"You want to ride Dinosaur again?" - New 10/21 - The End!

Whew! I'm all caught up. Love the PP pictures and that graduation picture is just adorable. I hope the next update has you feeling better and a little someone was able to "go". No fun when that happens.

I had to laugh at Alex and the upside down question. My DSD12 grilled me for days on RRC and then non stop as we were heading over there and in line, about what specifically it did and for weeks we tried to explain what a barrel roll was. I'd actually forgotten that it did the roll AND went upside down. Somehow we made the roll sound like you were more sideways than upside down and left out the "real" upside down part. Which is a good thing, she'd have never gone on it, but loved it.

Great TR so far!

Your mystery picture could be in any of the gift shops but I'm going to guess POTC dump shop.

Ok that was what I was going to guess...now I was looking at this on a lap top and the screen was tilted in such a way, I didn't see the rose quartz label and I was thinking gummy snacks....

Some giftshop in Frontierland???? if not POC...:confused3

I was looking to get those decals on our last visit... but MouseGears was sold out of grown-ups and only had kids. :headache: Oh well, there's always next time!

I not only have that Minnie pin in my signature, I also wear it on my uniform at work!! ::MinnieMo

And the constipation issue is one we always deal with at Disney... must be because we get off of our regular routines and get a bit dehydrated... anyway, I've learned to pack ex-lax chocolate chews for just such situations. (Okay, they really don't taste like candy, but the kids only need 1/2 of an already tiny square and it works!!)

Sorry for TMI....

Kathy

I think I remember you showing us a picture of your Nurse Minnie pin at one point...

Good advice on the ex-lax! I'll have to remember to bring some next time!! We don't want that problem again!

:welcome: Thanks for reading!!

Alex was really funny about riding RnRC. All he could talk about was being over 48 inches (finally) leading up to the trip, then once we got in line he got so nervous. It was cute! But as expected, he LOVED it!

Nope - not Magic Kingdom. :rolleyes1

Time for a hint... Up next on our itinerary is Animal Kingdom. :thumbsup2

I didn't quite get it... meaning I didn't realize that you had started a separate TR, and here I was waiting and waiting on your PTR, looking for an update, never realizing that your last post directed me to your TR, so finally it clicks, and I get over here to 14 pages of catch up!!!! :scared1: I am only on page 8, but I am getting there! So far, you really take great photos! So it is fun to read along and see the photos that help paint the picture! Seems like the first few park adventures were great! :thumbsup2 Loved the "must have snow cone" story and the stuffed Yeti's! :goodvibes

Still reading... :surfweb:

This one relates to the title of this TR...

DINOSAUR!! We found these little goodies at the gift shop at Dinosaur!

Our plans for day 4 have us returning to Animal Kingdom!!

Up Next: A very early start to a day of drama

Sorry, but there aren't any pictures for this update...

The plan for today, Thursday, 4/30 was:

Animal Kingdom whenever we get there (DBIL & family arrive)
Whatever we/they want…
Depending when we arrived…
Lunch (CS #4)
mid-day break or straight to WCC
Head to Wilderness Lodge for 5:30 ADR (TS #3)
Take boat to MK for Spectro & Wishes!!

I don’t remember the song, but at 3:15 we were woken to LOUD, LOUD music coming from the alarm clock! :scared1: I cleared my head enough to turn it off and go back to bed. Luckily Tim & Alex went right back to sleep, but Zach decides 3:15 is a good time to try to go to the bathroom and take care of that problem he was having the night before. :rolleyes1 He was in bed with Tim (we each slept with one of the boys instead of having them sleep together because of Alex’s early waking) but I got up to go to the bathroom with him. No luck… back to bed. :sad2:

3:35 – Zachary has to go to the bathroom… I get up to go with him. No luck… back to bed! :sad2: Tim & I switch beds so I can sleep with Zach.
4:00 – Zachary has to go to the bathroom… I get up to go with him. No luck… back to bed! :sad2:
4:20 – Zachary has to go to the bathroom… I stay in bed. No luck… back to bed! :sad2:
4:45 – Zachary has to go to the bathroom… I stay in bed. No luck… back to bed! :sad2:

