Your most magical interaction with a face character?

We had lunch at CRT and the princesses said they had to leave for the parade. When we finished our meal and left along the side of the castle, we came upon the parade. When Ariel went by on the float she was looking at us and waving like crazy. She remembered us from the restaurant.

That same day the kids had visited BBB and my grandson was dressed as a knight. When we visited with the Tremaine's, Drizella told him that he needed to rescue her and had him so her his sword moves. She then said she needed to thank him and planted a nice kiss on his cheek.

Meeting Chewbacca, my most favorite character of all time next to Ursula. I actually cried a bit. It was amazing.

Last year 1900 Park Fare Breakfast. My DD4 was so excited to meet Mary Poppins she could barely stand it. My husband and I were sitting with our backs to the door where the characters enter/exit...all of a sudden my daughter's face lights up so much that people were commenting for a good 15 mins after...but SURPRISE it was not Mary Poppins it was Winnie the Pooh!! He proceeded to continually stop by just to say hi to her!

Of course, when Mary finally came by my mom and my DD were beside themselves - but Winnie was priceless since it was unexpected. We all talk about that bfast still and of course we have to go back this year for her 5th birthday! :-)

Our first ever trip to Disney anywhere was to Disneyland when DS was three. He was absolutely, insanely in love with Stitch. We spent five days trying to meet him. Back then, there were no scheduled meet and greets it was catch as catch can. On our last day there we spotted him and waited patiently on line for quite a while and just as it was our turn his handler announced he was going for a break. DS just broke into tears (and I have to admit, so did I). Stitch heard him, turned right around, took him by the hand and led him over to a small area while his handler kept everyone else away and Stitch played with him for 15 minutes-taking pics, being naughty, pushing DS's toy cars back and forth with him, hugging him, etc.-it was the most crazy magical 15 minutes you could ever wish for (and yes I cried like a baby the whole time). We have the whole experience on video and I can truly say that was the moment I became a Disney fanatic.

It's a toss up for me, so I'll list a couple...

DD was 3 last trip, and spent the entire week in princess gowns. She was a very tiny, very outgoing little blonde princess, who totally lit up the moment she saw just about any character. (And I was really shocked at how many characters responded to her. Seriously, it was insane how much attention she got.)

We were walking through Fantasyland trying to find my DM and DS, who had opted not to wait in line to meet Rapunzel and Cinderella. All of a sudden, Lady Tremaine and the two step sisters walk by on their way to their meet and greet. DD yelled, "Hi, I love you!" at them, and Anastasia turned around, and saw DD, who raced over to her and gave her a hug. Anastasia then kidnapped my daughter. She took her by the hand and marched after Lady Tremaine and Drizella, who had started their meet and greet. They then proceeded to finish with the girl they were posing with, then play with DD (and us) for about 10 minutes while the line built up and up. They were hilariously nasty to anyone who tried to cut them off or race in for a photo (being villains, I suppose they are allowed to do that.) They informed DD that Cinderella was a liar, and they were really very nice, and Cinderella just tells mean stories about them. When Lady Tremaine found out we had "lost" DS, she asked for tips on how to lose a child since she had one or two she wouldn't mind losing. It was a hoot, and completely unexpected. We hadn't been looking for them, we hadn't known they would be around, and it became one of the high points of the trip.

DS doesn't care that much about characters and never has, but he does like Star Wars, so we booked both Star Wars meals last year. DD doesn't really know who the Star Wars characters are; she was in her Sofia the First gown, and we thought she wouldn't have much interest in the villain meet and greet meal, and might even be scared. Imagine everyone's surprise (including his!) when she raced up to Greedo and gave him a huge hug and kiss, and then ran back to the table to give him all the presents she had traded from the Jawas because "he was her favorite and she loved him so much!" Greedo started pantomiming that he loved her, and came back and played with her again later. We decided that we are not showing her Episode IV any time again soon. (Also, that evening, she decided she was in love with Darth Goofy, and they danced together for a while. What is it about our girl and Bad Boys?)

getting to meet Peter Pan was awesome he really loved my shirt! he was "You flattened me" and "make sure you have girl keep me clean" (i.e. wash the shirt) he took a lot of time with me and my friend and even gave a hug as we started to leave (out of character for him which was honestly really cool!) IMG_0950.JPG
Hook on the other hand and Mr. Smee were not thrilled with my shirt and demanded it be covered up! they even refused to have picture taken until they were assured it was covered up lolpirates .jpg

We've had lots of great character interactions, but one of the best was on our last trip in November. We met Mulan at Characterpalooza at DHS and she was great. Here's a pic of her with my DDs after teaching them her best fighting pose!

