You Seem Taller In Your Trip Reports. A Baby at WDW - *HOLY COW! AN UPDATE!* 4/17 p26

Gosh it seems like last year since you updated your trip report :rolleyes1

Did I really never comment on this chapter? What's wrong with me?
Well, for one...
Don't answer that.
Ah, you're no fun. I had my copy of the DSM-IV open and ready for a good read. Luckily, DSM-V comes out in May, so there could be a whole slew of new things wrong with you!

I read through this whole paragraph and my only reaction was, "They really made a movie called Splash Too??":confused3
I was pretty shocked to see that myself.

Ever see that Bobby Knight interview where he tried to figure out what a game face looked like?
No, but Evan is getting pretty good at throwing chairs across a basketball floor.

Impressive. :darth: She beat my score, and I wasn't holding a baby. :sad2:
Sounds like you need a few more trips for practice.

Looks like Ryder thought so, too.
::yes:: One of these days we'll even let him have some.

It did seem like they could cut that wait a bit.
At least by a couple of parsecs.

Wow! I've always wanted to learn Australian, myself.
"Throw another shrimp on the barbie!" Wait...or is that Austrian?

I just wanted to say a belated thank you for not giving him a lightsaber while we were in Chicago.
Luckily he was trying to actually push you in front of that bus instead of Force pushing.

Double the awesomeness!
Doublemint gum?:confused3

I could definitely see Madison walking around the park holding Vader's hand as she guides him through the dance steps during the parade.
:rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:
That sounds about right! And it might take her a little while, but she's had Paplatine eating a Mickey bar and singing "its a small world after all" before our vacation was done.

Gosh it seems like last year since you updated your trip report :rolleyes1
It only seems like that since because of the the time difference between here and Ireland. Yeah, that sounds like a good excuse.

Yes. Yes it does. :thumbsup2 :rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:
I know Indiana has messed up time zones. Half the state does Daylight Saving Time, half doesn't. Nobody knows what time it is there.

:badpc::badpc::badpc: I think my computer is broke and I can't see the update.
I wrote it in a white font on a white background. Just like James Bond would do. Just call me "Double Oh Zero." Or "oooooo" for short. :cool2:

I know Indiana has messed up time zones. Half the state does Daylight Saving Time, half doesn't. Nobody knows what time it is there.
You really are slow...

That changed about 6 or 7 years ago. The whole state has Daylight savings time now.

But most of the state is Eastern Time except for the NW and SW corners.

Thanks. I pride myself on the amount of BS I can generate.

You really are slow...

That changed about 6 or 7 years ago. The whole state has Daylight savings time now.
I've been avoiding Indiana all this time and NOW you tell me it's fixed? I'll pack my bags now!
But most of the state is Eastern Time except for the NW and SW corners.
Not sure that's helping your case, but it's still better than Tennessee. I think I entered Eastern Time twice while driving through that state. :confused3

Me either... he was probably too busy avoiding me in MK so he didn't have to buy me a Dole Whip. :scratchin
You knew I was there. You chose to spend your time elsewhere.

Based on the number of "where's the update?" posts, I'll assume it's time to write another update.

After successfully vanquishing the Dark Lord, we ...wait. Not that Dark Lord, I'm talking about Vader here. I think you have to go over to that other park to vanquish the other Dark Lord.

Either way, it was time for a late lunch. We started walking over to Hollywood & Vine, but got stopped by Shelby Mayor and Paige Turner - two of the Citizens of Hollywood. Shelby started talking to Madison and telling her that he could make her a star! (pfffft. Clearly he's never seen her work. She's already there!)

So he asked her to hold out her hand like a princess. She sticks her hand out, palm facing up. "No, no, no," he says as he turns her hand over, palm facing down. "That's how an ex-wife holds out her hand. A princess does it it this." He put a couple of gaudy costume jewelry rings (right up Madison's alley) on her fingers and have her his business card.

IMG_2339.JPG

We bid them goodbye and found ourselves waiting outside Hollywood and Vine in the beautiful Florida afternoon sunshine. It took a few minutes, but eventually we got called to our table.

IMG_2343.JPG

By that time the sunshine started pouring down in liquid form, so I had to run out and pull out the ponchos to cover the stroller and all of our gear.

Meanwhile, Ryder was doing...well, whatever this is.

IMG_2351.JPG

Now the food here is decent - at least by Disney buffet standards. But we had booked this ADR for one reason. Evan is a huge Jake and the Neverland Priates fan, and Jake himself is one of the characters here for lunch. We didn't tell the kids this beforehand, instead we decided to see their reaction as we got there. As expected, they were thrilled!

IMG_2360.JPG

(Well, Madison and Evan were. Ryder was probably more "bewildered", but that's pretty much his natural state anyway.)

Every half hour or so they start up the music and the characters put on a little dance party. Guess who was front and center when the first chords were struck?