This continued until about 5:30 when he finally went back to bed and fell asleep, and therefore I finally got to sleep. He was not a happy camper. Alex was up at 6:30 – Tim got up with him and got him settled. Zach only slept until about 7am. Tim woke me up at 7:45 to tell me that Zach had finally pooped!!!!!!!!!! Hallelujah!! :worship: And I felt better too – no signs of the Disney flu! :thumbsup2

Our receipt says that Tim got a Croissant with sausage at 7:57am. Alex had already eaten, Zach & I had bagels in the room. There would be no rope drop for us today. We tried to check in with Jeff but didn’t have any luck – they must have been in a “dead zone” for cell coverage on their way to see us. The plan was to wait for them at CBR then to head to AK. It should have taken them about 2 hours to get to Orlando so if they had left on time at 7am they would have been to us by 9:30 at the latest.

While we hung out in the room I kept offering Zach more to drink – he declined several times until I reminded him that it would help him avoid another “poop problem”. He responded with, “That was a bad problem!”

We hung out in the room and let the kids play their video games for a while. We still couldn’t reach Jeff around 10:00/10:30 so we went over and visited the arcade too and used our free 30 minute card. Around 11:00 we STILL couldn’t reach Jeff – we were starting to worry, we tried Jeff’s phone, Karen’s phone and the kids’ cell phones too – nothing – straight to voicemail??????? :confused3

After the arcade we decided to get ready for AK since we had no idea when to expect Jeff to arrive. The kids were starting to notice that our plans weren’t going as expected. We decided to eat lunch at OPR before heading to AK but it was only 11 and we didn’t know when lunch would be served. When we left the arcade just before 11 they were still serving breakfast. I called the front desk, they connected me to Disney Dining, they didn’t know about CS places… Finally we gathered our park stuff and headed back to OPR. Luckily lunch had begun. I got myself a cheese pizza with salad, which I shared with Zach. After I sat down Tim went over to the grill section and got a hot dog meal for himself and a chicken nugget bucket for Alex. Alex ate the carrots and gave Zach the applesauce. We bought Zach a juice. Alex doesn’t like the fries at Disney so we discovered that we can grab a bag of chips (good sized bag) as the dessert that comes with our meals – we started stocking up on these when we didn’t want a dessert. After Tim ate I sent him back to the room with the extra chips and to grab the kids’ juice cups out of the fridge to take with us to AK. When he came back we decided to walk back to the room, again, to drop off the pail. Not sure why since we ended up with several of them by the end of the week. I guess I just couldn’t bring myself to throw it away.

We still couldn’t reach Jeff and the kids were starting to ask questions that we couldn’t answer! :headache: We couldn’t wait around any longer so we jumped on a bus to AK and arrived there around noon. AK wasn’t very busy – there were a lot of school groups there though. Finally, shortly after arriving at AK Tim reached Jeff. Where were they? What did Jeff say that made Tim's jaw hit the ground? :confused3

Mystery Picture #10:

Up Next: Where's Jeff?

Yay for poop!!! :rotfl: That stinks that you all had such interrupted sleep.

My guess is that they were already at the AK and just couldn't hear the cell phones?? :confused3

Yes - Yay for poop! :thumbsup2

And no... they weren't in the park... it's much more dramatic than that! :rolleyes1

Oh my goodness! You were up so many times throughout the night! I am happy that the "poop problem" was finally resolved!

I hope everything was okay with Jeff and family!

Only a Mom can truly say, Hooray for the Poop!! :lmao: Seriously!

I really feel for you... that must've been so frustrating for both of you. Hope it didn't make you too tired to enjoy the day!

Good that you had an easy morning....

Where's Jeff??? :confused3

Kathy

That sounds like a horrific night! :scared1: So glad that it was finally resolved! Hallelujah for a successful potty run!

Where in the world is Jeff?? :confused3 I'm so curious....don't keep me hangin'!