I was looking after my 5 year old nephew at Tokyo Disney Sea whilst the rest of the family were on the Indiana Jones ride (too short to ride) when Indiana Jones walked past us , we grabbed his attention and Indy asked my nephew if he wanted to go on an adventure, we then followed Indy to a bridge where he pointed out his plane which was on the river bank needing repairs , asking my nephew if he could fix the plane and what tools they would need, and they chatted back and forth for 15 minutes .I think Indy was enjoying being able to interact in English and he seemed to be getting a kick out of my nephews responses, we took a few photos and made our way back to the family as they were getting off the ride. My other nephew (7) was so envious of his little brothers adventure, but it was a pure magical moment.

SW&K.JPG The first princess my daughter ever met at around 20 months. Through reading princess books, she had become very fond of Snow White. The M&G itself was awesome, but the most magical thing that happened, was that AFTER we met her, my daughter continued to gaze at SW from a far, waving and smiling. Snow White noticed and stopped what she was doing, ran over to my daughter and planted two giant lipstick laden smooches on her face. It even almost made my husband cry. It was really magical for us, and my daughter continued to talk about it for months to come.

We just went for a weekend trip to go to MVMCP and the only thing my oldest wanted to do was meet Merida. (My kids have never been overly into character meets, so this was pretty unusual. She talked about it for weeks and picked out a special outfit.)

We went to her meeting area shortly after arriving, but the line was massively long. We went back twice later and she was not there. We watched the fireworks from the bridge by her meet area and then got in line immediately after. When she finally came out, she ran right over to DD, grabbed her hand, and went skipping inside with her. DD is very shy and I have two much younger children, but somehow Merida just knew who to gravitate toward. I almost cried. Worth the whole trip.

I have to say that every character interaction I've had has been great, but there was something that really freaked me out last May.

My mom and I had breakfast at Akershus a few days into our trip. I had done drawings of all the Disney characters and had them sign the drawings as my souvenir. During the breakfast we had Ariel sign a drawing and took a picture with her.

A few days later, I went to the Magic Kingdom alone at night (mom stayed at the hotel as she wasn't feeling good). I had my drawing book with me and had an extra Ariel drawing, so I waited in line to meet her. As I walked up, she asked me if I had another drawing for her. She said she remembered me from the breakfast a few days before when I had my mom with me. I figured it must be the same Ariel as we had met.

Once I got home and started doing my trip report, I looked through the pictures and the Ariel at Akershus was NOT the same Ariel as the Magic Kingdom (nor the same as any of the other princesses we met). I have no idea how she knew me, but it was definitely a magical surprise (after the fact) lol :D

When I got to meet Cruella during the last 24 hour event at MK! I was in my Figment Disneybound, and she commented on it, among other things. Just such a cool interaction. She's my favorite Disney Villain and has been since I was a kid.

Additionally, it was awesome getting to meet Jack and Sally onboard the Fantasy.

I've told this story several times, but I don't mind repeating it because it's definitely one of my faves.

Me, my aunt, my nieces and a friend of theirs were at the MK in Dec. '13, and we had just gotten off of PPF. We were walking through the Tangle restroom area when we spotted Peter Pan and Wendy looking for Pascal. Nobody was bothering them, so we walked over to them and we had a wonderful uninterrupted interaction with them for about 5 or so minutes. Then, Peter told the girls to follow him and Wendy, so my nieces skipped off after him to their regular M&G spot. Peter had them sing I'm A Little Teapot and then they were made Lost Girls for life!

My then 3 year old daughter was obsessed with Cinderella. For her first trip to WDW, she wore her Cinderella dress and asked all day when she would meet her. We found the line for the 3 princesses and Cinderella was in there! We were waiting over an hour when a cast member announced Cinderella had to leave and she would be replaced (I don't remember by who). My little girl was so sad. She is a very quiet, calm child but she started to cry so hard. She was so upset and it was so not like her! We were almost to the front so we decided to just see the others all the while her asking, PLEASE mama, we find Cinderella? When we got up to the front and walked in and Cinderella was standing there...I just lost it. My girl ran up to her and just stared at her in awe. She talked to her (no idea what was said, their little secret conversation) and she signed her book, To My Twin Princess, Brenna.

Such a little moment but it just made our day. I will always remember that.

On another trip when she met Tinkerbell, Tinkerbell gave her an awesome pin for her lanyard. Its the one with her holding her little bottle of pixie dust! It was so not expected and sweet. :)

On our last trip the little racoon from Mulan (whats his name??) tried to eat my daughters Fairy Mickey Ears...it was pretty funny.

