We are staying at BWV for 4 nights of an 8 night split stay. We are already planning a few TS dinners at Epcot, as well as Boma and California Grill. We'd like to hang around the Boardwalk on one or two evenings, and are wondering what to eat! What do you think?
:) We'll be on DDP, regular, not deluxe.
:) We have tried Spoodles and like it, but probably want to branch out?
:) There are 3 of us: DH, myself, and DS9.
:) Since CG will use 2TS credits, we probably will stick w/ 1TS places, unless we are convinced otherwise.

All plans are contingent upon WDW unveiling the new (and improved?) ADR system!!

I would use my credits at ESPN or Beaches and Cream. Stay away from the Big River Grille.

I'm a fan of Spoodles, but since you've stated you'd like to try to branch out, I would recommend the same places as the PP, Beaches & Cream or Cape May Cafe.

Your pretty limited if you are wanting to use your credits. ESPN and the Big River Grille do not take credits, and the Flying Fish is 2TS. You can use a credit over at the Beach Club for Beaches and Cream or Cape May Cafe.

I am pretty sure they are both on DDP. We used it at ESPN in Sept 07 and at BRG in Sept 08. I'd go back to either & recommend both. Enjoy.

Wow I don't know what I was thinking...maybe it was the no reservations.

Flying Fish is 2TS but I think it's well worth it, one of my fav WDW restaurants, we like it much more than CG.

Beaches and Cream is kind of cute, your son may enjoy it, but I don't know that I would waste my dining plan credits there. I would pay OOP and save the credits (the food is not very expensive).

I think, with that criteria, Captain's Grille at YC and BC's Cape May may be your best bets. Though I'd choose Spoodles and Flying Fish over both of them. If you don't mind the low value, Beaches & Cream is a great option but doesn't take adrs.

Have eaten several times at ESPN - good to average (at least you know what you're getting there). Spoodles was pleasant, food was fine. Big River Grille (main disappointment here is they do not serve fries - their Nashville restaurant is a lot better and IS really nice). Beaches and Cream - really enjoyed on several occasions - standard diner food but more filling than you would imagine (a bit like ESPN in that regard). Fountain at Dolphin (obviously doesn't take DDP) nice enough food, excellent Marshmallow sauce with ice-cream. Flying Fish - didn't do it for us, remotely. Steak was poor and server was patronizing. We made the mistake of eating here when we are not seafood lovers.

Flying Fish was incredible, we tried it in Oct and loved it! Spoodles is also a very good place...awesome shimp linguini

Its not on the dining plan, but at either the swan or dolphin is Kimonos - a Japanese restaurant - and at night they have karakoke. If you booked through AAA you get 20% off your bill if that helps. DH and I will be there one night!

Just looked it up - its at the Swan.

I would go to Flying Fish over California Grill any day of the week hands down.
It is a much better restaurant in terms of food and service.
B.