Is that picture in the Boneyard at AK??

It was a long night! Luckily it had a happy ending though. ;)

You got it!!! Hooray!! The Boneyard it is! I'll try not to leave you hanging too long!

I meant to add this into my post, but I forgot... so here's what I think happened with the alarm clock:
I'm not sure if all of the Disney alarm clocks are like this, but the on/off/alarm button is one in the same, so if someone (maybe mousekeeping :rolleyes1) were listening to music, then hit the button thinking they were turning it off, they would be turning the alarm on! You have to hit the button twice to actually turn everything off! I'm guessing the people before us might have had a REALLY early flight home!! Unless it just took them a long time to get ready for an 8am ADR! :confused3

Okay I'm hooked, and looking forward to reading more.

OK some of you must know the Wiggles... nobody thought this was funny?

jeffdoor.jpg

Where's Jeff? :rotfl: I was cracking myself up over that! I'll just assume that nobody saw it when I posted it and keep laughing by myself! :rolleyes1

As Missy guessed, we would be off to the Boneyard! But first… we left off with Jeff finally calling us!

Tim’s jaw wasn’t on the ground just yet… this call was very vague. Jeff said they were running late and would call us later. He was kind of short on the phone. Hmmm… what was going on?? We decided to continue on and enjoy the day, with or without them. We told the kids what we knew, they were running late and we didn’t know when they would get there. The kids were a little annoyed that their cousins weren't there yet, but were satisfied to know they were eventually coming.

First up, Dinosaur! Zach was ready to give it a try & Alex thought he might like it this time! We got in line and this time Alex had to exit because he had a belly ache! Tim took him out to the bathroom. Zach & I rode and he LOVED it!! As you can guess from the title of this TR, this wouldn’t be the last time we would ride.

When we got off the ride I called Tim – I was worried that Alex was throwing up somewhere. Now I couldn’t reach him! Zach & I hung out in the gift shop and bough some of these:

He loved these rocks! We bought 2 at $4.95/each. After that we headed outside Dinosaur to try Tim again, but he beat me to it and called to say that Alex just had to pee and they were just getting off Dinosaur now. After we met back up we had a few PP pictures taken:

It was finally time for my first ride on Primeval Whirl! Alex was tall enough this year and Tim can’t handle spinning, jerky rides so I was up! Tim took Zach to ride EE again. Alex & I rode PW twice!! Sometime between ride one and two Tim called and we planned to meet up at the Boneyard.

The kids played for just a little while but it was really hot!! We aren’t usually at a park during these hours of the day and apparently that was why! We decided to get some ice cream next. Tim had a pineapple bar, Alex & I had strawberry bars and Zach had a Mickey bar. Once Alex saw Zach’s Mickey bar he changed his mind. Luckily his wasn’t opened yet and the nice CM let us exchange it. It was almost 2:00 and we wanted to see the 2:30 showing on Festival of the Lion King! We wandered in that direction as we ate the ice creams. We stopped at a bench to watch these guys play (The Village Beatniks, according to their sign):

IMG_3143.jpg

While we were watching them play, Jeff called Tim. (cue the ominous music...) This is when Tim’s jaw actually hit the ground… Jeff broke the news to Tim that J&K were not going to be able to come with them for the weekend!!! What!?!?!? :confused3 And Jeff & Karen wouldn’t be there in time for dinner. (Turns out they could have joined us for dinner but they thought they would have to use a day of park admission to join us for dinner… they figured it out later in the week.) We were really disappointed and knew the kids would be devastated. :sad2: We decided to wait to tell them until after the show.

Up Next: I know this isn't a mystery picture, but since I already told you we would be heading to FOTLK I'll give you a preview...

Up Next: Time for the Festival!

My Jonah used to watch the Wiggles religiously! It's so sad that he is too grown up for those "little kid" shows now. :sad1:

Thanks for the giggle! ;)

PS>> I posted at the same time you were posting! Didn't even see you had an update....I saw it and laughed first, promise!