IMG_2364.JPG

Although, now that I look at it...Madison appears to be more in line with the characters and less "on the dance floor." Clearly, she doesn't even need a stage to be on stage. :sad2:

After lunch the rain had slowed from the steady sheets of water to normal, soak everything rain, so we headed over to Star Tours to save the galaxy...again. Why can't it just stay saved?

After Star Tours, we had some Rockin Roller Coaster FPs burning a hole in my pocket, so we headed that way. The kids were really excited for this one - it would be their first time on the ride and they had been talking about it for weeks.

The only thing we were unsure of was the weather. While the ride is indoors, we didn't know what Disney's policy was on shutting this ride down for lightening. Do they have to shut it down too? Looking at the radar on my phone, there was heavy stuff bearing down on Disney World and it would certainly contain lightening. We decided to chance it and head over. We made through the queue, into the preshow ("better make it a super stretch!") and into the underground parking garage. We were sorted into our stalls to wait for a limo...but none came. We waited....and waited. I had no signal in there to get weather updates, and there was a manager-looking person over next to the control booth on the phone. This wasn't looking good. He disappeared into a back room for a bit, then got back on the phone. Uh oh. No announcement had been made, but Bambi and I were giving each other the "crap. how long do we wait this out?" look. Then....

A limo came! Excellent! We jumped in, buckled up and...waited some more. Crud. The manager dude was on the phone again. It was just a brief wait and we were cruising the streets of LA on our way to the concert! The kids absolutely loved the ride!

IMG_2390.JPG

We decided to call it a day at DHS and headed to the boat launch to catch a ride back to the Boardwalk. But first, the kids had to show off their Mickey and Minnie ponchos.

Boat Ride!

IMG_2392.JPG

We settled back into our ground floor room at the Boardwalk to wait out the rain, when we saw a few friends decided to wander onto our covered patio to do the same thing.

IMG_2395.JPG

Assuming they were perfectly harmless Disney friends, and not any kind of venomous duck, we decided to invite them in.

IMG_2398.JPG

We opened the door and tossed a few cookie crumbs out on the patio and on the carpet. A few brave ducks wandered up to the threshold and reached in to eat the cookie, but none stepped over and into the room. Ha! Let's see you that with a giraffe at Animal Kingdom Lodge!

Eventually we got a break in the weather and headed down to pool. As you can see, the break might not last too long, so we made the most of it.

DSCF0594.JPG

The pool at the Boardwalk is nick-named the "scary clown pool", and for good reason. A nice gentle ride on the water slide ends in you being vomited from a clown's mouth. Good luck sleeping after knowing that...

It's very important to test out the buoyancy of the provided life jackets. You can never be too cautious. Or relaxed.

DSCF0604.JPG

After a good amount of swimming we were all getting a bit hungry. We wandered the boardwalk a bit and decided on the pizza window outside of Kouzzina. For one quick service credit, you got a slice of pizza, a drink and a dessert. Or for two quick serve credits, you got an entire pizza, 2 drinks and 2 desserts. Kind of a no-brainer there. (And trust me, I specialize in no-brainer decisions. I'm actually over qualified.)

As we were sitting at a nice water-side table waiting for our buzzer to go off, a nice lady stopped by and asked if we had dinner yet. We said we ordered a pizza and were just waiting for it. She said we looked hungry and asked if we wanted another. Turns out she was leaving in the morning and had 10 quick service credits that we wanted to burn. So she went to the window and ordered us a few more pizzas to take back to our room for late night snacks or breakfast the next morning. Pixie Dust Pizza rules!

Everyone was excited for the pizza to arrive!

Yes. You are over due.

Shelby started talking to Madison and telling her that he could make her a star! (pfffft. Clearly he's never seen her work. She's already there!)
I've seen her work and it is marvelous! :thumbsup2

Now the food here is decent - at least by Disney buffet standards.
You think? We have done breakfast there and I thought it was good but Melody stated she would never step in that place again.

Thanks a lot... now I'm gonna have nightmares for weeks. I see Evan made it past the tonsils and is about to hit the soft palate.

Ryder is getting to be the same way. It's amazing how wide of a wingspan he has when there is food (or anything messy) remotely close.

Oh yes and the amount of nonedibles that went into that boys mouth.... :sad2:

They give the kids crayons at resturants, he thought it was the appetizer
You give kids pencils in school to write - he thought the top was the snack. For years we had no erasers on pencils.
That thing hanging in the bathroom - tear off snacks - tastes like toilet paper. Tissues too ..... Had to foce cotton candy in his mouth because he would not try it... Really... :rotfl:
Grass, sand, rocks, :sad2: :sad2:

Fastest hands in the east though when something that might contain food was put down. Trained a waitress ot twleve. :rotfl2:

On to the update- Have done Hollywood and Vine, meh.... not horrible not great. From what I remember the boy actually couldn't find something to eat... Now looking at the above, that is pretty funny. :rotfl2: I remember he was in a mood and the girl was always picky so I am sure that had as much to do with the lackluster review than anything else.

So glad RnR was just delayed, probably just traffic on the freeway. ;)

I need to be caught in a lengthy downpour so I can get a Minnie poncho. ::MinnieMo

Looks like y'all were having so much fun at DHS! That's great that the kids liked RNRC! :thumbsup2

We did H&V for the first time this past October. It wasn't my favorite meal but it definitely wasn't terrible. And it is fun for the kids.

Assuming they were perfectly harmless Disney friends, and not any kind of venomous duck, we decided to invite them in.

You’re were worrying about the wrong end there.

Considering how quick food travels through a duck…
This decision seem a might short sighted?

Let's see you that with a giraffe at Animal Kingdom Lodge!

Your gonn’a need a bigger pooper-scooper

The pool at the Boardwalk is nick-named the "scary clown pool", and for good reason. A nice gentle ride on the water slide ends in you being vomited from a clown's mouth. Good luck sleeping after knowing that...

Yah, they need to work on that one.
The slide should be far more aggressive so as to achieve more of a projectile vomiting effect when disgorging the guest if they really want to capitalize on the whole nightmare/phobia motif.

Not a single red cent. Grandma & grandpa bought them. Bambi and I have matching adult versions. :thumbsup2

Breakfast or lunch?

But this is the one thing that might make us reconsider. DS loves Jake. His birthday is this weekend and he wanted a Jake party.
I was shocked when I watched Peter Pan again after having seen eleventy billion episodes of Jake. In Jake, Captain Hook is just a bumbling nin-com-poop. In Peter Pan, he's a real blood thirsty SoB!

Well, that would make the next ride a bit of a letdown...
Yeah, but I'm not on the next ride. I'm on this one!

The thing might be a little less creepy if it didn't have stars for eyes...
Or bloody fangs. Wait, never mind. That was the version in my dream last night.

Um, Bambi... any comments? :confused3
She probably stopped reading by now. I know I would have.

If Voldemort carried around a foam ball launcher instead of a wand, the series probably would have stopped at book one.

That would never catch on.

See? Ryder was not impressed.
I stand corrected. I'll contact the Internet meme people right away.

Sorry about that. Oh, tomorrow morning, just before sunrise, look to the east. You're in for a shock!

Didn't Mr. Incredible ask that? "Can you just stay saved...for 10 minutes?!":rotfl:
+1:thumbsup2 Yes, that's exactly where I ripped it off from. So far in this TR I have linked Star Wars with both Pirates of the Caribbean and The Incredibles. That's worth the price of admission right there.

:thumbsup2 Excellent! Glad you were able to get the ride in.
Me too! (They're not the only ones that enjoy the ride. :rolleyes1)

Ryder is not impressed.
Wow, that's really catching on, huh?

You've caught onto my plans. Nice work.

Ahhhhh…
That s’plains it.

Taking one for the kids
Because that's what we do. And in the end, we're rewarded with rides on Rock n roller coaster. :thumbsup2

Due to the vast number of parsecs separating Star Tours and Pixar Place.
Wait, parsecs the distance or parsecs the time? Because as far as I know, there is no black hole between Star Tours and Pixar Place. Unless you count the Backlot Tour.

You’re were worrying about the wrong end there.

Considering how quick food travels through a duck…
This decision seem a might short sighted?
But they were sooooo cute!

Your gonn’a need a bigger pooper-scooper
That's why they have vacuums in the closets of the DVC rooms. For giraffe poop.

Yah, they need to work on that one.
The slide should be far more aggressive so as to achieve more of a projectile vomiting effect when disgorging the guest if they really want to capitalize on the whole nightmare/phobia motif.

And not even from a CM but it was courtesy of another guest.
Almost reaffirms my faith in other people.
Most people are good. It's the bad ones that really catch your attention. :sad2:

“So… are you going to run my slice through a blender or what?”

I'm not sure exactly what Ryder is doing, but he is sure cute doing it!

Funny, when I stayed at the BWV's last June I was on the bottom floor and I was thinking how great it would be with kids.

Glad everyone enjoyed the clown pool.

Do they stop RnR during lightning? I had no idea!

Even though my quotes were mostly attributed to Tim, I'll still reply...

Breakfast or lunch?
Dinner.

I was shocked when I watched Peter Pan again after having seen eleventy billion episodes of Jake. In Jake, Captain Hook is just a bumbling nin-com-poop. In Peter Pan, he's a real blood thirsty SoB!
I know!!! And could you believe he smoked a cigarette in a Disney cartoon????? And so did the Indians and the kids. Everybody smoked!!!

I half expected to see some product placement from the Kentucky chamber of commerce or something! :rotfl::lmao:

She probably stopped reading by now. I know I would have.
Apparently so. Or maybe she just expected you to have this one done by now and is looking for the TR from the last trip. :rolleyes1

Cold Pizza. Warm Beer. The Breakfast of Champions. :thumbsup2
Man Law! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:
