You Make the Call

CSR and stay in the tower with the club level, we just got back and it was amazing!! Even though there are changes to Club level since covid, it is still terrific and the staff is amazing.

A "a romantic getaway with your significant other"?

No doubt the POFQ for the reasons you gave. It's "the most romantic and quietest of the 3 and you can jump on the boat to get to the Disney Springs."

I vote for POFQ too. It is my favorite moderate resort by far, and I love taking the boat or walkways over to POR.

I also vote for POFQ....but the Tower might be nice, I've never stayed there.....but I love the size of POFQ, how quiet it is, the boat to DS and the walk along the river to visit POR and that it only has 1 bus stop.

Care to share your observations of the changes?
For the club level food option at Chronos Lounge it was all tapas style, the lunch options were limited to veggies, uncrustables, chips, pretzels, bags of trail mix and fruit. You could get alcohol at any point of the day before they had it in the fridge, as they were always asking us if we wanted a mimosa in the am, or beer at lunch. No mickey waffles or scrambled eggs in the am, just egg frititatas, which were very good, steel cut oats, hard boiled eggs and the typical bread, crossiants, bagels and nature granola bars. There was greek yogurt, regular yogurt and apple slices and grapes in the fridge all the time, apple juice and cereals as well. For late night there was dessert and cordials, and some very tasty wine.

As a Childless Millennial (tm) I only ever do solo or go with my partner, and we are generally deluxe people. I can’t speak to POR or CBR, but I have stayed at POFQ and CSR in the Tower and if the choice is between those two, Gran Destino wins every single time and it’s not even close. The tower truly is a deluxe level experience at moderate level pricing, the lobby alone is frankly more impressive than several deluxes (I’m thinking specifically of BC/YC/BWI here).

Because it’s a convention resort you have deluxe amenities like spa/fitness facilities and much more on site dining than your typical mod. Good on site dining, even, with late night options. You also have two themes in one, with the Barcelona vibes in the tower and the Mission-style/Southwest stuff in the grounds. It’s a gorgeous resort, especially at night; I prefer it to fake NOLA tbh. It’s admittedly huge but the tower is centrally located and everything you need is inside of it with very short walks to dining and main pool. Bus stop is right there and is the last one out to the parks, but rideshare is easy.

I frankly enjoyed it better than my Yacht Club stay two months earlier despite being able to walk to EP and HS from there. I was joking with my TA that if they plopped that tower on Crescent Lake I wouldn’t do anything but GDT/Poly splits.

I know people love POFQ, and I mostly enjoyed my stay there—it’s okay for what it is, but I don’t especially have any need to stay there again. The boat to DS is really the best thing it has going for it. The main pool is much more impressive at CSR. And I’m not sure how you can see Three Bridges on the water at night and not think it’s more romantic than a food court that 95% closes down at 10, which is your sole onsite option at POFQ. The rooms are also larger and much nicer than at POFQ and the internal hallways afford more privacy. GDT all day long, for me.
