish I had ever been taken to DW when I was a kid--parents took me to DL when I was like 2 but I literally don't remember a thing. Like, I love DW now but I am obviously a bit jaded at this point and I am kind of sad that I'm never going to have that moment of pure magic that some of your kids have been lucky enough to experience. (And no, kids are not on the horizon for me at all.) (And yes I am jealous of all of your children because I am a well-adjusted adult lol.)

Anyway. YAY DISNEY.

I had a fun, week long solo trip this past Sept/Oct for ToT weekend. I decided to buy an authograph book and do the characters. I had a BLAST.
During MNSSHP - Snow White was happy that I had a cape like hers (I was dressed as SuperGirl!) and then proceeded to hide behind a pilar and whip the cape overherself to "hide."
Gaston is a BLAST, he is just so himself. I had a left a spot at the front of the book for him and when he pages through the book he offers to put his signature on all of my other autographs. He then proceeds to give me some pointers on how to feed him with 12 dozen eggs. LOL!! Merida was GREAT, I asked her for archery lessons and she taught me the proper stance and such. I told Rapunzzle that I nearly got my cape caught on Big Thunder and she says that she is not allowed to ride because her hair would have to be draped over all of the train cars. Aladdin and I went in search of Abu.

There are many more character stories from that trip. I find, even if you are an adult that if you interact with the character with something out of 'normal' questions, you tend to get fun interactions. My only meh experience was with Tink once who seemed a little annoyed to take a picture with an Adult. LOL!

My favorite is with Mary Poppins in EPCOT. I asked her, since she is practically perfect what imperfection she has.

She looked at me and replied, "A practically perfect person would never admit to an imperfection."

Aw, you don't need to be a kid to have magical character interactions!

This is a picture of me, from a few years ago. I'd just bought myself a Duffy bear and was having fun teasing my teenagers with it. When I saw Duffy in his Christmas outfit, I said I wanted to get my picture with him and went and lined up with the wee kiddies. I was feeling a bit self conscious, but hey... what happens in Disney, stays in Disney! (Disney is also the only place I've ever tried to dance, or sing, in public, which is probably for the best). My family teased me a bit while we waited, and the parents of the toddlers around me tried to say nice things to make me feel less embarrassed... which didn't really work. Then I got up to Duffy and I was planning to just get my husband to take a quick pic of us and run. But Duffy started gesturing to me to kiss him on the nose, and he was really insistent, so I did, and the next thing I knew, I'd been swept into a huge bear hug. He was amazing! I completely forgot how embarrassed I'd been... it was like for a moment I was a little kid, having my favourite bear come to life. Even my family all commented that he was the best character we'd met all trip.

I did the Macarena with Mickey Mouse once! My friend and I were entertaining ourselves in line by just randomly dancing, and I guess Mickey saw us because when it was our turn he started dancing too. It was super cute!