Another vote for Prince Charming at 1900 Park Fare! (though the interaction with ALL of the characters there were HONESTLY the most magical! Even Cinderella there was a step above the rest of the rest!). My daughter was so bashful of the Prince. She insisted that only I would pose for the photo when he came to our table. She took the pic too! I tried to encourage her to get a shot with the prince but she was just too bashful. So, after he visited a couple of tables around us, he snuck-up behind my daughter and got my attention. My daughter looked up and I told her to smile, and I got the best pic of her with the Prince. She then high-fived the Prince and was happy, but knew that we had been a tad DEVIOUS! Nicely done, Prince Charming! I wouldn't have thought to do that!!!!!!

I love reading all of these - and am excited to share our story :) In 2013, we attended MNSSHP, and spent a good amount of time with Madame Carlotta at the Haunted Mansion. She spent a very long time with DS - and was just so sweet to him. He has autism, and can be hard to understand at times. DS was so enthralled with Carlotta, that he drew a picture of them holding hands - with hearts all around - as soon as we got back to our room.

When we returned home - we mailed a package to Disney - with a thank you letter detailing how special the trip was for us - in particular this character interaction. We also included a picture of them together - and the picture that DS made of them. A few weeks later, we received a phone call from Disney letting us know they received the package - and that they would recognize "Carlotta" for her awesomeness :)

We returned to Disney in 2014 and attended MNSSHP - and Madame Carlotta was there. She remembered us - and the letter we sent :) It was the highlight of our trip. She spent so much time with DS again - and then went on a ride in the Haunted Mansion with him. He was elated - as were we. Each year she has gone way above and beyond what anyone could possibly ever expect - and we appreciate it more than words can say. I actually cried when we saw her this year, it was like seeing an old friend again.

We are going back again this year and praying we get to spend time with her again!!!

I have 2 favorites of my sister with face characters.

1. Ariel & Eric at MK: Ariel spent 5-10 minutes with my sister, first asking her questions and making suggestions for our visit before they even started taking pictures. I was starting to feel like I might need to push them along because the line when they started was long and she was only the 5th or 6th person up.

2. Rapunzel on the Dream (DCL): We had gotten a ticket to meet all of the princesses in a row. First was Tiana and she tried to engage my sister, but my sister kind of froze up as it was the first face character she had met in a few years. I reminded her she could talk to them as she was going to meet Rapunzel. They talked for a few minutes and made a pinky swear, plus she was able to get my sister to actually pose in specific ways. After that my sister did talk to Cinderella, Aurora and Bell, but not as much.

One of our best interactions was actually just last week with Hiro from Big Hero 6! We were in line for what seemed like forever since Baymax was having problems and had to keep leaving to recharge. After a while we noticed that Hiro was just wandering through the line chatting with people. My DS 9 was working on his homework since it was such a long wait and Hiro came up to him and sat right down on the floor with him asking about what he was working on. It was an essay, and Hiro asked if he could read it! So my son gave it to him and Hiro made lots of comments about what he was writing. Hiro said "if it was robotics, I could totally do it for you", then looked up at me and said "I mean help you do it!". During that same wait, my DD 7 had actually lost her first tooth while waiting in line, and Hiro was just so interested in that and wanted to know where we put it and told her not to pull any more out! It was so cute and we felt so grateful for the distraction from the long wait. We never did meet Baymax since he had to go right back for recharge again, but Hiro was totally worth the wait!

I'm not even sure what my best one was I've had so much fun with m&g's. I think the funniest one from my last trip was another guest dressed up as jack sparrow conspiring with Cruella about an island of puppies, she then turned to my table where I was dressed as the Wicked witch commented that "no one ever lets us just take the puppies" and decided the three of us should all go in on the deal for the island. My favorite though will always be the first time I did a m&g with stitch when he was in AK, I was a little nervous cause I was the only adult in line but he's my favorite character ever and he ran up and hugged me and it was real cool. This was after he attempted to steal the kid before me's sister for himself!

October 2003, our very first visit. DD was 3 and I'd made her a Cinderella dress for MNSSHP.
We'd been to the park earlier that day, left to change and came back. We did the parade and a ride or two first then when it came time for Trick or Treating she'd conked out:
d4_17.jpg

Still we went over to where Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother were because she had been so excited to meet them.

But there was no waking her. So I grabbed a picture with Cinderella in the background. I made DH wait til it was between
guests so the flash wouldn't interupt the ones meeting her. His arms were giving out. :)
d4_20.jpg

Got her back into her "carriage" and stood in line for the Fairy Godmother thinking perhaps DD would wake up,
but she didn't.

JUST before us, the handler started to take FG away, and I must have looked disappointed. They had walked
a few feet away and FG turned on her heal and said "Momma get your camera ready dear!" so I did
and she kissed her fingers and laid them about DD's cheek:
