I still have a deck of cards with Spuds McKenzie on it...

You actually know the words to "Rock Me Amadeus"...
I remember being out with a group of friends at the local Pizza Hut...which had a jukebox....we played played "Rock Me Amadeus" about ten times in a row, back to back, nonstop...you had to have been there....
HOW ABOUT THE 1980'S PREPPIES??!!!
I was apart of the 1980's 'preppy group', whose garb included the original all leather Coach bag, bermuda bags, duck shoes and the Lacoste Izod Alligator shirt (before they split the name of the two brands), and cloth covered headbands, to hold back the perscribed 'muffy cut'.
Yes, I did own a copy of the preppy handbook, and will admit that I did own an outfit that was comprised of a green plaid kilt skirt (with the large kilt pin), green knee socks, penny loafers, and to top it off a yellow shetland wool sweater, with while turtle neck under the shetland sweater. A clubbing outfit comprised of either Calvin Klein or Vanderbilt jeans with one or two izod shirts with the collars turned up, and a pair of either ballerina flats, or maybe some heels with the jeans.
I wish I still fit in my Calvins (sigh.........![]()

Or if you see a Mustang GT 5.0 with t tops or Iroc and have flashbacks that you will never share with your childListening to Ac/Dc back in black, those were the days.
I have figured out the parachute pants query!
"What are parachute pants? Back in the early 1980s, parachute pants were tight, shiny pants made of synthetic material. These pants were originally created for break dancers who needed pants that could stand up to the abuse of break dancing. In the late 80s and early 90s parachute pants went from being tight to being extremely baggy thanks to the notorious fashion sense of a Mr. MC Hammer.
While women sometimes wore parachute pants during the 80s, they were most often worn by men and theyre probably not coming back onto the fashion scene anytime soon. Every fashion decade has one thing to be ashamed of. Parachute pants may very well be the skeleton in the closet of 80s fashion."
I have the greatest email...

Grew Up In the 80's IF:
29. You remember Alf, the lil furry brown alien from Melmac.
PASS THIS ON TO ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS WHO GREW UP IN THE 80s or Early 90s!!!
In high school, my outfits had to be two colors. Head to toe. Like, say, pink and gray. That meant wearing a pink sweatshirt with a gray polo under it, pink and gray striped jeans, a pair of pink slouch socks, a pair of gray slouch socks, gray LA Gear hightops with pink laces, and the pink and gray ribbon barretts in my hair.
My boyfriend would wear a ton of bandanas tied around one leg of his jeans. What was up with that?![]()
I don't think it actually started until 90 or 91, but remember the show Parker Lewis Can't Lose? "Synchronize Swatches!"
Guess my username doesn't give away the decade I grew up in ....![]()
OMG, forgot about them....loved them!Them and New Edition... long before NKOTBMenudo
Now I feel like I missed out on something. I'll never look at my youth the same way again.
Please, tell me all about this Parker fellow.
A year or so ago I went with my husband to get his hair cut and there was a guy in the chair with the longest rat tail I've ever seen in my life. The rest of his hair was short and neat, but the tail came down to his butt or longer.
But I do remember when they were cool
Parker Lewis was a show that Fox (which was a new network at the time) aired. It was only on for 3 seasons, I think. It was a teen/high school show. It was in direct competition with a Ferris Bueller show on one of the major networks, but Parker was soooo much better. Funny doesn't begin to cover it.
The show is supposed to be released on dvd in June, so if you have NetFlix or something like that, I highly recommend renting it. It will take you back and make you laugh.![]()
